JO does not care about winning. He cares about playing. It may sound paradox, but that's why he has won everything. And that's why he will not stop playing, even if he does not win everything anymore.
@NoSpeechForTheDumb Haha, you don´t know a shit about J-O thats clear! I know that guy, and there is no one in the worlds that cares about winning and hates to lose so much as J-O. In these days he plays because he is afraid of quiting. He has no family, no life besides tabletennis, thats why he plays in these days, he has nothing but his career.. But he hates to lose, and he feel really bad when he loses to players like this..
Die beiden Schiedsrichter scheinen früher Syncromschwimmer gewesen zu sein. Göttlich wie sie im ersten Satz beim Stand 3 zu 1 für Floritz erst auf Protest von Waldi ihm den Punkt gaben.
he is retired from major competition, like big tournaments (worlds, european, etc), he plays in the leagues because they pay him well, and he draws... plus i think he needs the money.
waldner is a living legend no question but when he loses to such a no name he really should more then think about to retire....better he had quitted last season. poor waldi

@adaolo002 Uhhh, can I get an autograph of Your Highness, the best personal friend of Jan-Ove Waldner? :)
First thing: Owning a restaurant chain in China for example is not nothing in my eyes. That and all the merchandise will earn his living easily.
Second thing: Nobody likes losing, but JO does not look like crying at the end. He is not Chen Weixing. ;)

If you love the game as much as Waldi does and people gave you opportunities to continue playing would you retire?
