@darkgaiasonic yea but when youve never ridden powder before you think its just like a groomed run and put all your weight on your front foot because thats what you would usually do, and then you would catch your edge and biff it.
Well I have been working for 10 years as a Snowboard Instructor and live a hour and a half from Newport, so yeah, I must know shit. If you have good experience riding deep powder you will be able to transfer to surfing easily just don't try steering with your front leg like you do when snowboarding the groomers. Steer with the back like in pow.
how deep? cuz i need to know if on like 20cm- 50cm of powder, do i need to lean back? or is it fine? ive done powder before, but i just need to know if i was wasting my energy leaning back. so =D ty
no, you don't need to lean back, keep more pressure on the tail of the board than on normal riding but not an extreme amount! Keep your upper body more inline with the board using less counter, you don't want to put a ton of pressure on the edges, stay centered. work on rounding out your turns instead of forcing them, and HAVE FUN!!! Pow is sick.
um... so.... im an expert now? is that what expert village is telling me?

Don't listen to this dumbass he has no idea what he's talking about. You surf with your front leg in control.

As a new snowboarder, I'm waiting for the snow. Two months and 26 days here in Montana (Big Sky and Bridger Bowl).
