Both are great singers, but their styles are too different. The song is supposed to be more classical and flowing. She tried to make it have more pop and flare, which doesn't work for the song. The song should be sung in one style or the other, but not at the same time.

They both have beautiful voices, but Beyonce's voice is meant to have 'attitude', lots of vibrato and be loud. Josh Groban's voice is meant to be soft, but strong. It's an interesting mix, but probably better suited for an upbeat song.

Everyone is right, Beyonce was trying to harmonize with Josh Groban, but she sang how she normally sings. So even though she had the pitch right, the way she sang it was much different from Josh Groban. (Both were beautiful though ^-^)

@nicktabus1000 if your sense of tone is accute (not saying yours isn't), then you can hear that she IS in fact singing the harmony. the harmony doesn't mean that it sounds good. the harmony is simply different notes in the key chords. of course there are also rules but beonce is singing the harmony. and for her vibrato, it does sound forced but vibrato is affected by force of the abdomen. the way beonce is singing is powerful and strong so the vibrato only natural that it sounds like that.
