I don't see what the big deal is between skateboarding or ripstick etc. One isn't better than the other. It's just personal preference. I personally need something that I can use without repeatidly having to push. So I would choose the ripstick. Plus, it's a challenge to learn how to use them. So I like learning new things. It's just what you like to do and/or what your preferences are.

I'm a snowboarder looking for an equivalent activity for the summer months. I'm not very satisfied with skateboarding as it doesn't feel or maneuver enough like a snowboard. Ripstiking looks to resemble snowboarding more.. but is jumping off really the only way to stop? Because when going down steeper terrain that is extremely inconvenient/ potentially dangerous. I hate the people that say Ripstiks are easy as shit compared to skateboards. I've been a skateboarder / longboarder for 8 years and ripstiks are awesome cuz you can gain speed without using your speed which lets you focus more. And you actually have to use balence to use a ripstik.

(red and silver) it is so easy and fun to ride!!!!!! i learned to rip in 1 day!! getting on without holding on to something took about 2 weeks (i learned from jelousy. i was jelous my friend could get on for the first time without holding something so i did it)
