@MsKas86 yes they are. Gdansk was a real surprise for me. i really loved it. even took some american friends there for a trip while they visited me up in lithuania. thanks for watching and commenting. please subscribe!
@epicureabovarista I kind of limited eastern europe to behind the iron curtain... and former yugoslavia was a whole other "thing" and istanbul is turkey so different too. but yeah if i included those two country then those two places would definately be on the list :)
i love the fact you did this video! For me Eastern Europe its probably one of my favourite places in the world, I feel so at home. Im half Polish and my boyfriend is Lithuanian :)
@mons2010 I am glad you like the videos and thank you for the compliments. We are planning on a Balkan trip this Winter/Spring so if we get it set up expect more videos from Croatia, Serbia, etc. Loved Poland and loved Lithuania so you seem to have a good couple thing going there :)
@Duster13375 Its not horrible, i just felt there were better cities to check out first. The peasant museum in bucharest is really great and there is a park that has building from all over romania in it, and that is one of the coolest open air museums i have ever been too. unfortunatley the city was "redone" by the former and now shot president who leveled a lot of the beauty to make way for cement cement and a bit more cement. though it is actually worht a look
@woltersworld Thanks. The Ukraine trip will go to L'viv and surrounding Polish castles, such as Khotyn and Kamenets Podolsky, and the Romania trip will go to the capital and the castles of Transylvania,, but I will probably take the Romania trip because apparently Ukraine isn't safe for tourists.
@Duster13375 yeah transylvania is actually really great. i did love up in brasov and sibiu and sigasora. really neat to see. and they have been gettting good subsidies to rebuild historic sites so that sounds like a cool trip (bucharest is in the south so you really dont need to go there, just head to transylvania)
@woltersworld I'm also taking a bus trip to London and Paris and possibly Amsterdam. Last year I went with some family members on a road trip through Central Europe and it was fun. I hate it how in America people think that either a) Britain and France are the only places worth seeing in Europe and the rest of the continent is poor villages or b) don't know what Europe is other than Britain or France.
@Duster13375 I know what you mean. that is why i try to get videos from "other" parts of europe for my US fans. Not just UK and France. I actually am only going to be filming my first france videos this summer after years of doing this. so kind of funny. cool to hear about your travels! keep it up!
@Duster13375 Bucharest isn't meant for tourism. It's the capital, and home to corrupt politicians, sketchy casinos and clubs, communist blocs, horrendous traffic, congestion, and out of place glass office buildings between the communist buildings. It's the financial capital, so everyone is uptight and always in a rush. Its not a bad or dangerous city (its not baghdad or anything), but theres nothing there for tourists. The nightlife is good though, awesome bars, restaurants and clubs.
Uh-huh, so you met our infamous militia). What an assholes, excuse my French. If you ever make another love-hate reviews about Europe and include worst cops, Russian ones must be on top of the list.
@xbornstubbornx oh yeah, it was quite an experience. the best was when they were "fining" us and wanted us to sign some documents. I could read a little russian and we were signing parking/traffic tickets. It was like out of a movie with the four cops and the big old van. But it was a great night in St. petersburg so it kind of fit with the whole evening. Great city
@xbornstubbornx Thank you. I could not think of it right off the top of my head. I appreciate the correction. It is an amazing city. I loved it! Even with my run in with the militia :) Fun times fun times!
Hey! I am Polish, and I agree- Gdansk and Kraków are amazing!
