  • Me ncantaa!!!! Q pasion!!

  • Buenizimo!!!!! Amo esta cancionn

  • I've forgotten how much I loved this song. The full 6 minutes was like an aural roller-coaster, with me in tears toward the end. There are no words to describe the genius of Joe Hisaishi.

  • how could anyone press the dislike button on this?

  • who is the trumpet player? why is he playing a "C" trumpet as apposed to a regular Bb trumpet?

  • @TheRedKnightOfPain Most of the time, the piece is transposed to Bb trumpet since the piece is written in a concert key of C....so it just makes playing what is written on the page easier

  • @TheRedKnightOfPain The concert key is probably C, so transcribing it is easier; the trumpeter may also be more familiar with a C trumpet, you never know.

  • magnifique

  • Joe Hisaishi is my motivation and inspiration to keep playing the piano, nowadays. I learned everything that I wanted to play, but as soon as I hear a composition from Joe, It makes me wanna learn more.

  • the trumpeter is amazing!

  • i think theyre 3 years too late to intro the Chuck Norris joke to World of Warcraft

  • Laputa <3

Watched the movie yesterday . BEAUTIFUL <3

This is one of my favourites . LOVE LOVE LOVE JOE HISAISHI .

    Genius.

  • Great.................

  • I can not say it is so sublime a genius Joe Hisaishi a virtuoso on the earth will thank you for a pure delight for the ears

  • Every one of his songs gives me the chills. So beautiful.

  • i agree. what a trumpet!

  • WOW the guy playing the trumpet it fantastic!!

  • Joe Hisaishi's a genius, the trumpet player's awesome too.

  • I am not understanding how people can dislike this. Really?

  • who is this trumpeter?

  • @dotanostars Tim Morrison I believe.

  • Hisaishi truly composes songs that speak to the heart.

  • 21 people fell off the castle of laputa.

  • Must.... Stop.... Crying!!!!

  • 5:46...So beautiful....

  • no hay nada mejor que la musica ambiental en este mundo, empezo con final fantasy y hasta el dia de hoy no paro de escuchar orquestas.!

  • hay dos personas que no tienen ni alma ni gusto por la buena musica

  • This is GREAT!

  • Como hablo español,en mi idioma expreso que:

A Hisaishi,a la Nueva Orquesta Filarmónica de Japón,

y al virtuosísimo trompetista Tim Morrison

    no me canso de escucharlos/as.

Porque es escuchar una música mágica y profunda,

    que hace sutil,

el aliento de la vida y de su fin,

en un solo interminable de belleza.

  • wow , there is like another nicer version of animation medley ..

  • I wish I was the trumpet player and played next to the greatest japanese, and even asiatic, composer... ♫♥ Joe Hisaishi forever ♥♫

  • touching. a feeling of life

  • @kirasiah: Your comment reads as a joke. It isn't pronounced La Puta. It's pronounced Lapu-ta.

As for the spelling, people still find therapists helpful, even though the name is twice as terrible...

And lastly, it was a brilliant film. (And it came from a brilliant book...)

  • Excuse me, but I always thought the title of this movie was a fucking joke. I'll explain now why:

    "La=The" in some latin languages like Spanish;

"puta=bitch" in some languages, but specially in Portugal and Brazil.

"The Bitch". I'm sorry, but it's just too hilarious...

  • @Kirasiah

You should do your research. Jonathan Swift, the author of the book 'Gulliver's Travels', named the flying city Laputa on purpose. It's commonly believed that he knew what La Puta meant and therefore, he named the floating city as a hidden little joke. He was known for being a satyrical author like that, the idea of the story is what is amazing, who cares about the name of the city, this is one of the greatest movies of all time.

  • @LikeElephantsBand Thank you for the information x)

  • @Kirasiah Yeah i know what you mean. ._. I live in a border town and when we where going to play this in an ensemble, we all started to laugh. :P Regardless of that, this is still piece and a nice movie.

  • if i was tim morrison. (the trumpete player.) I would be able to die happy.

  • where's the music when they fall and the crystal lets them float? that music is sureal

  • 3.40-3.55 best moment since the creation of the world

  • So that everyone stops wondering, the trumpet soloist is named Timothy Morrison.

  • @tmad40blue thank you!

  • just wow

  • This is such a wonderful piece. I could listen to it again and again and never get tired of it. The best part for me was around 6 min in when you see Hisaishi's expressions on his face. You can really tell that he's poured his heart and soul into every note and you can see the joy it brings him to hear it, just as it was brought to me and, I'm sure, the rest of you.

  • anyone else notice the little hisses that keep popping up? it's really annoying and I don't think it's my speakers because it happens on my headphones too.

  • @connerisawsome its happening to me too. I think its the video

  • @connerisawsome happens to me too. its annoying. lil puffs of noise ruinin the song for me

  • @boycempakan Not a song. The puffs are easily ignored by the beautiful orchestral sounds. GTFO

  • exquisite..

  • C'est tres belle! J'adore j'adore! Encoure! Encoure!

  • This is a wonderful piece of music. How can I get a DVD of this film of the concert? Anyone knows?

  • Joe Hisaishi es un maestro de maestro, su música en realmente maravillosa yo le daría un Millón de votos

  • when I listen to this weird whispery "Shoops" keep happening. It is not my computer, since it never happens with any other videos or anything. Wonderful piece though.

  • I get chills everytime I hear this.

  • this trumpeter. is so dam ngood.

  • It's so good. I like it very much

  • not sure if i like this variation/rearrangement. i find quite a few parts being redundant and cheesy. the original cd version is still the best to me, altho i love joe and still thinks he's god.

  • @5:48.. the worse place to fail in this piece... you can even see Joe depressed... Percussion was late... and Violins not emotional enough...

  • @vincntius i just thought he was getting invested in the song?

  • @vincntius the vid is not in synch with the sound. none of the conducting "looks" to be on beat anyway. he just looks emotionally invested to me...

  • @gyouza114 Actually, the video is in sync with the sound, maybe it looks syncopated to you? I dunno, just a suggestion.

  • @vincntius nope, no mistake there.

  • @CTRLJUN Yea.. i realized.. this video version is bad.. i saw another version of the same thing. pretty perfect.

  • im the 400,00 viewer :D

    Love this movie

  • I watched this anime and listened to this song 10 years ago, kind of miss the old days

  • if i was there , i'll stand up shout "BRAVO" hahaha .

  • Goshhhh

he can compose, play and conduct!!!

  • @JTanis That's usually a given for most composers.

  • There are 17 people I won't get along with. How can one NOT like this?!?!

  • Joe hisaishi is a genius, one of the greatest composers in the world today. One day people will look back at his music in the same way as we see mozart today.

  • @zendolian just saying but i view him higher then Mozart. Quite frankly Mozart doesn't move me as much as Joe hisaishi's music does

  • @hellsascendant So so true. But im just saying that he will be held in such high regard as mozart is.

  • @zendolian And you know what makes that great? He'll be seen as the great composer of something like the "International classicalism era."

And the best part? they'll have the media to see what his performances were like, which we unfortunately do not have for so many great classical composers.

  • @zendolian

Except, unlike Mozart, there will available videos like this one to give people a clear image of how he was like.

  • Triumphed Genius! Another Hisaishi gem!

  • what is this song's name?

  • i think Mr. Hisaishi places trumpet just well in his music, he makes his works epic with that.

  • You love true music, if you're here. Than listen to this: watch?v=6FHYkYQnHig

  • When I heard this song when I was younger, I went to my dad and said, "Pa, I want to learn to play the trumpet!!!!"

  • Inspiring music!

Repairs all broken souls and make us ponder about life.

Have a great and fruitful new year people:)

  • Inspiring music!!

    repairs all broken souls

Have a great and fruitful new ear people:)

  • Tous Simplement Extraordinaire :D Vraiment Magnifique !!

  • 17 people are fan of Marylin Manson . . .

  • @zerkabal Well I am, and I certainly clicked the like button here a helluva lot more than I would have for Marilyn Manson.

  • @bumbubbler

Dude, Marilyn Manson belongs in not just another catagory from here, he belongs in another universe!

    This is real music here!

  • I want to have sex with the guy who wrote this song :o (srsly no homo)

  • Is the trumpet in the key of C?

  • That trumpet player looks just like the conductor , except for their age .. LOL !!

  • Magnifico, hermoso; realmente excelentes grandes músicos y la melodía sublime

  • 令人震撼......也令人感動啊!讚!

  • i hope to use the first part of this in my wedding one day ^_^

  • It is so hard to have a specific favorite when it comes to Joe Hisaishi's works of art.

  • 4:00 best trumpet part

  • @welllch plus 5:25

  • that trumpet player makes me want to play one even though I have never wanted to play one before

  • who's the trumpet player? he looks familiar.

  • interesting how Hisaishi doesn't conduct with a baton.

  • you can find sheet music on ichigos.com

  • @welllch - I think the only part you can find on ichigos is Laputa - Castle in the Sky, and it is for piano- simply transpose to trumpet or any other instrument.

  • EPIC EARGASM!!!

  • hmm anyone knows where can i find this dvd?! that is just epic...

  • @impyciwt I recorded the french version from french tv, but in the US I ordered it from Netflix. If anyone doesn't already have netflix they should it's really worth it

  • This Laputa Medley consists of two tracks

    1. Pigeons and a boy 0:00 - 2:07

    2. Laputa ~ Castle in the Sky 2:08 - 4:55

    Returns to #1 until 5:22

and again finishes from there to end with the main theme, Castle in the Sky.

In case there was any confusion.

  • @FF4eternity Thanks

  • @ 5:40 I think is the "MOST EPIC" a musical orcechestra can ever possilbly achieve... but I'm not biased XD

  • Whenever I am feeling bad, I listen to this.. Beyond words.

  • I love how this music has the transition of emotions, such as beginning as a cheerful melody, then going to a sad melody then, a climax ending, wonderful!!

  • Bach, Beethoven, and Mozart are jealous of the awesomeness that is Joe Hisaishi!

  • Thanks so much for share wonderful music for public, that being encouragement for more people. ^ ^

  • what's is the song ? or link the music

  • @merypanzy This music is from Castle In the Sky if you look up trumpet, castle in the sky im sure you might get some results up

  • Does anyone know if this piece is in an album? I really want to buy it, but I found only the symphonic version of the soundtrack and it contains a different arrangement. Thank you.

  • @abePdIta you can find part of it on i tunes

  • @welllch Thank you! :) I'll take a look at iTunes, sooner or later. :)

  • I've been seeing this video 500 times in the last 3 years! :)

He's not really good, he's the best!!!

  • I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS SONG FOREVER!

  • 16 people deserved to be shot

  • is it just me, or does it kinda looks like theyre having fun? i wanna join in ^^

  • moooooooola!!xD

  • 家のパソコンを裏で操って操作している人がいるみたいです!。文章を打つときでも関係ないところに他所にすぐにクリックされてしまいます!!。

  • Isnt Hisaishi-sama so happy looking when he conducts! He is my freaking hero. I would be too if I had musics this fantastic surging through my mind. If he didnt write music for a living he would be an angry garbage man sitting in a Sendai bar bitching all day about everything. His life is 1 that is truly blessed.

  • really a beautiful song!!

  • I really can't play in this orchestra, EVEN IF I had enough skill to play with them...

    you know why?

'cause tears and my shaking hands wouldn't be able to handle any instruments while playing this masterpiece.

  • @IISTEINWAYandSONSII

You're not alone in that category pal, i'd be guilty of that myself

  • @IISTEINWAYandSONSII I know what you mean and I still get the shivers no matter how many concerts I play. Yet if it is of any encouragement - you kinda 'get used to the piece'. As in, you go for rehearsals and all that, and after enough times of playing it along with the orchestra, the "paralysing-magic" disappears after a while and you're left with just the "magic". :-) Nothing takes the magic away from music but I hope you understand what I'm trying to say....

  • kerennnnn....

  • i love the music...the video is in great quality.. butt whats the little noice im keep hearing the little "tiiis" im keep hearing?

  • @animemily3027 low quality compression. What a pity.

  • @abePdIta aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh yea it is really irritated for people that love insturmental.......

  • What I love about Joe Hisaishi and what makes him my favourite composer... Is that I not only love his music but I love watching him perform. He always looks like he's really happy up there, it makes me happy, too.

  • what was the other famous japanese conductor named like kisato or smoething i cant remember his name =[

  • nice uplifting music! love it JOe!

  • wasnt this from castle in the sky? its a verry good song! and movie! :D XD

  • Does anyone know where I can get the full musical score for this song?

I want to convince our conductor to play this on our next concert :D

  • I would probably die in the audience from the awesomeness of this. What's more, I wonder how the orchestra deals with it when playing such an emotional piece of music. The climax literally knocked me out of my seat, like the old Memorex commercial when the guy pops in the tape and is blown away by his speakers.

  • what movie played this?? it sounds soo familiar yet i cant put my finger on it

  • @YouFailBigTime123

    Laputa :)

  • @YouFailBigTime123

    Laputa :)

  • It's so beautiful it brought exactly 3 tears to my eyes. Either 3:40 or 4:44 was my favorite part, I can't decide which.

  • dammit... this music stirs up emotions deep inside of you. i don't want to cry but dammit i'm crying!!!

  • i couldnt stop smiling after watching this! his music is amazing! ^.^

  • This is so awesome and in Japan also! :) Beautiful!!!!!!

  • I always have this memory of seeing Laupta whilst I was a child and being deathly scared of the robot. This song is just fantastic. Am I alone in that this song makes me think back to when I was a child watching anime? Back when it was so alien to see something of power, of emotion, of intelligence that was animated?

Listening to this I wish I could go back then, when I first saw this film and all the others with the wonder of not knowing what will happen next. Incredible.

  • Your music really touch my feeling----> give hope and at the same time make me fly and cry---> such a wonderful melody---> Thanks Joe and the Team

  • amazing!!!!

  • I really feel like may be I can fly after I finished this song. Well done Joe Hisaishi!

  • at 3:20 absolute ear-gasm

  • 5:48 MUSICAL EMOTION MADNESSS!

    Beutifull

  • beautiful trumpet solo!! he has such a wonderful tone and timbre in his playing!! oh the joy of wonderful musicians and beautiful compositions!! :]

  • Sé que mi idioma japonés no es el natal, sin embargo, ruego por que la New Japan Philharmonic Dream World Orchestra venga a México.

  • seeing Joe Hisaishi's concert and Nobuo Uematsu's live... I think I'd cry throughout both. The whole range of emotions u go through just listening to all of it .. indescribable...

  • I love how passionate Hisaishi-san is about music, makes my heart flutter :)

I loved the whole thing, absolutely wonderful!

  • Holy crap @ 2:05! Amazing!

    the perfect orchestra i heard

  • awesome!

    i love joe hisaishi's music!

  • HI Joe, it's just wonderful.

    Greetings from Portugal

  • I cried after watching this DVD.

it's such a very rare, hidden gem, to be able to find the DVD in my country (Indonesia)!

I've always been a fan of Joe Hisaishi, ever since I've watched all the Ghibli anime series.

but after watching this Dream World performance,...my heart is just soo full of untold beautiful, moving emotions,

the only thing that only GREAT music can invoke!

  • @nikiwonoto not the "only thing" lol

  • @nikiwonoto Thats Great! :)

  • @nikiwonoto i live there too. you're lucky to be able to know about him far before me. i know him just from a year ago (end of 2009).

  • i love 3:19 <3
