Sometimes what's considered a weed has more to do with location than any intrinsic lack of value in the plant. In Tasmania, geraniums are considered weeds. In certain other places, orchids are unwanted pests.
Maybe people are like that as well. If you're living in a community where you're not appreciated, it's easier to relocate to a place where you won't be considered a weed.

pick dandelions when they first sprout up and they make a great salad green. you can make a drink from the root -- its identical to chicory -- what they put in your coffee at cafe du monde in new orleans. tres bien.
people have problems thinking something useful is in their front yard.

Sometimes what's considered a weed has more to do with location than any intrinsic lack of value in the plant. In Tasmania, geraniums are considered weeds. In certain other places, orchids are unwanted pests.
Maybe people are like that as well. If you're living in a community where you're not appreciated, it's easier to relocate to a place where you won't be considered a weed.
For my part, I'm more concerned that your old man is using pesticides instead of getting you to do some yard work. :)

yeah.. i agree... in principle.. but they only seem to want to grow where they aren't really appreciable. if thhey would only grow in like a few select places, it would be great. what makes them a weed is the way they spread and reproduce choking out other plants as they go.... much like humanity.... sad sobering thought really. unlike humanity though they dont have the capacity to learn or appreciate other "plants" needs so the only way to deal with them is tolimit their growth for them.
