OH MAI GOSH! SO THIS IS WHAT ITS CALLED! i remember hearing this from the advance kids in my middle school when i started it and a part got stuck in my head up until now! XD i was in 6th grade then and now im in 11th, lol, (searches music score quickly) O .o lol
This is awesome for an electric. They usually sound all... I cant even think of the word... Electric. Sounds best acoustic. But PRIME job! YOU'RE THE MAN NOW DAWG!
ahhh.... do you take classical lessons? if you do, you probably already know the "right" technique. loosen your wrist, dont move your elbow, flex your fingers, ect. Otherwise, I'd be glad to give you some tips. I'm lucky enough to have a very good teacher
the song is irish folk music. it's also called "celtic" but that's a more general term. However, since it's on the electric violin, it's not really traditional. so... neo-irish? i don't know exactly. it's only if-y because of the instrument i'm playing it on. not the best playing though. it was quite a while ago and just a rehersal. my opinion is that my electronics make it sound raunchy. I recently got an overdrive pedal which is much better than my old distortion... and i overdid the wah.
have you head ashley macissac's version? This reminds me of it. Very good playing, you definitely make fiddling sound cool. How long have you been playing?
Thanks. I just watched a video of it, sounds to me like electric bagpipes are playing the melody though. Personaly, not my favorite version (just preference), but im glad i checked it out. I had been playing for 6 years at the time.
isn't that what they told les paul about the classical guitar? it's a work in progress. if you want to hear GOOD electric fiddle music listen to mark wood. plus, violin is the instrument, not fiddle. fiddling was just as "wierd" when it started as this is. who care's if it's not 'supposed' to sound like that?
middle part makes my ears cringe... love the song, terrible on an electric fiddle, classic all the way. Still, he did well, almost as good as a friend of mine's version on a real fiddle.
@lurxtlifeson nice vox! what model is it? its a valvetronix right?

i usually try to dull the little thuds you get with the end bow strokes, but they really give this piece a lot more body! loving the wah-effect too!

Fiddles ain't meant to make that sound!!!!. they are intended for Celtic and Southern Music, not Metalic xD lol

Doesn't mark wood play for the Transiberian Orchestra?

Yeah.

Yeah Mark Wood is pretty much a God. I dunno how many strings he has on that monster that sits on his shoulder, but however he plays it is crazy.

I totally agree with you :)
GrangerGirl41 2 years ago
apart from the electric monstrosity in the middle, you have a very unique and appealing sound quality, quite impressive man..
