munchkin: Why do you feel that something that happens naturally to women is something inappropriate to share with your daughter? WHy treat something like this, something empowering and enjoyable as a taboo? Also, either your daughter is too young to comprehend the concept of cumming and so even if you were to explain it to her she wouldn't grasp it or if she is old enough to understand deserves to have an explanation...or probably already knows about it already!

Sorry, I think I'm going backwards...She just happens to be six months old. So there really hasn't been the sex talk or the masturbation talk or even the boys talk yet. I'm just trying to convince her to say 'mama'. It hasn't anything to do with the sex, I just have always spelled 'cum' 'come'. The relationship between my daughter and I will be formed around trust and love and for that to happen, I believe communication is key. I will be the first to tell her, not her mate from school.

I do agree. I grew up in a home where I was taught that sex was a sin, with a baptist mother. I have resolved to give my daughter the knowledge and the options to do what she feels is right, knowing she will make mistakes anyway, but will be easier with mommy's support, as long as it is done intelligently. (In the case of sex, with protection and understanding that it is an emotional act, not to necessarily sleep around.)
