I thought at the beginning that Jodie had a good voice, but her performances became repetitive as she only ever did ballads.
Other singers had at least 1 exciting performance, but she didn't have any. She'll be a reliable Nancy, but a very dull one.
Rachel was a better actress and her voice has more warmth and depth to it. Jessie has more potential than Jodie, but she probably wouldn't have been ready in time. Sam wasn't even remotely suited to the role of Nancy.

There's been so much debate about whether Nancy should be 'older' or 'younger'. I think it's more about who can convey the complex character of Nancy. To my mind, this is way out Sam's league, whose performances tend to be 2-dimensional. I think Jodie could do it.
