  • Few artists in the entire history of the world spread so much joy, humor, love and great music as Mr.James Moody. We are so thankful for his many years of giving!! Thanx for this wonderful interview!

  • You should hear the version of his Moody's Mood For Love on the cd titled "Visions Upward Bound" I google'd it and WOW!!! So nice!!! the way the beat and the lyrics flow is amazing! I think he would be proud of how it sounds.

  • oh my goodness...such love. a gift... to share....

  • What is even more amazing is that the great James Moody was hearing impaired! This is when you know he has a true gift to be able to play the way that he played and was hearing impaired. WOW.... No words!

  • I was the guest vocalist at a club in Seattle in 1980 (Purcells) and I killed this song UNREHEARSED! Thank Donald Lee my daddy in CA for turning me on to such WONDERFUL music if you happen upon him!

  • I saw James Moody live at 15 different venues. I took my mother to see him in Boston. He remembered me from Sweet Basil in Greenwich Village, so I introduced my mother. Five years later, my mother and her friend went to see him again. She walked up to him and he said, "Hey Phyllis, how you been." An amazing man, an amazing player, who brought unrelenting joy to all. Unappreciated. Mr. Moody approached life in a special way. He touched all he met. Every one of us have not stopped crying.

  • I'd give a nickel to hear the rest of this interview.... The interviewer is Camille Cosby. I wonder what is the occasion? Thank you for uploading this here. James Moody you can come in now, man and blow now if you want to, we miss you.

  • This interview is priceless.

First off the guy had to go to the john and sketched out the arrangement while he was there. I can just picture him sitting on the can working on the chart.

    "You must have been inspired."

"Hell I was trying to find the notes cause I'm playing alto."

    LOL

  • This is a wonderful description of a Jazz classic. I have enjoyed it for years along with all those who have covered it. We have lost a giant in the history of Jazz music. Thank you, James Moody, for all you have given to humankind.

  • I have almost everything James Moody has ever recorded. One of the all time greats. And you won't find many people imitating him. One of a kind. And still playing his ass off. Go James Go.

  • LOL Still the Cosby's are influencing me! I came searching for the version sung on the Cosby Show and thought I'd stop here to hear the story. wow... Thank you.

  • My father only allowed jazz in our home to be played. Now as a child I hated it but one day after listening to this I fail in love with jazz and Moodys Mood for Love.
