Just got 7015 with 2.3 installed. My apk files don't show up on my SD card, but I do have an app called APK Installer. It installs the z4root file, but when I attempt to run it to root the device I only get as far as "Aquiring root shell..." and then it takes a dump throwing me back into the home screen. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks for the help.
when ever i put in the "mv /system/etc/install-recovery.sh /system/etc/install-recovery.sh.bak" it tells me that "failed on bla bla bla no such file or directory".
i press go to z4 root and open it and then when i press permanent root it seems to work for about 30 seconds until it closes and brings me to my main kyros home screen i need help!
Love your video. I just purchased the coby 7015, am loving it. I would add a note here, When I went to the coby site to upload that update you talk about, they said to check your model number, because your tablet may not even need the update. I looked where they said to, and sure enough, my model number ended with an A, so instead of being a 7015, it was a 7015A. I highly recommend these tablets to anyone looking for a solid low priced tablet.

@install the original firmware,on a sd card. do this by hold the power and back button(silver button on side) when that comes up it will show in red on the upper right corner various choices first go to wipe and erase , not sure if thats the right words but you cani't miss it. after that go to install firmare that will bring your compurter to its oriiginal state
now my 7015 won't even give me the applications as far as it will go is all applications and all games. I followed everything, and I even got the market up and running. My problem is that there are no apps available, even when I search for Solitaire. It tells me the "No matching content in Android Market" for everything! fustrating...it the fixable?

hi i have a7015 and i followed your instructions and it worked great for about 2 weeks. @phase3d Thanks for the reply. That's one of the problems, it won't let me install anything but andexplorer and term-emulator. every other app on the sd won't install, say's parsing error or something of the sort. Thinking maybe not rooting. Will the other apps still work if I can get it to uzip?
I am going to try this on the MID7012, i have not seen anyone yet post that they have successfully done it. If anyone has more info about that model let me know. but also fyi to some of you, don't forget that there is AmazonAppStore now too. and i did get Netflix from them and games like Angry Birds, they have MOST not all but most of the major apps. just wanted to pass that bit along.
@WHI420 got to amazon.com and click on Apps by amazon and it will offer you to download their appstore. it give away 1 free paid app a day and if you download the mp3 store they have a free song of the day or a discounted song/album of the day. and if you buy an album you get their cloud storage. i love it i can use it anywhere and save space on my phone.
did you use the same links that were in the video description? and do i have to use the computer to get them. because when i tried to download them to my tablet, it said my tablet didnt support it for some reason
@bigboithaboss You should be able to download from either one, but if your tablet won't let you then use the computer, then move them over to the tablet. I uploaded all the files in the video description. I didn't use them, I made them for you guys to use.

I'm having a problem with the video at the androidtablets forum point, it seems to skip and I'm not sure what and how I get from this site... All I see are threads for discussion.
I installed the update and then installed andexplorer after doing that i went to root and then sdcard and dont see but 3 drop downs which are go to up folder, lost.dir, and update.zip. I dont see the other 7 drop downs andexplorer.apk through z4root.1.3.0.apk. I was wondering why i cant see them what i did wrong and how to fix them because i dont think i can go any further without these drop downs. Help please

I have found your tutorial the best out there and had to use the "work around fix" and everything went like butter.
Only One issue ....market is not working, facebook app is not working.

@BlackhawkTattoo Someone has changed something to make the market act like that. I would suggest searching the net for 7015, cause I know there is a couple ROMs out there now that would fix that problem. Also I think there is a market fix available.

i have a kyros tablet that i set a pattern passcode to it, after not using it, with the time i forgot the passcode, how can i get access or delete the passcode?

@OIPproductions This video shows how to do it without a computer. You can still use the computer to download the files and move them over using a USB cable.

@mlevario1026 As I don't know how to enter a new question i 'll use this I have 7015 which is rooted etc and have android market installed. my problem is as of yesterday when i start the marktet it comes no apps found. it the same on my friends kyros and my sons is there something wrong with my program? i used the above video to intall it . please help is it possible that the server is down and causing this problem thanks Amanda

I have a mid7015. downloaded all the files above to an sd card. tried to apply sd card update and I get a different error: "assert failed: !Less_than_int(1290686740, getprop("ro.build.date.utc"))"
E:Error in /sdcard/update.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted
now what? as it won't let me do anything past this point.
Any help from anyone would help, thanks in advance.

@phase3d Thanks for the reply. That's one of the problems, it won't let me install anything but andexplorer and term-emulator. every other app on the sd won't install, say's parsing error or something of the sort. Thinking maybe not rooting. Will the other apps still work if I can get it to uzip?

I am going to try this on the MID7012, i have not seen anyone yet post that they have successfully done it. If anyone has more info about that model let me know. but also fyi to some of you, don't forget that there is AmazonAppStore now too. and i did get Netflix from them and games like Angry Birds, they have MOST not all but most of the major apps. just wanted to pass that bit along.

@WHI420 got to amazon.com and click on Apps by amazon and it will offer you to download their appstore. it give away 1 free paid app a day and if you download the mp3 store they have a free song of the day or a discounted song/album of the day. and if you buy an album you get their cloud storage. i love it i can use it anywhere and save space on my phone.

@bigboithaboss You should be able to download from either one, but if your tablet won't let you then use the computer, then move them over to the tablet. I uploaded all the files in the video description. I didn't use them, I made them for you guys to use.

I installed the update and then installed andexplorer after doing that i went to root and then sdcard and dont see but 3 drop downs which are go to up folder, lost.dir, and update.zip. I dont see the other 7 drop downs andexplorer.apk through z4root.1.3.0.apk. I was wondering why i cant see them what i did wrong and how to fix them because i dont think i can go any further without these drop downs. Help please
