My approach (in both rounds) was to try and stay true to the original for the first verse, and then go over the top to show "The Judges" that I can hopefully do whatever it is they need for the "Show" factor. If I actually GOT this gig, I would be WAY more true to the original parts!! I would NEVER do this kinda thing live! :)

This one's definitely yours. Can't understand how some people are given this oportunity and send a video from a phone with poor audio quality. By having a profesionally looking video and sound, first of all you show respect and how professional you are. Besides that, excellent playing, and one of the only three who dared to play other notes, but none achieved in playing them with such good taste. Congratulations and enjoy it when you get this gig !
@orlandoontiveros I can't speak for everyone involved, but for me it was just a matter of not having access to better recording equipment. J.R. is lucky inasmuch as he has a KILLER recording studio (I checked it out on his website, very nice). As for me, I had access to a computer camera. So my auditions may not look all that great, but I did record my sound via Audacity and mix it in with the track accordingly, so they sound good.

@JRMixesTheMusic I wouldn't say anybody's game at this point. I've got my choice down to 4 bassists for the final, and only 3 will get there. You're definitely one of those 3, hands down.
I'm a purist when it comes to Queen songs and always cringe when "ad-lib" takes place, regardless of how great it is. I'll let yours slide though ... in this case the "ad-lib" was exceptional.

Yeah man, tight! I didn't think you overplayed too much at all -- just showed a bit of your own, funky style at the 1:30 mark. You got my vote (Marc Sherman - drummer in Round 2).
i was almost gonna click vote , but I really didnt like the overplaying. Every mediocre bassist can do these licks , I just don't think thats what its about. Sorry, no vote due to wanking on bass ;).

@cramletram I was thinking the same thing! I saw over playing by people in other categories and it seemed more like wanking as opposed to bringing something special to the song. This was tasty flair that still fit in the groove!
