My first rod still worked even after reaching 360 degrees F. Using a squire cage blower the single rod would cool to 97 degrees F.

At what temp does enamel on coil blacken I wonder ? Nobox7 knows I'll bet ya.

I know it darken some where in the 200 degree area and after many runs above 300F the enamal came off.

Seems not to want to go any lower than 2 to 2.25 volts when warmed up, but I think that is low enough, just curious how low it can go and still produce ? I've heard about 1.87 or so. Gary
Of course I'm running coils with 100 to 60 turns of #20, were as hhoforvolts is using I think 60 to 60 turns of #16 ? Gary
