I want to be a fighter pilot, and i've always wanted to, but i'm afraid that i might just waste my time on eduating myself as one, and then end up as flying something else that the fighters i've always dreamed of.

My question is:

If i educate myself as a fighter pilot - how big a chance will there be of me ending up piloting something else than fighters?

@Skidern its not your choice mate. You go for the job of pilot....they assess you and put you through a process called streaming. The see which aircraft you are suitable to fly (Fast Jet, Fixed Wing or Rotary Wing) and put you on the neccesary course. you can say i want to go Fast Jet but they dont always listen....in fact they rarely do!
