all of you people that say contemporary music is the devil's music, where are you getting this?? when jesus and the prophets came they were unorthodox people, they didn't conform to the ageless religious practices of the jews, so just because rap/rock and other contemporary music is associated the world it doesnt mean it necessarily is of it

And God still does powerful work through them even to this day, and as time changes God works in mighty ways through contemporary mediums to encourage and spread his messages through through artists such as switchfoot and others, it's not right for us to choose for God the tools and ways he does his work.

@serenityluvsgod The only thing that can be sinful about a piece of art is the subject matter and/or the intentions behind it's creation. Songs can be sinful, yes, but only on a individual basis. An entire genre cannot be sinful as one can just as easily bang out devil-worship on a church organ as they could on an electric guitar. For instance, Nickleback's songs can be sinful because of their subject matter, but rock as a whole cannot be sinful just because Nickleback is a rock group.

@serenityluvsgod How can a certain musical style be blasphemous? Is a singer, backed up by an acoustic or electric guitar and a bass, with a drummer providing the beat somehow woefully sinful? Because if it is, I can't possibly see why. And God still does powerful work through them even to this day, and as time changes God works in mighty ways through contemporary mediums to encourage and spread his messages through through artists such as switchfoot and others, it's not right for us to choose for God the tools and ways he does his work.

@serenityluvsgod The only thing that can be sinful about a piece of art is the subject matter and/or the intentions behind it's creation. Songs can be sinful, yes, but only on a individual basis. An entire genre cannot be sinful as one can just as easily bang out devil-worship on a church organ as they could on an electric guitar. For instance, Nickleback's songs can be sinful because of their subject matter, but rock as a whole cannot be sinful just because Nickleback is a rock group.

@serenityluvsgod How can a certain musical style be blasphemous? Is a singer, backed up by an acoustic or electric guitar and a bass, with a drummer providing the beat somehow woefully sinful? Because if it is, I can't possibly see why. In an intellectually based religion such as christianity, that which is considered to be sinful is considered to be such as it is contrary to the intellectual beliefs held by such a religion. 'Cause sometimes when I am suborn, and don't listen to God, instead of turning on some song that doesn't relate to God, or turning on a Hymn(hymns never inspire me like this music does), I turn on this and I get inspired to be inspired by God.

I see these bands reaching out to teens to convert them to Christianity yet you point your finger a t things you don't like and call them satanic as if YOUR god! Obviously

God says that He will NOT receive those who engage in spiritual adultery & fornication with the world- those who have "touched" the unclean. These "Christians" think they are on the road to Heaven, but they are really on the road to Hell! Because in reality, many so-called Christians love the world more than Christ and are mocking him through their irreverent and blasphemous demonic music.

@serenityluvsgod I love their music. I haven't heard or seen anything about their music being "Devilish". I love God because He made me and this world and everyone and everything in it. Being a Christian is not going to church every Sunday. It's not, "Oh. This music has electric guitars and a drum set. This is evil." Being a Christian is having a relationship with Jesus Christ. I'm a Christian. And even though what you say makes no sense what-so-ever, I love you. I hope you have a great day.

@serenityluvsgod if you don't believe it's right why are you listening. That's what Jesus would call a hypocrite. And before you say anything to rebuff me, I go to a veeeery strict church and love a good debate. Most of my guy friends are preachers and don't listen to anything but southern gospel but they don't tell me I'm going to Hell for listening to music I like... Shall I continue?
