the jesus army is just another fucking cult. i grew up in northampton where there is a fucking plague of the freaks. i actually know a couple who used to be in it proper (living in a comune). they have to "pool their resources" i.e give everything they own over to the "church" then when they became disillusioned with it the organisation made it increadibly hard for them to leave even without any of their money or posessions. they effectively ran away and had to start from scratch with nothing.
No that is rubbish. Members do not have to hand over everything they have to the church and most have private bank accounts. Only a small percentage of the 4,000 Jesus army members live together communally in shared houses and at the farm near Northampton.
