OMG you were beautiful then and you are beautiful now! I know how you feel, about not knowing how to feel. I was overweight as a child and when I was 13 I lost the baby fat FAST. It was hard going from people saying I was pudgy, to "oh you look good" then to, gee you need to gain some weight (I got too skinny). And now I'm having a new idenity crisis cause I weigh a lot now, and I want to go back to being skinny again. I understand cause I've been there before.
As a person who had gastric bypass I can totally relate. I have struggled with my body image too. The tough part of changing the outside is trying to change the inside as people see you. the other thing is how people treat me now and it's usually good but non the less they act different towards me. these two videos are great and you look awesome too. another 5 star video......
Thanks for posting this video....it is so helpful to see the emotional changes that come with this surgery.....I know it takes courage to put yourself out there.....but please keep the vids coming!
omg amber I thought I was the only one feeling this way!!! Thank you for putting this out there. I am gonna make a video tonight in response to this!!! I am feeling the exact same way you are!!!
you have always been beautiful..before, during, after...its the changes in our features that are hard to wrap around and if we never told ourselves we were beautiful or never got that positive reinforcement from other people it is really really hard to wrap our minds around. plus,we had our before faces for lots of years and this new one takes a while to get use to. its new to us even if somewhat familiar.
Yes, we did have the surgery for health, but we'd be lying if we didn't admit we want to be more physically attractive. I don't think there is something wrong with that. Amber, honestly you were always beautiful. Now you shine!! You deserve to shine and be proud of it. take care - jenn
i totally understand what you are saying!...i know its hard...but i think you were beautiful when you were heavy too!...
i kinda feel like that when people tell me that..even though im still a big girl..i look so different form this 105 pound loss...now instead of "oh you have the prettiest face"..its starting to be "omg Debbie you are so gorgeous"...i kind of don't know if they are just telling me that to make me feel good or if they really mean it....
I finally made a youtube accnt, yeah little slow in the times! Anyways, when you talk about how you feel, you sing my song. I cried with you, I wonder with you, I totally understand and get where you are coming from. It is amazing yet its weird. I pass people by who knew me fat that don't recognize me now. They don't even say hello b/c they DO NOT know me as I am now. When I say hello, they say, who are you? that is almost disturbing sometimes. Its strange, I get it. *hugs* your fan.
I love you Mel! I am so glad we connected. Thank you for hearing me, and for feeling what I feel and letting me know I am not alone! <3 Love ya girl! xoxo (I'm your fan! :) )
I hope you know where to start with my comments towards your video... it didn't seem to go in the order I wanted it too.. lol Good luck .. & I apologize with being so long.
I got it. :) Thank you so much for taking the time to write to me. You are right about a lot and I know it will take time to adjust. Thank you for the kindness and for your honestly. :)
Then to self reflect our own images. Our mind over rules alot w/ us til we find our true selves. Eitherway u're a outstanding mother & by the comment ur hubby made while u went out. You're a great wife.
Also note the way you handle yourself while you're online you're very decent & respectful about yourself, your children, your friends
& others throughout youtube land. You're gorgeous girl. Keep smiling Bella Chacha!Take care keep safe always of you & yours.
I do know how you feel honestly being up & down w/ my own size & weight being my #1 enemy but it also was my form of comfort
from getting hurt for many of years. I don't think any woman will ever get past that struggle. As we see alot of beautifying through air brushing & so forth in magazines & movies for years.
I'm just being honest & straight forward. True beauty shines brightly from the inside to out.
It's hard for 1 to adjust & adapt to when we've lived a life on the pleasantly plump side til we lose 1/2 people in WL wise.
Eitherway to get to my point w/o trying to come across as gay/sucking up for brownie points.I've seen several of your videos from start to now.You were pretty then too.
Amber - maybe what you aren't seeing is that in that old picture, yes you are overweight - but you are still BEAUTIFUL! I really believe that we have to see the beauty in ourselves at any stage in life. Just because we lose weight doesn't mean we automatically find ourselves beautiful. We have to learn to see it in ourselves no matter what weight - although being thinner does help. ;)

It's the fear of seeing that old face again and again and again.... the face you wear now has always been there... you just didn't know it.
