  • Thank you so much!

  • I have gluten issues as well . I sometimes backslide and suffer , but I'm deciding to make healthier choices from now on . I find juicing gives me tremendous benefits . Also a 36 hour water fast can clear up my emotional disturbances as well as my skin . I'm absolutely sure I felt better when I went completely vegan for 8 months . I am now going back to the veggie diet , but some people do OK with meat . Glad this diet is working for you !

  • Thanks for posting these videos. My son has Aspergers also. I noticed that you have not posted in a year. I am wondering how your GFCF diet is going and how you are feeling after working with it for 2 years? Is there anyway you could post a new video and wrap up from these videos to give a us a now view of how you feel and what have been the biggest challenges and advantages for you? Again, thank you for your openness and candidness in your videos.

  • how did you get over sugar, I took 2 test and seems I am high funtioning, which I suspected after researching after I found out my son had autism. I was raised off sugar and find it impossible not to eat.

  • Congrats! Sounds like you have improved a lot. Mike at Gluten Free Diet Blogs

  • Would vitamin D help? Vitamin D helps prevent insulin resistance, and it is in the pancreaus. Vitamin D may help remove allergies. The problem with allergies, is everytime another allergy food comes along you will just be ill again, unless you go on some paleolithic diet to take out all grains, sugars, but if your gut is not functioning right or the pancreaus is not producing enough enzymes, or the casein is causing a leaky gut and harming your pancreaus, how can this be resolved? Cause? vit D?

  • You're perfect dude ;) Messy or cleaned up!

  • you are ADORABLE!! -- um, so, how about posting some more vidz?? =D

  • Sugar has the same effect on me. I can't consume it if I'm to perform any important task.

  • Excellent - thank you for posting. This is very educational and not only for people whom Austism has touched, but those with Celiac Disease, Diabetes and countless other conditions. I believe our society is on the cusp of realizing that each of us is biologially unique and that items we each consume affect us in different ways. You demonstrate how each of us is the CEO of our bodies, diet and lifestyles . We each have wonderful opportunities to discover & choose what's best for us. Bravo.

  • do you have gastroparesis also by chance, read study asbergers and it could be linked. As I have both, my problem is I don't eat enough, and have to much sugar

  • interesting stuff. i've tried this myself but couldn't stick to it. it's two years later, how is it going?

  • Hi thank you so much for posting these videos. I have two boys and a husband with autism. You remind me so much of my husband! I've always wanted to try this diet but I was scared that I would get my hopes up.I tried it once before when my kids were first diagnosed but did not do it right., so I did'nt get results. Thanks you for giving me hope.!! I can definitely do without the mood swings from these three!! :)

  • Thank you so much for having made these videos. I viewed your Day 1 and this one & I can tell you your eye contact, which is so important in conversation, was drastically improved in this 3 month video. I just started my almost 9 yr old son on the diet and am really hoping it has the calming effects it has had for you. I hope he sees the connectedness to his daily life and rythmns improve and he gets to enjoy stability in his energy and moods like you mentioned. Thank you again!

i like your videos very much. sometimes i fell bad and iwatch your videos to received hope.

you are the idol of aspergers.PS sorry for my bad english

  • OMG. You are so cute. Aww. I am on a Gluten free diet now. I feel you on the eating something and it doesn't go over well with your body. It really encourages you to stay gluten free!!! Great video!

  • Yes how do you ?

  • How do you make money working at home?

  • I dont work at home, no. I have a pretty normal job :)

  • Can I just comment on how cute you look! You're very handsome :)

  • I dun really car about the video just dropped in to say I love cheese toasts ... which has lotsa both.

  • If you want suggar, your body wants vitamins in reality, because in nature sweet stuff is always full of vitamins (fruits), that's how we can recognice them, but in todays world it is not like this anymore. That's also a reason why our body makes us to "addics" towards sweet food. Next time maybe just eat a fruit? :D

  • I never knew that.. thanks... :)

  • Wow, all this from no milk and dairy???

  • man u posted this on my birthday even, thanks, ill consider this a gift. yea i used to experiment with raw food dieting a long time ago. (very ignorantly at the time).

  • a joke in poor taste?

  • Thanks for posting this video.

  • Thank you - very inspirational videos on the gluten-free, casein-free diet. As a result of your encouragement, I have been on it for a month, and I am already feeling a lot better, with fewer autistic symptoms: better sleep, fewer hunger pangs, clearer thought, more connection with the world, more energy after socialising, less depression and anxiety ... and I've noticed a bit of welcome weight loss! Are you still on the diet - how is it going?

  • I watched several of your videos last night. I found the very first video. I have to say that I can see a healthy difference. The way your communication is in this video compared to the first and the way you look over all.

  • Correction, the correct title of the book is: "The Sugar Blues".

  • About your comments on sugar, I'd like to recommend a book titled: "The Sugar Bloos"; it's about the harmful effects of sugar in the body. I am so glad to hear that, while on the GFCF diet you are less taxed by social activity and have more eye contact. Do you eat meat?

  • Man this shit works I feel so much better and have not have to take one stomach pill for ibs! never had it! thats why the pills never worked it was gluten all along 24 years of hell

I thank you and everyone for posting this its made my life much much better!!!!

  • Thanks for posting this video! I haven't seen none of the other videos but this one just made me smile and have hope that once my brother (he's autistic and doesn't speek) starts the GFCF diet he will feel much better even he won't be able to tell us!!! I've been into a lot of research these last days and I've found information about antiviral and antifungal therapy that has suprised me! Do you know anything about this too?

Thanks for sharing your experience with the community!

  • I know there are mixed reviews about her, but based on your comment, you should read Jenny McCarthy's book "Louder Than Words." I just saw used ones for under $4 on Amazon. Her son's diet had (along with a myriad of other things) ended up being the cornerstone of his recovery! He's still quirky, but speaks, laughs, interacts, etc. Diet won't cure everyone, but it certainly won't hurt!!!!! Nutrition has to be the most overlooked part of health care in the world!!!!!!

  • fuckin nibbles

  • I appriciate your input :)!?

  • If I understand this right, you are not allowed to drink milk? I'm asking because I have AS, but I do a lot of sport und drink a lot of proteine shakes.

  • yep, no milk too.

  • As a dad of six, three of these on the autistic spectrum (one having Down's Syndrome too), I'd like to try the GFCF for my kids. And for me, too,as I'm sure I have Asperger Syndrome (the kids' Social Worker testifies I have the signs).

  • my son is 5yrs old and was diagnosed with autism this year. He has been on the diet for several months and it has completely changed him. Its nice to see an adults point of view since my child can't explain to me why it helps him. thanks for posting!

  • Thnx! Thats exactly why im posting this, glad it worked :)

  • Thank you so much for sharing your experiences! You have helped me a lot.

  • You look good o'naturel.

Diets working for me. Clarity of thought, less meltdowns, such like.

    J.

  • thnx ;)

exactly, thats how its working for me too!

  • Dav Felix,

Tak for din video. Må vi få en på Dansk? mit Dansk er jo ikke så godt, det har hveret mange år siden jeg var hjem i Danmark. Tusind Tak igen,

    Erik

  • tjoe... måske... men man rammer jo et bredere publikum med det Engelske.

  • I found your video to be very interesting. I suspect my 9 year old nephew has aspergers. I am encouraging him to try the GFCF diet. I have been gluten free for 3 weeks and have decreased my intake of casein. I may be sensitive to these foods as well. I want to see if restricting these foods will help my concentration and energy level. I look forward to your food experiments.

  • Interesting. Thanks for the update. Glad you're feeling well.

  • Thanks for sharing! Nutrition is sooo important!! I have a 9-year-old Aspie who is pretty healthy, but is really over-weight and eats like a vacuum cleaner. I've been wondering how the GFCF would impact him. Keep sharing!!!

  • thnx! i will! im sure the diet will be great for him. wether the gf/cf part will affect him i cant gurantee, but if u minimize sugars like i do, it will do wonders for him. GJ Dad!

  • AspergerDad - I was reading an article in a British newspaper describing a relative with AS and their characteristic tendency to overeat. I don't remember hearing of this as a characteristic of Autistic people before, but it did resonate with me - I was diagnosed recently, and I do have difficulty knowing when I'm eating too much or not enough. Also, I see this in my own Dad (who I suspect is undiagnosed Asperger also - in his 70s I don't know how useful diagnosis would be for him)

  • i can relate to what they say about the tendancy to eat alot.

  • Thanks for your reply! He still eats in about 12 seconds, but we're trying to monitor, give him much smaller portions, drink water in between servings, increase ratio of veggies, especially for snacks -- and he is growing taller without gaining weight so it's better.

  • Do you have a child with Aspergers Syndrome? I rest my case. 20 years of raising a child and staying home with him required a business. Do you know what MLM is?

  • hey barbie. If u want to talk about MLM and other pyramid schemes, please send me a mail and dont post randomly in my videos.

    thnx.

  • When did you look bad? I did not notice. I am diabetic due to intake of prescribed prednisone... so sugar and carbs are out for me.

  • ive stated in previous videos that i looked like crap due to just waking up etc.

  • I have Celiac Disease and have to live on the GF diet. My wife is a teacher and works with many kids with Asperger's. Gluten Free stuff isn't as bad as many people think, you just have to find the good stuff. So, if any parent or person is afraid to start the GF diet because of taste, etc...give it a try anyway. You will be surprised! Great videos by the way!

  • We know two people with celiac in the last year that have SEVERE reactions to gluten! As long as they stick to the diet, life is grand! One slip ... and the tummy girgles :(

  • You are also smiling more! : D Love it! I have a 19 y0 son who was diagnosed with Asperger's. Want to say thank you to you and all the rest of the people who made YouTube videos for sharing. It has helped me a lot. Will show to my son. THANK YOU. Will be reading on PhilCommander2's diet. OMG. Kudos to all!

  • as noted for centuries..."you are what you eat". sugars included...nasty stuff.

    very impressive will power!

  • thanks!

  • Sugar??? What is wrong with sugar? There is no theory that sugar effects those with Aspergers and that we can't properly digest it. Heck, I'm doing the GFCF diet and sugar is my lifeline. I'll have a Coke every once in awhile. It is the Wheat and other gluten products that i understand we can't eat.

  • I dont care if there is science there or not. When i get sugar, i become Dr.Death. Fact.

  • You have to monitor your own body and pay attention to how each thing impacts it!

  • could a lot of these effects be explained by just eating healthier. If you went on any healthy eating program you would have similar effects. I cant speak for the eye contact and such. Personally we started a high lean protine, veggie, whole grain diet recently and we are experianceing some of the same effects that you are. We have not cut out Gluten or caseine. I dont think i could take milk away from EJ he loves it so much. Regardless i am glad you are feeling so much better!

  • exactly, im definatly eating alot healthier, but wether its one or the other, ill take the benefits.

in the future ill experiment with taking back dairy for a while to see if I notice a difference. then after another few months, maybe some gluten experiments.

  • I think getting rid of all the chemicals, simple sugars, colors, junk, etc. is 75% of the battle! These other specific diets are relative to the indidviduals and their reaction to specific food elements.

  • I like it when you look grungy!! I think you feeling hungry may be because eating junk food sugar and bread or pasta (more calories) keep you feeling fuller longer. If you are eating more vegetables they have less calories and you would naturally burn it faster and feel hungry sooner or more. I'm glad you are heathier now! but what would happen to you if you ate a piece of whole grain bread? Would that make you regress? You mentioned the effects of sugar, but I'm curious about the gluten

  • I havent tried eating a gluten food. i wanted to meake sure my body is totally "clean" and i have achieved the maximum i cant on this diet, before i try gluten again. as with sugar, only when im doing the best, can i clearly see the effects. stay tuned for food experiments in the comming months.
