This is what the word must do! make you look at yourself and say "am I really getting this thing right" Francis' messages have that effect and it's all based on scripture. 1 Peter 1- 24. for “All flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls, 25. but the word of the Lord remains forever.” And this word is the good news that was preached to you.

Yes, they are terms for believers. And the 'luke-warm' church is believers who are in Christ. The term 'spitting out of His mouth' is just that - an expression.

Chan seems to teach you be 'hardcore' like him or else you are a real big disappointment.  Anyways, I hope Chan gets over his troubles. Nobody enjoys someone hassling everyone with their frustrations.

Chan is a man after Gods Heart. I pray God can mold my life into the life of Jesus. I pray my heart can be after Gods Heart. Forget it all this life. I just want that.

Francis echoes what D. James Kennedy (founder of Evangelism Explosion) said once which is that, "95% of the American church is unsaved, and I say that without any hesitation." Although it may not be 95%, the point he made is the same point Francis is making. And if you study the hard teaching of Christ you would probably agree.

Most of us aren't going to heaven and that is the reality. Most of people are selfish and self centered. Sad but true, I am not gonna bury my head in the sand. How much money have average people donate to the poor vs spending on entertainment and nonessential material good. What percentage of American spend their nonworking hours on helping the poor and homeless and volunteering. Most of us aren't worthy to be in the kingdom of almighty Jesus.

What impresses me the most about Francis Chan is that he lives the life as he preached. He "gave up" a multimiilion dollar Church at Simi, which he founded and head for inner city to reach out more lost souls. He doesn't dress or wear expensive clothes and jewelries. He donated over a million dollar he made from his books. This is how a true believer live his life.This guy is going to heaven and most of us aren't.

@noformstyle - You cannot judge whether a person is going to heaven based on their works. It's true that a life that is truly surrendured to God should show fruit and we tend to think those people are the ones going to heaven, but salavation is a matter of the heart, between each individual and our Creator. So to make the statement that Francis Chan is going to heaven and most of "us" aren't is inappropriate. The real message is, if we say we belong to God,we need to live it out loud.God bless u

@noformstyle - people thought the same about Judas. I am certainly not saying I don't think Francis Chan is saved. I believe he is based on what I see. But you said that "most of us" aren't going to heaven and F.C. is based solely on his visible works. My point to you is, God looks at our heart, and only he can truly see our heart. So don't count the rest of "us" out so quickly :))

@noformstyle I do agreed with you Francis Chan really practice what the early church did in the book of acts. he Talks The Walks and he Walks the Talks! If all the church pastors live like him and teach like him i believe the christian world be different and will make a different...we all Saved by Grace not by works (eph2;8-9) and we shall work out our salvation and Fear HIM ! ;)

@noformstyle none of us are worthy of being in the kingdom of heaven! Even Francis Chan is a sinner, I hope you know that. It's not about what you do; you do not "earn" your way into heaven. We get there by his loving grace and the fact that he sent his Son to take the death that we deserve. Everyone is selfish and unclean and nothing we can do by our own power makes us clean. It's HIM that gets us to heaven, not us :)

@noformstyle I agree that he is living a great life and is putting God first, but that doesn't make his chances of getting into heaven any better. As long as your a baptised believer, you're welcome in heaven! We are saved by the blood of Christ, not by any deeds that we can do

@apachejonathan Jeffrey Dahmer was baptised in prison and he is no way going to heaven. In fact, I am pretty sure he is in hell.

@noformstyle Now you're trying to play God. If he repented from his sins, and truly accepted God into his heart when he was baptised, he'll be in heaven. The bible is very clear that ANYONE can get into heaven if they have a personal relationship with our Creator. What Dahmer dd makes me as angry as anyone, but you might be seeing him in heaven. That's between him and God. But if we go with your way of thinking, then the apostle Paul probably won't be in heaven either
