  • i thought the title was pet skanks D:

  • once my skunk sprayed my hole couch! and normally i had to buy a new couch! XD

  • @cb7pwn why wouldn't u

  • I grew up with a pet skunk that my brother brought back from Montana. The skunk was found as a newborn that had lost its mother to a jeep. Snoopy was fixed by a local vet in Montana and it was one of the best pets we ever owned. She was affectionate, loved to sit on my mother's lap while she watched TV and was a real cheese hound (something she got only as a once in a while treat.) Now more than thirty years later I still thing back to Snoopy with very fond memories.

  • a skunk got in to my backyard and my dog killed it ):

  • Purdy Flower!!

  • umm i like them littlebit

  • why the flying f#ck would you want a pet skunk...

  • @cb7pwn Because its different than having a Dog or Cat? I'd like a pet Skunk or pet Fox.

  • @TheCajunGambit1 Ah, you'd be surprised at the kinds of pets people want - pet wolf, pet skunk... personally I would love a king cobra as a pet too!

  • @Rylexander Oh ya definately some people even have pet Tigers! Like Mike Tyson he really did have a pet Tiger despite the movie the Hangover but it was a White Tiger he owned in real life not sure if he ever owned an orange Tiger.

  • oh America, you've got to be kidding me... some animals are absolutely not pets :')

  • More related to a badger then a rodent.

  • i want a pets 101 for sloths, just so i can look at them

  • "Skunks only eat fresh food" *Looks outside at skunk eating from garbage can* ...what the hell?

  • your fucking dumb if you want a skunk for a pet, they are not domesticated and are rodents. dont be stupid and put them in a cage

  • @himoms1001 oh my god. skunks are NOT rodents.

  • @himoms1001 there's a special kind who is

  • Hmmm. I wonder if they're legal in Montana. Not that I couldn't walk out my back door and get one... Kidding, we also ride horses and cows everywhere we go lol... Kidding again...

  • Le pew!

  • I don't know. The odor is their greatest defense against predictors. Removing it seems kind of cruel. What if he does get out? Poor thing would be dead within hours. Not all animals are meant to be pets.

  • @TheTownEccentric I fully agree with you.

  • @TheTownEccentric Yeah that's true, ones with the scent glands removed are not supposed to ever go back in the wild because of that. Then again, the lifespan of domesticated ones is much greater than wild ones so it's either one or the other. technically no animal is meant to be a pet (except for dogs which are engineered i guess) so definition is pretty loose.

  • I remember our dogs getting sprayed by skunks, while everyone has gagging from the smell i was cooking pizza to eat ( born without a sense of smell XD)

  • Would be so cool to have one ;3 but I think a cat fits me better

  • Some people are stupid.

  • Skunks Indoors? Ancient Aliens

  • So a domesticated skunk is kinda like a cat lol

  • They are cute :D

  • Comment removed

  • move to indonesia! all pets are legal here! :D

  • i want a skunk that has its stink gland removed!!!!!:D

  • @maddy2000ism my friend has one , its called jill , its a total BABE !

  • @maddy2000ism They will still smell though :(

  • i luv pets 101

  • i am gonna use this as a fart weapon

  • so they fart...

  • d'aww I hold my kitties just like that <3

  • I hear that in Europe they're legal to keep as pets, but you can't de-scent them because the surgery is considered 'cosmetic'.

Can anyone tell me if that's true?

  • @RasecVonWizzlbang you can keep them. If you import them from countries that do de-sent them that's OK. I don't think it's cosmetic as it is painful for the animal after and unnatural but not just skunks but ferrets and other animals like that

    Hope that helps a bit.

  • @Demondbunny i went to reply and saw it was you...small world XD

  • @RasecVonWizzlbang A lot of surgeries that are performed for the convenience of humans without any known benefit to the animal are banned in Europe. This includes the removal of the scent glands in skunks and the removal of the claws and fangs in cats.

  • 25 feet wtf

  • cops do not work any more . you mite as well take the law in to your own hands.

  • @ShesChic might*

  • yah you tell him murder is bad!

  • i couldn't take this seriously as soon as the skunk began to walk

  • awww

  • WTF!! PET SKUNKS????!!!

  • are they illegal in mass?

  • These Pet 101 videos can make anyone want anything.

  • I wanted a Skunk but they are Illegal in Tennessee:(

  • aww i would love a pet gunk (i call skunks gunks lol in like a baby voice) i love gunks weee!! swoh cute!!!

  • lolwuuuuuuuuuuuut a skunk for a pet?

  • Justin biebers GAY

  • @iCharmCity07 Most of their stink is removed before there sold as pets. So they don't smell as bad also Foxes have the same stinky odor like a skunk and I know of alot of people who own Foxes.

  • i love their waddle

  • still gettin a skunk yo

  • OOPS I FFAARTEEDDD NOW IT SMEELLLLS LIKE SKUNK\

  • Can't believe ppl pet these skunks -..-

  • Comment removed

  • What I don't understand is why pet skunks are banned in some states...My dad had one growing up. (I think they're banned now) The only reason I can find for the ban is because of a rabies risk...Uh...isn't that the same just about any other pet if you don't vaccinate? You know...like dogs, cats....I'm extremely confused...

  • I literally got confused with a racoon and a skunk xD

  • white people lol.......

  • never heard of a pet skunk, lol

  • they are SO cute.

  • oh...HELL NO!

  • So cute! I wouldn't mind having one!

  • ech animalplanet helloo maybe its illegal in some states but in europe not everything is illegal .... dum animal planet thinks there the only country in the world

  • @MrGordonification

This show was originally made in America and caters to an American audience, introducing them to the notion of keeping skunks, mainly viewed in the US as wild and smelly creatures, as pets. What does this have to do with Europe? It didn't say that keeping skunks as pets are banned in Europe. It was simply referring to the legal status in the US.

  • @EnigmaDrath well they shouldn't forget that we got skunks too xD got few friends that keeps them

  • i should get back to my homework :/

  • 1. pause at 0:00

    2. hold left arrow

    3. push up arrow

    4. Play snake

    Thumbs up if it works!!

  • Cute, but skunks should be left in the wild where they will be much happier. Exotic pets should not be kept. Spend your time on an animal that's about to be euthanized at a shelter instead.

  • @redcorpse Every breed of cats and dogs were exotic pets at one time.

  • @redcorpse Y U NO READ TOP COMMENT OR LISTEN TO VIDEO?

  • @thecherrimtree. KABAYAN!

  • I want one! But I'm from the Philippines XD...

  • I wonder what percentage of Skunk owners have named their skunk Pepe Le Piu, lol

  • @greenpeach20 I'd name mine Fifi.

  • @greenpeach20 my mom had a skunk named Mikey!

  • why da hell do you wanna get "frrrrrrgfffftttt"

  • Smelt my first skunk about a month ago. It was hit by a car so the smell was one of the worst you can imagine. There is nothing to compare the smell to either, its different and terrible.

  • @wingman123 one time my friends dad was driving us to there house when they ran over a skunk it smelt bad poor skunk!

  • venting here. so today i saw a huge group of morons killing an innocent skunk, they had been partying and the skunks presence must have scared a few women so the men chased down the poor thing and beat it with sticks, broken alcohol glass bottles, kicked it etc... its much worse than it sounds.. i called the cops on them yet the cops just gave them a warning. look at that, i didnt even know that skunks are domesticated. I hate this fucking neighborhood. murder should never go unpunished.

  • @themaniusedtob you should have contacted peta

  • @themaniusedtob What the hell, they just attacked a skunk because a couple women were being pussies? If you decided to find them and kick their asses, I'll cheer you on and switch out the bat you use once in a while. O:<

  • h@themaniusedtob i agree. i think the people should of got a big fine!

  • @themaniusedtob

I think punishment for that should go as this a fine of say 200 dollars the first time you are caught then if you do it again a fine of at least 400 or more then if you do it again jail time for a minimum of say 6 monthes.

  • @themaniusedtob

With Jail time increasing each time after that by say at least two monthes after that. So if you served in jail for 6 monthes and then went and killed another innocent animal this time you serve 8 monthes.

  • @themaniusedtob I was walking down the street and i saw some people throwing bread crumbs into the street. At first it didn't look like they were doing anything until seagull swooped down to perilously nab one of the crumbs, then a young seagull swooped down too late and got hit by a car. The kids laughed maniacally at the way it flapped on its one good wing and proceeded to get smacked until it died. They "didn't know what they were doing" and got off scott free. It was truly disturbing

  • @themaniusedtob i woulda found a nice solid stick and beat the shit out of THEM. see how they like it.

i'm not joking. i would seriously do my best to beat the everloving bejesus out of them, until they were so bruised and broken they would have to crawl back to safety.

violence against the innocent is horrific, but violence against cruel, sociopathic punks is a-ok in my book.

  • @themaniusedtob Pieces of shit man, I hate human beings sometimes. I'm really glad you called help even though they didn't do anything... I'm losing faith in humanity.

  • @themaniusedtob but it's not considered murder so why are you calling it murder?

  • @dourabbawinner because they did murder, they took the life of a living being...animals have feelings too you know...

  • @TheDoritosfan1 the court system does not define animals as potential victims in murder. Glad you feel strongly on this but th majority will tell you that they did not commit murder.

  • @themaniusedtob yeah there's a lot of sick people, for example one of my high school teachers joked and told us to deliberately run over 'rodents', everyone else but me laughed.... :/

  • @themaniusedtob also animal abuse should be taken seriously, because it's been scientifically proven that if someone does commit those kinds of crimes then it shows that they have no problem with killing/torturing people...I've heard several stories of torture/abuse/killing of animals done by youths and the cops are like, "we can't do anything about it", there was a petting zoo where animals got shot by bbguns, skinned, etc., nothing done about it, no security cameras or anything

  • @TheDoritosfan1 That's true. This is an extreme example; but many serial killers started with animals before they switched to humans. Animal abuse is a serious indication of being greatly lacking in empathy; a common trait of criminals.

  • @themaniusedtob geeze, its much worse than it sounds? Cuz that already sounds awful!

  • @themaniusedtob that is terrible i am sorry you had to see that.

  • @themaniusedtob Another reason I hate people. Not you. The pricks who beat up the skunk.

  • @themaniusedtob

"its much worse than it sounds"

It sounds pretty bad! I'm a teenager now, but I remember when I was walking with my dad in central park and there were some guys kicking a raccoon! We had much the similar reaction- my dad almost kicked the crap out of THEM. Who does these things?

  • @themaniusedtob

People are such hypocrites! They diss on old ladies wearing fur for warmth but kill an animal just for fun.

  • @themaniusedtob man if i was u i wouldve rescused the skunk. i wouldnt care if i got sprayed by it.

  • "...which prevents them from biting"

Wait, what? They bite? My cats don't even bite when I hold them.

  • Can you have a human as a pet?

  • @Vaceist Sure, they're called kids: in general, their natural habitat is very diverse, are extremely demanding, with screaming and kicking if they don't get their way. You can make one yourself, but will have to wait nine months. They can be very stubborn, and very very very difficult to train/teach, but vary greatly between individuals. They require a balanced diet, though they love junk food. They can live a long life, but if you don't have time or heart, they are not for you.

  • Don't let them rape your black cats okay? They are easily confused.

  • Why is it always I think of France when watching this?

  • @dilstrez123- there legal but you need a license

  • ;A;

  • Awwww so cu *sniff sniff* EWWWWWWWW!!!!!!

  • its so fluffy im gonna die ;A;

  • Native Americans used to keep them as pets

  • Thank goodness I've never had to groom one of these!

  • R they legal in wisconsin

  • if i had a pet skunk, i would name it stinky

  • If I had a pet skunk I'd name it Pepé Le Pew.

  • Collect household items? So they're like raccoons? :D

  • pets are like pokemon !

  • @TehBoobie Oh so you just put them in a freakin small ball

  • @lopas961 yeah. Who doesnt?

  • @TehBoobie gotta catch 'em all

  • @TehBoobie you gotta catch em all?

  • I am 53 and when I was about 9, my father brought home a wild one that had been descented. Unfortunately the surgery site got infected and it died. It was a neat experience. My father brought home a ground mole he had dug up when he worked on a dairy farm as well. It was interesting the feel of the pelt.

  • Skunk? They can't be pet? They stray you!!

  • lol at 1:36

  • i wanted onw until they said bite, but they are still so cute

  • @kellydjelly any animal with teeth can bite, for heavens sake. Use a little common sense please!

  • @inspire734 i know that, so dont be a sarcastic, know it all ass-hole please! thanks!

  • @kellydjelly Eat a big one ass-hole dim wit! You want to go at it all day, I can!

  • @inspire734 thanks for showing everyone how ignorant you are :) you really are psycho. make sure to take your meds on time,....cow!

  • so cute!

  • this is a nice prank for bastard like my friend

  • SOOOO.. CUTE. many people dont want one because they think they stink. BUT~~ they only release the smell when annoyed.. I would actually want one :)

  • they belong to mature i agree!!!!!!

  • @georgelopez344 Not domesticated skunks, they would die in a very short amount of time..

  • "...allow them to rest on your shoulder. Use the other hand to hold the skunks head, which prevents them from BITING."

Doesn't sound like a good feature to me

  • YUCK no way.

  • Wow I loved this video and the others. So helpful.

  • I would love to have one.

  • Sorry to disappoint you, but skunks have been domesticated for several decades already, and pet skunks simply do not have the survival instinct to make it in the wild (any one with common sense will know keeping a wild skunk will *never* work out, for one thing). As with any domesticated animal, they are a lot better off alongside humans. Do yourself a favor and keep your ignorant statements to yourself, since you obviously don't know what you are talking about.

  • @clovera these people on pets 101 know what they are doing so much more then you! you are a dimwit who thinks they know everything! so SHUT UP!

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @clovera A fair opinion.

  • @clovera u seriously think you're smart enough to question animal planet? ahahaha you're funny! screw you im going with animal planet!

  • @cuteNsporty97 You seriously think you're smart enough against common sense? Wow, I think you're the dumbass in this situation. The person wasn't questioning animal planet, the person was telling the people who make stupid comments, like you, to shut the fuck up

  • @richalvarezfan101 umm did i fucking ask u? no so u shut the fuck up & hop off bitch! and if u read the damn comment that person is questioning animal planet & ur agreeing which makes both of u guys dumbasses thank you very much :) and none of this had to do with common sense dick head its pure knowledge oh & 1 more thing my comment wasnt stupid it was actual COMMON SENSE! random youtuber or animal planet? if u pick random youtuber you're retarded as hell :)

  • @cuteNsporty97 You expect me to believe YOU when you're the one calling me the dumbass when you can't use the word "you" and you swear. Yep, I'm totally believing you, omfg!

  • @richalvarezfan101 you're saying that i can't use the word "you" but notice that YOU can't use the words "oh my fucking God" dumbass. i used "u" instead of "you" to save letters dickhead! notice how i wrote a whole damn paragraph

  • I love them they r so cute!!!

  • no these pet sunks have no spary i have a baby sunk and he cant spary forever they got the spary taken out when it was very tiny

  • I love de skunks... so cute... all u have to do is neuter them, get the sent glands removed, feed them, keep them indoors, and love them... love them

  • AWWW They are so cute!! =D <3

  • skunks are stinky and yucky!

  • @lilau090 Why are you even in here if you do not like this kind of animal?

  • Are you kidding me? First Pigs, then donkeys than hedgehogs then ferrets then pet skunks???!!! What next, a lion?

  • @ashwinmisra725 I hope so.

  • @ashwinmisra725 SOme ppl own alligators.

  • @ashwinmisra725 Well, there's actually a girl in America [i think] that has a pet lion, so .. think more creative! haha

  • @ashwinmisra725 I don't think you can compare a lion to those type of animals. The animals you mentioned are fairly docile creatures and don't get as big as a lion. Also these animals aren't as wild as a lion. Most of these animals are easily domesticated. Big cats like lions and tigers cannot be domesticated. Plus they are far more dangerous and unpredictable than a donkey or a skunk. Once again not a fair comparison.
