@thestegman100 Light make a crapload of mistakes himself, and only managed to pull through thanks to luck. Lelouch, despite his many, many screw ups and heaps of bad luck managed to pull through in the end with his own abilities and those of his allies. Of course, as Sancretor said, Lelouch isn't a detective, honestly, any matchup between Kira and Zero would be a stalemate, since there's no real way Light could learn zero's identity (mask blocks the eyes), and no way Lelouch could catch Kira.
@SteelFyire Although if I'd have to speculate one way or another, I'd go with Lelouch, since Geass is much better for "finding out stuff" than a death note. If Lelouch has any reason to suspect someone is or may know who Kira is, he could just Geass them into telling him the truth. I can't see any way light would be able to find out zeros identity without being in proximity to him/the Black Knights, so he'd be vulnerable to geass.

he will tell her to go back and spy on the black knights, to get as many names as possible,once she does this and returns Light will type in one of the names in a police database (let's say Ohgi's) once he finds Ohgi's face he will right down in the Death Note "Kaname Ohgi,commits suicide after killing the person he believes to be Zero"under the death note's influence, Ohgi will go to zero's quarters, kill him,then shoot himself, thus, Light wins without even meeting zero pt 3

As i said, Light wouldn't tell Takada who he is (Kira) until AFTER she gains Zero's trust, thus even if Zero does interrogate her, she would literally know nothing that would incriminate Light, a similar situation happened in Death Note when Light and Misa gave up their memories, they couldn't confess to a crime they didn't know they committed

Remember how Kira also has a name for himself (which makes it even harder to set-up this scenario because both have alternate-egos that have strong followings.) Kira has a more unifying publicity act in this manner since his identity allows people to construct their own definition of him, AKA the killer of criminals. He would have a slight advantage in the public.

Both have massive manipulation capabilities but again Kira's powers alone give him something supernatural everyone can fear while Lelouch will have to use his abilities effectively in the shadows. 1. Lelouch would have no idea who Light Yagami is
2. As i said, Light wouldn't tell Takada who he is (Kira) until AFTER she gains Zero's trust, thus even if Zero does interrogate her, she would literally know nothing that would incriminate Light, a similar situation happened in Death Note when Light and Misa gave up their memories, they couldn't confess to a crime they didn't know they committed

@SteelFyire there is no such clause in the Death Note saying that you can't indirectly kill someone, it says you can control a person's actions up to their death, Light himself said that you can make the person do anything you want as long as they're physically capable of doing it. The reason Light didn't kill L this way is obvious, in order to get someone to kill L, they would have to know him, the only ones who know L is the Task Force, who use aliases. pt 1

Though both are charismatic and can win people over with natural charm, Light simply has more experience in this matter since he never uses Geass. @JwzKid Not necessarily, Light has the ability to kill from any vantage point, thousands of miles away with just maskless Lelouch. Remember how Kira also has a name for himself (which makes it even harder to set-up this scenario because both have alternate-egos that have strong followings.) Kira has a more unifying publicity act in this manner since his identity allows people to construct their own definition of him, AKA the killer of criminals. He would have a slight advantage in the public.

Both have massive manipulation capabilities but again Kira's powers alone give him something supernatural everyone can fear while Lelouch will have to use his abilities effectively in the shadows. I think that light is better only because he uses his knowledge and intellict for more practical uses and it's in the everyday world. All he has is a notebook, and Lelouch has eyes that make you do anything {lol}. I compare people by how good they are on level ground and without the Death Note or Geass, Light beats Lelouch, with Death Note and Geass Lelouch wins. But that's just my opinion.

Well the way i see it you can make someone do anything with the death note i.e. kill zero.
but you can only make people do things as long as it's within something they would or could actually do if they weren't under the notes influence.
if someone were under geass say to be loyal to zero, they wouldn't naturally do that sort of thing, and if lelouch knew of thedeath note he would natuarlly use said geass on people around him.

Light knows how to use his power and he is far smarter and thorough than lelouch , and since there is no one like L in Code Geass , i think light would be safe concealing his identity . @triiiish09 That would be wrong. Even if Light saw Lelouch's face, Lelouch uses the alias "Lelouch Lamperouge" in everyday life, when his real name is "Lelouch vi Britannia." Light wouldn't know Lelouch's real name, and Lelouch wouldn't even have to tell him his alias. As long as he has direct eye contact with Light, Light would be screwed.

@triiiish09 Also, I think Light and Lelouch are just as smart in different ways. Light is smart intellectually, and while Lelouch is as well, he isn't as intellectually smart as Light. Lelouch IS, however, very good at foreseeing things and figuring out what his opponents' next "moves" are. Plus he's very tactically smart. I'd say Lelouch wins if they're trying to kill each other.

This isn't true. Remember that, until some time in Season 2, Lelouch was under the guise of Zero, only known by two people, being Kallen and C.C.
And to be honest, he'd probably be after Zero and not Lelouch. Light would probably try to outsmart Lelouch somehow and get his name known, but Lelouch always has a plan :P
