Video game music is music made for games, as such, they have composers or artists that make them, I don't know what's "not real" about that. In general, video game music is music made for video games. It'd be the same for music made for movies, shows, whatever else.

It is a tad bit nerdy to listen to video game music, but hey, I've heard a song from a Zelda game, Wind Waker, was used for a marriage, if I'm not mistaken. Pretty funny indeed...
