  • do any of you know how hard it is for an officer to do this under this much pressure

  • That looked more accidental than an intentional PIT but I wasn't there so I don't know. Either way I laugh at the quote (from fox news) about a "perfect PIT..." when the truck slides across a 4 lane highway and flips into a concrete barricade.

  • hahaha lol

  • the more effective way to pit someone

  • @RainbowManification Then why don't they do PIT's like this anymore? This seems to be an antiquated "ram" technique popular in the 1980s.

  • Perfect PIT. Too bad they didn't die, though.

  • Van flipper - C- or D+. Somewhat ill advised, not a total failure.

Roof rammer - F+. WTF was he thinking?

  • I love how the 2nd cop just hit his teammate and re-rammed the car xD

i think he were like: " I wanna hit him too! i wanna hit him too!"

  • Was this the 14 Year Old Cop Show?

  • HOLY JESUS I THINK I KNOW THE DRIVER

  • Of the van or the cop car?

  • i dont even know why the cops did a pit at such high speed in neighborhood were theres kids/ppl on the sidewalks. if a child was killed there. the cop who did the pit would be in jail. no way in hell he was told ok for the pit in this zone. usually police back off when a chase gets into a 30mph zone like this.

  • Yes, this PIT was irresponsible. The cops were likely inexperienced and stressed. The chase was pretty serious, though. Overall I'd give the police performance here C- or D+.

  • @whattheheck1000

Why should we care what you think LOL?

  • @HeIiminator What kind of thinking is that? Nice comeback.

  • @whattheheck1000 I have no idea what you just said. I find it amusing that some kid from grade 11 is criticizing police officers and "grading" them behind the safety of his computer screen. Even more so, what makes you think the officer was attempting a PIT, rather than just a ram?

  • @HeIiminator They said PIT maneuver in the video.

  • @whattheheck1000

The narrator called it a PIT maneuver.

  • that was a nice van

  • God, you're i d i o t s. It was a perfect PIT maneuver. They could even see that the sidewalk was clear.

If you think simply turning over is more dangerous to the surroundings than driving 90mph through a town, you need a mental check.

  • what if there were people on the sidewalk? fucking moron cop...

doing 90mph is safer than rolling a fucking van in a residential zone

  • how many people did these dumb ass cops put at risk, I hope they got off to make up for all the pussy they miss out on. cop = tool, I think it is required to get hired.

  • James! :D

i don't know what this is, but im commenting your video. haha.

  • It's a Police Chase from around 1995 or so.

  • I stand corrected, probably around 1993.

  • lmao :41

  • sweet pit maneuver !!!

  • lol.......cop trying to kick in the windshield....

  • yeah he should have shot it.

  • Great PIT (persuit intervention techneque.

They would have killed some one if they were not stoped

  • If the cops fucked off they wouldn't have been speeding anywhere....

  • This was not a good PIT maneuver, it was almost a complete t-bone. A PIT maneuver isn't about ramming a car, it's about pushing the back wheels sideways so that they lose traction with the road, causing the vehicle to spin out. A good PIT maneuver does NOT end with the vehicle rolling, and should never be attempted in a residential area unless the suspects are intentionally trying to hurt pursuing officers or pedestrians (firing a gun out the window, trying to run down pedestrians, etc)

  • you are right, but I don't think it was a pit in the first place. The officer saw an opportunity to hit the car to try and stop it and it worked.

  • Probably a pre-1997 style ram.

  • The narrator sais: this pursuit ended before anybody got hurt! :D i'm sure the suspects don't think like that after they had a nice TRIP! :D

  • That's how you do a pit maneuver. Good job officers. lookin good.

  • Stupid, ignorant macho acting cops. They will endanger you whole family because some young punk with traffic tickets, or suspended licence, does not want to pull over. Even if he did rob somebody you don't pick a heavy traffic to try and stop him in. I am not willing to die, or have my whole family wiped out because he causes the suspect, or his own patrol car to plow into me. Such dangerous diregard for innocent bystanders.

  • Shut up...Go live in Iraq if you don't like a decent law system. Fucking dumbass, you'd think having a family would someone MORE mature instead of more of an idiot...

  • I guess you don't mind if they kill your ugly looking mother with their reckless disregard for lives. The is a watse good whore by the way, I wonder would your mother to let the whole force screw her in ass before the police run over the bitch, while trying to catch someone for big crime, like cracked tail light? At least you are consistant Mikemaniac. Up yours Mikemaniac! ha! ha!

  • Wow are you even from this country? America that is? Learn the language bro, and apparently you are about as mature as a ten-year-old. Nice mom jokes, they were cool when I was in grade school.

  • LOL does the Cop think he can kick through the window?

  • LOL

  • That was a good PIT. If u dont no what u talking about then be quiet.

  • I have gotten a new videocamera since then and it records at full television resolution.

    Will be uploading more chases.

  • You should record it directly from the television feed, not off the screen. You get the most solid quality.

  • maybe excessive force but it got the job done

  • One of the worst pits ever you're supposed to pit the person on the rear bumper of the truck or the car not on any of the rear doors. It doesn't even work that well if it's hit in the wrong spot of the truck. And brian1850 is right it wasn't an attempted pit the guy fishtailed the turn and the police drove right into the truck causing a pit maneuver effect to the truck and the impact of the collision made it turn to it's side.

  • Wow!!! Thats not a good way to do a pit maneouver!! Shouldnt the cop do the pit maneouver on the rear bumper??

  • also, please notice that the police officers did not attempt the pit maneuver near the black truck as everybody believes. The van fish-tailed through the turn. Keep in mind these criminal's were speeding, going 90 miles per hour in a school zone. Thankfully, nobody was hurt, yet we try to cut these people a break, and say the officer's are stupid for doing this and that, and they need to go back to driving school. Please think before you type, and replay the video more than once or twice.

  • excessive force? no way! The cop rammed the roof of the van to keep the driver ( and passenger if there was one ) stunned. Better to keep them stunned then have them try to attempt a foot chase also.

  • What if those in the van were very tall? The suspects were already basically trapped by the flip. They would have had to try very hard to run and get away with cops on their backs.

  • and besides, it is SLIGHTLY excessive, primarily for the roof ram.

  • better safe than sorry, if they had escaped, even for a few moments, and hurt somebody we would be singing a different tune. ( about how our officers don't protect us ) I don't understand how it is excessive even slightly. To be honest, after something like a car chase where they endangered many many lives, I feel like him ( or they ) should lose certain rights once they do this.

  • all i can say is Drivers Ed for those cops.. need to understand dangers of PIT Before u attempt with so many cars so close

  • i agree, the black truck could easily have been hit

  • These guys needed to be stopped before they hurt someone. The safety of those who are running isn't as important as the safety of the civilians they might have endangered had the chase continued. I think the officers acted appropriatly. I don't think it was intentional to flip the van, but even if it was, I wouldn't cry about it.

  • After watching it again i notice that the car that hits the van ran into another police car just before hitting the van

  • How not? did the chase stop? YES did anyone else get hurt? NO where is the problem

  • It's an open question. It did effectively end the chase, but ramming the roof was overkill. The (Not?) is to imply that the pit was very... weird.

  • yeah that was kinda funny maybe it was toprevent the guy from running by knocking him over after getting on his feet inside the van or because the officer came around the corner and wham the van was right there

  • He probably had not got on his feet. He was probably in his seat belt or thrown to the side of the van. I have no idea why he rammed the van roof, it was probably a silly action in the heat of the chase.
