  • marty and the superlatives, the best band ever, so tight, kenny and marty two best guitarists in the world. and what an excellent mandolin player marty stuart is.

  • Rave on, Marty. ♫ ♪ Fantastic music ♫ ♪

  • I love Marty and cant wait to see him at the watseka theatre in July.

  • The bass player is Paul Martin who was a lead singer of Exile from 1987 to 1994.

  • It was originally written and recorded by Neil Young. It reached no. 33 on the country chart in 1986.

  • Marty and his band came to UK in feb 2011 the steel player wasn't there unfortunately but what a great show, they did some awesome bluegrass harmonies which just blew me away. The drummer Harry Stinton has a great voice so to has Paul Martin on bass, Kenny Vaughan on lead guitar and vocals wow ! great band Paul Martin reminds me of Don Rich great harmonies and a perpetual smile !

  • If I had a quarter for every guy like @19Truth53 that anonimously makes claims to being "a multi-talented musician" but doesn't give the details, I'd retire. What band are you in? Ever sell a record or play anywhere we've heard of?

  • they even put alittle tip of the hat to Buck Owens in there. I love how they reference the classics.

  • damn that sounds good

  • Marty is a great musician, but damn Kenny Vaughan is one stellar guitarist!

  • Marty is my boy and all, but the superlatives are more like the superlaxitives....but I love me some Marty. Gotta love Marty if you come from MS...

  • This twerp butchers a really nice Neil Young Song. Hey Marty, you NEVER were that cool!

  • @19Truth53 If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything @ all, please. Marty Stuart just happens to be one of the greatest guitar players in any genre of music, plus he just happens to be the ultimate country music performer, & historian of country music. He was born to do this!!

  • Is that an ORDER, Stalin!? Define "Greatest Guitar Players in any Genre.." I'm sure guys like Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck would take exception (both of who's careers and accomplishments BURY prissy Marty's 'Big Dog-Small Pond' efforts). I'm also sure that guys like Dwight Yoakum and Buck Owens would have raised eyebrows at your stupid contention of Stewart being "the ultimate country music performer." Who gives a shit about his "historian" credentials? Is he now vying for an tenure at Vandy?

  • No, I don't give anyone ORDERS & I do not appreciate such a rude remark! I am 61 yrs old, plus a concert promoter, so I know a little about music & performers! Eric Clapton nor Jeff Beck would take exception to my remarks about Marty. They both have respect for him.Neither would Dwight Yoakum or Buck Owens.Who gives a "shit" about Marty's historian credentials? I do, plus so does anyone that knows anything about music in any genre.Yes, he could have tenure @ Vanderbilt U because he is that smart!

  • Well, I don't appreciate your BUTTINSKI appearance out of nowhere, Sparky. And I'm 57 years old and a multi-talented musician in a working band, so I pretty much know what I'm talking about, TOO! I'm sure Clapton, Beck, Yoakum, and Owens (rest his soul) appreciate your baseless assumptions as to what they think and don't think. I'm so very glad you just LOVE Stewart's supposed "historical knowledge," but I'll pit my 87 year old MOTHER's musical knowledge against poofy-hair Marty's any day.

  • @19Truth53 If you do not want anyone else's response then don't post on here

  • Hey, don't make a fuck to me, bro. You called down the thunder, so now you got it!

  • I would agree that Nashville has become a beautiful people factory, which is why you haven't seen anyone like Marty Stuart or Rodney Crowell or others with a so called hit lately. I personally never listen to "country " radio but there is alot of good old traditional stuff being played down on Broadway each day.

Wow, I said all that without offending anyone who happens to be gay, jewish, or from Arkansas. By the way, I love Buck, and Willie Cantu, his drummer still plays clubs on Broadway.

  • Oh yeeeees, don't "offend" anyone, for God's sake. There's than "new" 'Nashville' trash coming through.

  • Marty Stuart is keeping real country alive. He changes this from a whiny, nasal piece of crap from a folk rock hack and truly goes back to the country.

  • The Opry is great, but a full Marty Stuart show is better! Hope you can get there to hear it in person sometime. Marty loves this music and won't "call it quits" until he dies.

  • To the guy about 8 post down...That tele your looking at was once "Mick Ronsons" from David Bowie...Alot of hits in the past from that guitar... And yes he does play a old tube screamer...but with his twins not his princeton... I've played his though his rig... He also has a collection of amps that would dazzle your mind... He is COUNTRY...The last of the original era... Kenny is also the equal kickass rockabilly cat... Go see them in concert..Its the next best thing to Zappa plays Zappa...

  • That "nerdy" guitar player is Kenny Vaughan, a man who could bury you alive with his guitar playing. Show some reverence.

  • I Never seen this before.

Marty is Great, and always has a killer band.

Always loved his cover of this song.

Who's the hip nerdy cowboy playing lead? lol

    He's real good.

I hope to see Marty at the Grand Ole Opry before he decides to call it quits.

Great Video here, crisp clear picture and audio.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • the are only three top country singers of all time. Marty Stuart, Johnny Cash, and Josh Turner!!!!

  • written by one of my favorites neil young. performed by my all time, love him, respect him, #1 singer/performer/musician in the world! Marty!!

  • wow

  • Marty Stuart, Kenny Vaughan and the boys! Just sensational stuff...I love these guys! Nice Tune as well...

  • I know Marty uses a TS9 Tube Screamer as well but I dont know if hes using it on this or not....I believe its just the amp like they said

  • it's just a blackface Fender (princeton reverb I believe) and the Tele on the bridge pickup with the tone rolled off to about 8. The key to this tone is having the reverb up and the amp up. A princeton is only 15w I think, so it's perfect for this setting.

  • The Superlatives are the best country band in America right now

  • also makes a great rockabilly and blues band too

  • Sorry but have to leave another comment......Anybody who dont like this is absolutly crazy!!!!!

  • YES YES YES!!!!

    Been Wanting this one!

  • MARTY HAS ONE AWESOME GUITAR TONE.

  • There are only a few of the "newer" cats that I like that are keeping it country. Well, they aren't really new. Brad Paisley, Lee Ann Womack and Josh Turner.

  • yes great song great pickin.Hey yall if you want to check out my Wolverton Mountain video where I sang it to Clifton Clowers himself on his 101st birthday.

  • big fender sound!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It's gotta have Fender to be country for me!!!

  • Thanks for posting these song clips. I can't get RFD-TV on my cable system.

COOL is: Marty & The Fabulous Superlatives.

  • Marty Rocks Again!!!!!!!!

    Love, James - the Deadlies

  • Wow! This version is even better than the one on "Tempted"! Different key, etc. And Paul gets a bass solo! :)

I love the "Buckaroo" and "Folsom Prison Blues" nods too! Very cool. It's neat to see Marty play another guitar every now and then. An Esquire, right?

The coolest band going, hands down.

Please keep posting these videos from the RFD show, complete songs like this! They're awesome to watch.

  • Cool is absoulutely right...It's nice that Marty Stuart is keeping the country flame alive...People like Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw make me want to puke!!!

  • YEZZSIR! Here I thought I was the only one who thought the same thing!!!

I wish my cable system would get this show on, and I wish Country Music would get back on the radio like it is supposed to be - not like the CRAP on the radio now. Hank, Waylon, Buck, Jerry Reed, and Hank Thompson are pukin' in their graves. The rest of us are pukin' as we speak!!!

    Amen brother!!!!

  • hey dale...as far as I know, this show is on RFD and it's only available on dish...my parents get to see it on their system...

  • I'm in Tennessee and get the show on DirecTV, Sat. nights at 8 on RFD-TV.

  • Yes this show is like the old shows we used to watch on saturday evening. I watch it every week if I can.
