Glad you appreciate those who are standing up for the true rights of American Citizens. We should send people like you to Texas so they can execute you for your ignorance.
Up until the 80's unis were dirt cheap or free. Then the unis decided to "promote diversity" which was code for kicking out the white working class and replacing them with the 92% of the world's population that are "ethnic minorities." They then jacked the prices through the roof. Uncle Tom white liberals and the "minorites" didn't complain that this was unfair to the white working class. Now the rest of you can't afford to go either. Too bad. It's karma time. I hope tuition goes up higher.

True...actually, that is not a bad idea....however, we should put term limits on them, and when their term is up, so is they pay and benefits. No more pension plans for life, or at all. They could never again run for public office and they must provide for themselves like the rest of us in the public sector.

@mrwarmth51 Not everyone can be in Washington. Wall Street is symbolic, obviously. The fact that people are standing up all over the WORLD should be sending a pretty big message. The TRUE difference between now and the 60's is that we are UNITED under one common grievance, not divided into factions (i.e. feminists, free speech, civil rights, etc.).

@MrScottrocks The American way isnt begging in public, but working. 11.5 million illegal aliens are working right now. They have 4tf grade educations, and cant speak much, if any English, yet work. Americans say they need 2 years unemployment compensation, food stamps, and welfare to survive. But, illegals have to work to survive. So, they do. You see, being uneducated means they didnt know there are no jobs.
Ah i am glad to see the police have learned to use the tactics of the screaming mob against them wonder where I can find the video that cop shot with his camcorder.
How can these people talk about being the 99% and yet they have the ability not to work for 3+ weeks? I don't know about you but I couldn't do this even I wanted to.
*JawJaws* This isn't a Republican or Democrat issue. People are in the streets because of what the elites (which include the Rep/Dem and Obama) have and what the 99% continue to lose.
If i'm wrong here please let me know. My wife and I just got back from serving in the US Peace Corps and its all crazy.
President Obama called Wall Street bankers “fat cats” and says he's a "warrior" for the middle class. The numbers show who he's really fighting for. Under Obama, Wall Street has generated over $85 billion in profits in 2.5 years. Under Bush, they generated $77 billion for the entire 8 years he was in office. Obama has also received more 2012 campaign donations from the “fat cats” than all GOP candidates combined. "LIKE" if you think Obama is a "fat cat" in disguise, not a warrior for the middle
This reminds me of my childhood, I would get decked by my brother and he would say I got in front of his fist. Is it that the police are beating students or is it really that the students are not listening to law enforcement and being verbally confrontational? I say the latter.
This is the best chant- This wasn't supposed to be about students against the police. Their brutality towards peaceful protesters draws attention away from the initial issues of the Occupy Cal movement, at least in the eyes of the media and whoever is watching in the nation. If I'm not mistaken, this protest was (mainly) against the privatization of the UC system, especially regarding the proposed fee increases . It's a shame and a tragedy that this violence took place

Under California Penal Code, your first amendment protection of freedom of assembly is relinquished when you break the law. You are now resisting arrest.
That is how we begin to change the system. We need to change the way we think and realize that everything is connected. The police aren't Other. They are merely another facet of a whole community. They are us. We are them. When we start realizing that everything and everyone is connected, we can look at the problems differently and approach them not as single issues, but as symptoms of a dysfunctional system. You are the 99%
From what I see here it's a bunch of angry college kids on private property protesting, when the cops ask them to move back they don't listen... They are more concentrated on rebelling then their actual protest. I understand this protest and why people are angry...but if you really think the cops WANT to be there babysitting children that don't know where their boundaries are, then I'm pretty sure you're wrong... They in no way shape or form should BEAT them...but these protesters need to keep
Damn America, you obviously didn`t play Counter-Strike enaugh. You should know there are two sides, there`s the Cops (defending the 1%) and the other guys.. the 99%.
That is the Alameda Sheriff's Department. The same agency that left Iraq Veteran Scott Olsen unconscious in Oakland with a fractured skull at Occupy Oakland during that peaceful protest.
@landsculpture: how things are exaggerated and turned around. He was not knocked unconscious, and the injury was reportedly caused by a flying objected thrown by one of the protesters. At least that's what the news said, and considering that the media is usually anti-police, for them to make that statement must mean it's true.
@naturesmeds True that, The police, set in place to "protect and serve" have lost sight of that and ARE the terrorists by beating defenseless students with weapons of local destruction. There is no trust and we no longer feel safe with this form of protection.
@proatheism tell me whats not anarchy. people are rebelling against the police calling them the 1%. and since the police enforce the law and anarchy is lawlessness, then the people there are accepting anarchy. that's by no means a peaceful protest.
What is the difference between anarchy and rebellion? Perspective!!!! Those in power and their supporters call it anarchy while the people call it revolution.
Example: The American revolution, England would have called our actions anarchy or terrorism we call it revolution!
@bishop419 perspective can be applied to anything in life tho. so then whats the point of ever fighting. why not just try to understand eachother's perspective through labored work. its easy to fight and rebel. its difficult to get someone to understand something from your view.
Who's talking about fighting? These protesters are peaceful and I pray that it stays this way. This is a peaceful rebellion! We are just not going to participate in a system that does not care for the peoples best interest any longer.
@bishop419 these are semi peaceful...the peaceful protesters are the like the people still sitting outside of the white house since the vietnam war protesting nuclear power/weapons. a lot of these protests are becoming more and more violent. look up berkley. i have a friend who goes there and he says that its getting out of hand. people are litterally cornering the police and yelling and throwing things at them.
I do not see people being violent, i see people being passionate! They do not come to the protests in riot gear with weapons. Why are the police there? What are they protecting? Let the people gather! Their opposition to what is our basic constitutional right is causing most of the resistance we are seeing now.
@bishop419 the police are paid, through tax dollars, by the people, to show up in full gear, to quell things that they believe is getting out of hand. hitler was passionate to kill the jews. should there have been a limit imposed on him saying, "ok we get u hate jews, but dont kill them" ... thats the police (not to compare americans to hitler, but its the first thing that popped into my mind). whom are there to mediate in a sense
@RunningEagle2011 Sounds great. Let us venture into this far fetched scenario, we must negotiate a deal between the sheep and the wolves. The sheep want to peacefully graze on the land. The wolves want to eat the sheep. when are you going to volunteer to be eaten to save your fellow sheep? Then who is next? and so on and so on. Negotiation is between two reasonable people. The US government or Bankers or any of them in social power are not reasonable. They use this term loosely.
@ancdev people aren't open minded enough to negotiate. you get someone like obama who comes in the pictures praising change, and everyone orgasms over the thought of instant gratification. u dare to challenge that wolves and sheep can negotiate friendly, but i guarentee that a deal could be made. we are the sheep, the wolf is the rich. they are our protection. we are their fodder. as of right now, theyre running out of fodder, but yet we arent running out of protection. be thankful
@RunningEagle2011 you are sooooo controlled. Banks are an issue and this is what Thomas Jefferson had to say in the 1700's . "If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks...will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered...
The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs."
@HAILParkzilla Thomas Jefferson also said it was ok to own human beings as slaves to run the economy. I don't trust him on economics and people with this fed fantasy haven't been paying attention to the real causes of this, but instead wish to maintain that paranoid right-wing delusion of the fed.
@imadizzy1 You should go check out your history books, had he gone against slavery at the time we wouldn't have a constitution because he wouldn't have been able to hold a position in politics. Guess where the constitution frame work came from... Indian Law.. guess who was ACTUALLY selling the slaves... other black people. And slavery was not as wide spread as history books make it sound.. and was primarily in the south.
@Adeptmind That's the fundamental issue here. In that the black people themselves were selling off their own kind. Really says something about life back 'home'. I'm not condoning slavery or their ill treatment thus far, but I can say with confidence that their lives in north america are much better. But the issue with man is that he is never satisfied with what he has, or if he was, he would be in paradise.
@imadizzy1 Do some reading on how money currently works in America and tell me it's not corrupt. The US government is owned by the Fed because of it's policies.
@imadizzy1 Yes, we are delusional. We think gold is money, that govt prints money to solve its problems. We are so delusional we are making a fortune, because we own gold instead of dollars. China and India outnumber us big time, and are getting richer, and they buy over 50% of the worlds production of gold ( money). What you believe is irrelevant. Lenin was quoted by Keynes, who said inflation couldnt be diagnosed as to cause by 1 man in 1000. Enjoy the company, you are in the 1000!
@HAILParkzilla thomas jefferson also believed that if america were to stay sane, then the south should expand slavery in order to maintain a phase of agriculture and not a phase of commerce. that is where that quotes roots lie from. Thomas jefferson wanted no banks and central farm plantations in order to have quiet and orderly control of an ever growing country. therefore, you support slavery (indirectly of course)
@RunningEagle2011 so in reality if you support the police, you support the banks, and if you support the banks then you support the politicians who are bought and controlled by the banks. How can we win this fight if people like you will not open your eyes to the corruption caused by these higher entity's. Life does not have to be this way. I was not put on this planet for the leisure of the 1%. Politicians, bankers, police and corporations would not exist without my tax dollars or hard work.
@HAILParkzilla Also, i see the corruption. Its people like you that are impatient. all you want is things to happen right here and right now. You dont want a slow transition into the better future because that would take too long (and i know that that would suck). but for people to protest like this against the police is just wrong. american against american in heated battles should not exist. these police officers are middle class and are just doing their job
@bishop419 if you're assuming that they are working for corporations, then you might as well say that if you have a job, then you work towards the gain of power holding elites. no matter what police or citizen, people are screwed over by these elites. but thats just society. look back through out every historical society and you'll find a few powerful elite ruling the entirety. you could try socialism. but that would never work. no matter what, you and the police work for the same boss
If you are assuming I depend on or am apart of the main stream society as a whole you may want to think again. I do not have a job and have not had one in over ten years. I am a farmer, artist, musician, father, and strong member in my small community. I do not have a bank account and have never payed taxes. Not all of us work for the same boss and not all of us that work for a living are working for those in control.
If you keep your money out of the banks, work and trade for what you need within your own community then you are not contributing. Sustainability is key to this transition...
@bishop419 sustainability was the key when we were an argicultural country. now sustainability wont even satisfy the most lack luster protestor. think about it. sustainability would maintain a certain rate that would most likely be too slow for a lot of people. thus causing more riots/protests. if we truely want to work things out, its through nationlistic expansion. hopefully spaceward. thats where the money is at. and that will satisfy america's greed for at least a long while
Have you ever read the book "Ishmael" by Daniel Quin? Great read for this top of nationalistic expansion or as he called it humans being out of balance with there food supply. If you do the math by the year 3000 we would need over 4000 planets the size of earth to support the humans races population growth. Live simple and in balance with nature, it is the only answer. When we step back and allow nature to guide us instead of our egos then we will find harmony.
@bishop419 not to get all freaky on you, but in order for everyone to do that, some would have to be starve or be killed. sustainibility is about moderation. which human population doesnt have. and we constantly defy natures attempts at keeping the natural level down. and ill read that book
It is a little freaky. It suggests that we should not feed starving nations, that we allow people to live and die according to natures laws. It is hard to accept at first but I eventually understood that no matter how many solutions we come up with as humans for fixing our situation there is always an opposite unforeseen consequence for our actions.
@bishop419 its sad, i know, but someone will always get hurt. in your happiness there is anothers sorrow. for every reaction there is and equal and opposite reaction. and thats why these protests wont go anywhere. we are only hurting ourselves. not to say we should hurt other countries, but inevitably we should. and we will. otherwise America will fade away. Our nation has always been the rebel/bully/agressor. if we lose that, then we might as well just lay down and stop trying
@RunningEagle2011 That simply isn't true. Our nation started as an experiment. There was a society founded on individual freedom and limited government. Today what we see is what the architects of past built the constitution to protect us from... it was really a very noble idea, it's too bad it didn't work out. The state will fall, as the people begin to see its inherent evil...just like state sponsored slavery and religious persecution, once the evil is pointed out- it ceases to exist.
@RunningEagle2011 I don't understand part of your argument... American against American battles should not exist. ok sure I can accept that. but what's the alternative? that all these people stay in their homes and pretend their isn't a problem? I mean after all, they don't want to put the police in an uncomfortable situation where they have to kick the crap out of college students in "the line of duty." Alternative: honorable policeman? join occupy and be on the side that doesn't carry guns
@bobobob1230 theres several alternatives. theres of course not doing anything. theres the radical alt. of imperialism to further american prosperity, thus, in theory putting us in a golden age. theres a modest alt. of each citizen taking their own initiative for voting and becoming involved in gov. theres the slow alt. which is start a moral revolution (not as extreme as the second great awakening) but to where business owners no longer cheat and lie. theres a lot other than am. vs am.
@HAILParkzilla: it's people like you that turn everything around and make it all about the police...EVERY time. The police are doing their job...they are following orders (in Oakland's case, Quan specifically told them to remove all protesters; however, she later changed sides and allowed the protesters to stay...thus pissing off both sides).

"Police violence breaks out..." Oh, you mean in Syria.
wayinbgi 3 months ago

The same agency that left Iraq Veteran Scott Olsen unconscious in Oakland with a fractured skull at Occupy Oakland during that peaceful protest.
landsculpture 3 months ago
@landsculpture: how things are exaggerated and turned around. He was not knocked unconscious, and the injury was reportedly caused by a flying objected thrown by one of the protesters. At least that's what the news said, and considering that the media is usually anti-police, for them to make that statement must mean it's true.

Anonymous, could you please hack the police computers and send them flowers, they deserve them for their good work. . .

Violent police are the terrorists, beating unarmed peaceful protesters.
Across the nation, these police must be tried and jailed, immediately.
Obama is acting no better than Syria's ruler.
naturesmeds 4 months ago
@naturesmeds True that, The police, set in place to "protect and serve" have lost sight of that and ARE the terrorists by beating defenseless students with weapons of local destruction. There is no trust and we no longer feel safe with this form of protection.

Stay strong police officers of America, these people are not what represent america, these people represent anarchy
RunningEagle2011 4 months ago
@RunningEagle2011
Since when is protesting plutocracy anarchy?
proatheism 4 months ago
@proatheism tell me whats not anarchy. people are rebelling against the police calling them the 1%. and since the police enforce the law and anarchy is lawlessness, then the people there are accepting anarchy. that's by no means a peaceful protest.
RunningEagle2011 3 months ago
@RunningEagle2011
What is the difference between anarchy and rebellion? Perspective!!!! Those in power and their supporters call it anarchy while the people call it revolution.
Example: The American revolution, England would have called our actions anarchy or terrorism we call it revolution!
bishop419 3 months ago
@bishop419 perspective can be applied to anything in life tho. so then whats the point of ever fighting. why not just try to understand eachother's perspective through labored work. its easy to fight and rebel. its difficult to get someone to understand something from your view.
RunningEagle2011 3 months ago
@RunningEagle2011
Who's talking about fighting? These protesters are peaceful and I pray that it stays this way. This is a peaceful rebellion! We are just not going to participate in a system that does not care for the peoples best interest any longer.
bishop419 3 months ago
@bishop419 these are semi peaceful...the peaceful protesters are the like the people still sitting outside of the white house since the vietnam war protesting nuclear power/weapons. a lot of these protests are becoming more and more violent. look up berkley. i have a friend who goes there and he says that its getting out of hand. people are litterally cornering the police and yelling and throwing things at them.
RunningEagle2011 3 months ago
@RunningEagle2011
I do not see people being violent, i see people being passionate! They do not come to the protests in riot gear with weapons. Why are the police there? What are they protecting? Let the people gather! Their opposition to what is our basic constitutional right is causing most of the resistance we are seeing now.
bishop419 3 months ago
@bishop419 the police are paid, through tax dollars, by the people, to show up in full gear, to quell things that they believe is getting out of hand. hitler was passionate to kill the jews. should there have been a limit imposed on him saying, "ok we get u hate jews, but dont kill them" ... thats the police (not to compare americans to hitler, but its the first thing that popped into my mind). whom are there to mediate in a sense
RunningEagle2011 3 months ago
@RunningEagle2011 Sounds great. Let us venture into this far fetched scenario, we must negotiate a deal between the sheep and the wolves. The sheep want to peacefully graze on the land. The wolves want to eat the sheep. when are you going to volunteer to be eaten to save your fellow sheep? Then who is next? and so on and so on. Negotiation is between two reasonable people. The US government or Bankers or any of them in social power are not reasonable. They use this term loosely.
ancdev 3 months ago
@ancdev people aren't open minded enough to negotiate. you get someone like obama who comes in the pictures praising change, and everyone orgasms over the thought of instant gratification. u dare to challenge that wolves and sheep can negotiate friendly, but i guarentee that a deal could be made. we are the sheep, the wolf is the rich. they are our protection. we are their fodder. as of right now, theyre running out of fodder, but yet we arent running out of protection. be thankful

@RunningEagle2011
Rebelling is not anarchy. Go actually look up what the definition is. Our countries founders rebelled against the British, but did not want anarchy.

HAILParkzilla 3 months ago
@HAILParkzilla Thomas Jefferson also said it was ok to own human beings as slaves to run the economy. I don't trust him on economics and people with this fed fantasy haven't been paying attention to the real causes of this, but instead wish to maintain that paranoid right-wing delusion of the fed.
imadizzy1 3 months ago 9
@imadizzy1 You should go check out your history books, had he gone against slavery at the time we wouldn't have a constitution because he wouldn't have been able to hold a position in politics. Guess where the constitution frame work came from... Indian Law.. guess who was ACTUALLY selling the slaves... other black people. And slavery was not as wide spread as history books make it sound.. and was primarily in the south.
Adeptmind 3 months ago
@Adeptmind That's the fundamental issue here. In that the black people themselves were selling off their own kind. Really says something about life back 'home'. I'm not condoning slavery or their ill treatment thus far, but I can say with confidence that their lives in north america are much better. But the issue with man is that he is never satisfied with what he has, or if he was, he would be in paradise.
WilliamTapley 3 months ago
@imadizzy1 Do some reading on how money currently works in America and tell me it's not corrupt. The US government is owned by the Fed because of it's policies.
AdamsSeed 3 months ago
@AdamsSeed yes! outdated policies and (old pruned congressmen) do not represent the youth of America.
niceguy1060 3 months ago
@imadizzy1 Yes, we are delusional. We think gold is money, that govt prints money to solve its problems. We are so delusional we are making a fortune, because we own gold instead of dollars. China and India outnumber us big time, and are getting richer, and they buy over 50% of the worlds production of gold ( money). What you believe is irrelevant. Lenin was quoted by Keynes, who said inflation couldnt be diagnosed as to cause by 1 man in 1000. Enjoy the company, you are in the 1000!
luvcheney1 3 months ago
@HAILParkzilla thomas jefferson also believed that if america were to stay sane, then the south should expand slavery in order to maintain a phase of agriculture and not a phase of commerce. that is where that quotes roots lie from. Thomas jefferson wanted no banks and central farm plantations in order to have quiet and orderly control of an ever growing country. therefore, you support slavery (indirectly of course)
RunningEagle2011 3 months ago
@RunningEagle2011 so in reality if you support the police, you support the banks, and if you support the banks then you support the politicians who are bought and controlled by the banks. How can we win this fight if people like you will not open your eyes to the corruption caused by these higher entity's. Life does not have to be this way. I was not put on this planet for the leisure of the 1%. Politicians, bankers, police and corporations would not exist without my tax dollars or hard work.
HAILParkzilla 3 months ago
@HAILParkzilla Also, i see the corruption. Its people like you that are impatient. all you want is things to happen right here and right now. You dont want a slow transition into the better future because that would take too long (and i know that that would suck). but for people to protest like this against the police is just wrong. american against american in heated battles should not exist. these police officers are middle class and are just doing their job
RunningEagle2011 3 months ago
@RunningEagle2011
You are right, they are just doing there jobs. Question is who do the police really work for?
bishop419 3 months ago

Not all of us work for the same boss and not all of us that work for a living are working for those in control.
bishop419 3 months ago
If you keep your money out of the banks, work and trade for what you need within your own community then you are not contributing. Sustainability is key to this transition...
bishop419 3 months ago
@bishop419 sustainability was the key when we were an argicultural country. now sustainability wont even satisfy the most lack luster protestor. think about it. sustainability would maintain a certain rate that would most likely be too slow for a lot of people. thus causing more riots/protests. if we truely want to work things out, its through nationlistic expansion. hopefully spaceward. thats where the money is at. and that will satisfy america's greed for at least a long while
RunningEagle2011 3 months ago
@RunningEagle2011
When we step back and allow nature to guide us instead of our egos then we will find harmony.
bishop419 3 months ago
@bishop419 not to get all freaky on you, but in order for everyone to do that, some would have to be starve or be killed. sustainibility is about moderation. which human population doesnt have. and we constantly defy natures attempts at keeping the natural level down. and ill read that book
RunningEagle2011 3 months ago
@RunningEagle2011
It is a little freaky. It suggests that we should not feed starving nations, that we allow people to live and die according to natures laws. It is hard to accept at first but I eventually understood that no matter how many solutions we come up with as humans for fixing our situation there is always an opposite unforeseen consequence for our actions.
bishop419 3 months ago
@bishop419 its sad, i know, but someone will always get hurt. in your happiness there is anothers sorrow. for every reaction there is and equal and opposite reaction. and thats why these protests wont go anywhere. we are only hurting ourselves. not to say we should hurt other countries, but inevitably we should. and we will. otherwise America will fade away. Our nation has always been the rebel/bully/agressor. if we lose that, then we might as well just lay down and stop trying
RunningEagle2011 3 months ago
@RunningEagle2011
You got it!!! Lets lay down and stop trying!!! Who wants to live the way we have been any longer!
bishop419 3 months ago
@RunningEagle2011 That simply isn't true. Our nation started as an experiment. There was a society founded on individual freedom and limited government. Today what we see is what the architects of past built the constitution to protect us from... it was really a very noble idea, it's too bad it didn't work out. The state will fall, as the people begin to see its inherent evil...just like state sponsored slavery and religious persecution, once the evil is pointed out- it ceases to exist.
deathzeppelin84 3 months ago
@RunningEagle2011 I don't understand part of your argument... American against American battles should not exist. ok sure I can accept that. but what's the alternative? that all these people stay in their homes and pretend their isn't a problem? I mean after all, they don't want to put the police in an uncomfortable situation where they have to kick the crap out of college students in "the line of duty." Alternative: honorable policeman? join occupy and be on the side that doesn't carry guns
bobobob1230 3 months ago
@bobobob1230 theres several alternatives. theres of course not doing anything. theres the radical alt. of imperialism to further american prosperity, thus, in theory putting us in a golden age. theres a modest alt. of each citizen taking their own initiative for voting and becoming involved in gov. theres the slow alt. which is start a moral revolution (not as extreme as the second great awakening) but to where business owners no longer cheat and lie. theres a lot other than am. vs am.
RunningEagle2011 3 months ago
@HAILParkzilla: it's people like you that turn everything around and make it all about the police...EVERY time. The police are doing their job...they are following orders (in Oakland's case, Quan specifically told them to remove all protesters; however, she later changed sides and allowed the protesters to stay...thus pissing off both sides).
