  • nice to see that there are turkish people among the protesters, who are holding photos of Alexis at 00:37

  • king of riot is comeing soon two store and the uprising of it going two be on my tagged profile and im adding this two my upcomeing new comic as well take care elexis r. n. p

  • It's not a matter of nationality, nor history or philosophical roots. It's a matter of dignity. A value their trying to take away from us. This is a war the system can't win.

from Athens with love to all

  • Greece is now officially my favorite country :P protesters, you are an inspiration to all revolutionaries around the globe.

  • even if it was only for one person, GOOD! that's the kind of attitude we need back here in North America the attitude where we give the government and police and inch and if they take so much as an inch and 1/128ths beat them back into place and remind them who pays thier salaries!

  • Warrivar

We have become consumer push overs, when ever our government says buy more to keep our economies solvent, we line up like a herd of cattle or sheep ready for that instant gratification, just so the money fat cats can stuff their gold threaded pockets and their offshore banks with multimillion dollar golden parachutes for bringing economic disaster, by outsourcing our jobs over seas so we are not able to back our mortgages.

  • Warrivar

Our complacency gets us no where real fast. If the government can not keep the super wealthy in check, but instead allow them selves to be corrupted by the wealthy elitists, rather than have fair redistribution of wealth for the well being of the community and society (health care, education, and social safety nets), then it is the peoples duty to protest against the government, and target the greedy wealthy assets by destroying what they have if we can not seize it. Fix it or else.

  • PLEASE remove the supposed to be greek comment of mr. pothos91

it is insulting the memory of the dead child .

  • I do not believe in evil . I believe in opression and resistance. Only a religious sheep would infer it is better to be corruptly ruled and beaten , than to rise up and free yourself. The innocent family of a despotic dictator or corrupt official has lost thier innocence by drinking the blood of the slaves they support the opression of. This is just a historic fact.

  • "consumerism is not the answer"....ironic how this is playing out from the people who gave the world so much, maybe they are trying to give the world another gift through these demonstrations

  • Γαμώτο Αλέξανδρος. Ελπίζω ότι θα σοσιαλιστική μπάσταρδους σήψης σε κόλαση.

  • what?are u greek?

  • WHAT THE F... are you saying? you wish him to die in hell ? your exact words mean : fuck aleksandros. i hope that bastards socialists will rot in hell.

WHAT KIND OF PERSON ARE YOU?

  • I saw some Comments about guys saying " all this for one person ? " are you fucking retarted? A KID WAS KILLED BY A POLICEMAN FOR NO SERIOUS REASON !!! WAKE UP This is VERY SERIOUS if you dont REACT Who knows what COMES NEXT also About breaking people's property dont worry thats why we have insurances and they get more money than the repairs actually cost so shut your mouth also the world has TO REALIZE ALWAYS BUT ALWAYS THE PEOPLE RULE THE COUNTRY UNless you sit on your fat ass ALL DAY

  • not every1 have enough money to get an insurance my friend... in greece ppl are geting 700 euros per month while the costs are like 700-800 per month (loans etc)...

  • THe Thing is The builders get 700 to 800 money per month my friend The shop keepers get at least 1500euros

  • iELKanda

    Well said!

Those who want their freedom will fight for it, and those who do not prefer to be slaves of others.

  • go to scool fagot and stop demolate other peoples property.

  • parmenion96

My point is that when the government becomes so out of touch with the will of the people, and when the government ignores the people, and does not not govern and lead the nation, then the people must let the government know in any way they can get the governments attention and to give the message of how seriousness and angry the people are. Some times elections are to far away to oust the government.

The gov. of Greece has sold out their people for the past 20 years.

  • oh realy? With burning out other peoples property? No sir if you burn a city you are worse than that you fight against. Not 1 mm acceptance for that.

  • parmenion96

I am not in support of burning "peoples" private property, nor killing people.

But when corrupt government officials, & especially unscrupulous financing institutions who care more about the integrity of their usury mechanisms & their bottom line, than care about whether children have a roof over their head, & their parents able to feed & cloth their children, afford health care & a good education....

    1/F

  • parmenion96

Should people adhere to the banks one sided usury demands or government crippling taxes?

When all civil channels fail, you march and protest and let them know. If this still fails then the government has failed it's people. Then what recourse is their for the people? Slavery?

NO! You specifically target those at fault!

The city belongs to the people and should never be burnt down.

The citizens of Greece do not burn down their cities and land, those are foreign elements.

    2/F

  • Have you once stopped to think " what in hell can drive a 1000 people to throw shit at cops!?". Would you be willing to toss a Molotov at a swat team for petty reasons? This is a serious issue and it deserves to be treated respectfully.

  • hello guys im greek and i was IN THAT RIOT THE REASON WE BROKE THE SHIT OUT OF THE CITY WAS BECAUSE the calm way to peacefully tell our opinion wasnt doing NOTHING AT ALL SO THEY GAVE US NO CHOICE BUT TO FUCK THEM UP

  • I'm from the US, and I wish the people here were as brave as you in Greece. the epicenter of the global economic disaster was right here in New York, and yet the people don't do anything about it.

  • You don't know a thing about me geoampas , but you are still arguing . You are clearly a sub-human . Go eat some garbage.

  • do something good for the world. Die

  • Geompas, Do you feel that the religious videos you favourited might make your opinion seem less important to people that do not still believe in ghosts and withdoctors? Also is your intrest in religion in keeping with insulting me several times? Also , do you think all the inbreeding in greek mythology have given you a predisposition to idiocy?

  • ok when the "anarchists" burn down your property tell them good work lads.

    I didnt vote the government.

And judging by your comments you re indeed a moron.

  • You can't even express yourself properly , I pity you. Geoampas you are, juding by your complete inabiliy to communicate, the fact that you have no opinion, and your rude comments to people , a moron.

  • feel pity for your self only, you re so pathetic that you deserve it

  • "if the elections could make a difference in our society they would be illegal" αν οι εκλογες πραγματικα μπορουσαν να αλλαξουν κατι θα ηταν παρανομες...

  • Solidarity from the US to all my Greek brothers and sisters.

  • what are you gonna do bomb us????

  • what?

  • your solidarity starts with bombing we have enough problems and you have already caused enough to the world.

So keep your solidarity for your country only .

  • You have no idea what solidarity means do you?

  • ask an Iraqi, they know what american solidarity means. You will not like the answer

  • You didn't tell me anything. What do you think solidarity is?

  • yes I know, whats that you are doing now a word game? hahahaha you want a definition to be satisfied ??Check a dictionary hahaha

  • Dude you are the one accusing me of wanting to drop bombs on your country. So I want to know, what does solidarity mean to you? Do you even know?

  • In which part you dont get the irony and the sarcasm of my comments against you?? What else you want to understand?

I know what it is, I just dont want yours.

  • *sigh* I'm done talking to you. If you don't know what I mean when I say solidarity, and you can't give me a definition without talking in circles then I don't need to waste my time.

  • did you read and understand my comments?!?!?!?!?!?

You better go back to school cause obsiously you didnt finish it.

    bye bye ....dude

  • geoampas, most people in the US don't support our wars, and would be outraged too if they knew some of the things the US military and CIA does. The problem is that the corporate media hides it from the people. As always, the biggest enemy of the government is its own people, and the is especially true in the US, hence the cover-ups in the media.

  • This is going on globally and the media is NOT reporting on it? Why?

  • The greek people need to make lists of who works for riot police and execute a few families of these traitor pigs.

  • What????? Are you a moron or something???? When the problem is corruption how the hell are you gonna solve problems if you kill people even if they are in the police????

The politicians are the traitors and guess the people vote them!!!!!Stupid but true. And by those so called "anarchist" poor citizens were damaged not the state. How would you feel if you lost your shop your car your property but them???

Next time think twice before you write such a stupid comment .

  • Nice name calling , thats like me calling you queer for being a pussy. I think that you should also get executed for being a lapdog. You can hardly explain your point and oversimplify the situation . "Guess the people vote them ?"

What does that even mean you retard. Go be a government asskisser, I hope the anarchists get you . The collateral damage that you are asking me how i feel if i suffered would be avoided by a channeled purge. You are to stupid to even comprehend my initial statement.

  • What an awful thing to say! By killing their innocent families you become the very thing that is being resisted. Evil.

  • I would also like to add, that the Laws protecting Universities and student protests do not apply when criminal rioters. Attempting to shield themselves from the authorities, the rioters (most who are not even students) are using the laws to conduct their criminal intentions against the government. However, the laws of Greece also include that criminals cannot use any private or public buildings to shelter their activities. Yet the Greek government does not enforce this law and permits the riot.

  • The Student Protest has been overtaken by various self-interest groups and of course, criminally motivated rioters and anarchists.

When people blindly say "Student Protest", do they actually know what the protest was about before the shooting of the 15 year old boy?

I dont think the world knows or truly cares.

  • I wish the young people in other countries woulod take inspiration from their Greek peers and follow their example.

Is this rebellion still going on?

  • You are really a twisted person because you know that what I said about "most people" was in response to your reference about being an intelecutal. I was merely pointing out that what I was saying is common sense. This has got nothing to do with being anarchist.

  • 2. I said: "That was my point from the start". We weren't even discussing when I exposed said point, so it would be impossible to imply you. Really, you should read the whole conversation. You are clearly confused.

  • Old ladies can be anarchists too. I am an anarchist and I've met anarchists of every age, gender, color, size, etc... including old ladies.

  • bravo ! ...

    it's called the 'people's movement'

but they call us 'anarchists ...

    how convenient , right ?

  • I am not exactly sure what you mean. What I said was in response to the video commentary where the people protesting are said not to be exclusivly anarchists, while presenting the fact that there are "well-dress ladies" and "grannies" on the streets. Well... I mean... There are "woman" and "grannies" who ARE anarchists. Just think of emma goldman, for instance. So, that was pointless.

  • what i mean is that the label 'anarchist' means nothing in this case ...

these are people , citizens ,

    all of the population ...

the media calls them 'anarchists' ...

  • Well, SOME old ladies ARE self-identified anarchists, the movement is strong there, and there is no sense in judging one's political views by their age or gender. At least that was what I wanted to make clear. I don't think there is anything wrong in identifying onself with anarchism. Maybe we are talking about different topics here...

  • well anarchism is not what the media calls it ...i think you made yourself more than clear ..

so than you are here too in greece ? that's great ...

  • you may wish to define yourself as an anarchist but not all greeks wish to be defined as such ..

in this case it involves not only anarchists but the people as well ...

    i hope i've made myself clear ...

  • Obviously, not all Greeks are anarchists, but you shouldn't persuade people of this by pointing out that some Greek people are old ladies. Because some old ladies are anarchists too. That was my point from the start; not that the journalist was wrong to say that this movement is not just comprised of anarchists. I have never argued that. Cheers.

  • excuse me ? where did i persuade anybody of anything ? are you feelin' ok ?

" some greek people are old ladies" ...whah?

sorry don't have any idea what you are talkin' about ..

we ain't on the same page ..

yamas ( cheers in greek ) lol ..

  • When I say you, I dont't mean YOU, personally, but whoever is engaged in this form of argument. Read what I wrote. I was making my point clear because it seemed that you were coming of as if I wasn't aware that not all those involved in the protests are anarchists. Saying "you" in such context is correct in English, I believe.

  • i did read what you wrote ..

now how about YOU read it ..

you addressed me and said " you" ...

    bye now ..

  • I am guessing you don't read much. It is very common to use "you" as in a hipothetical subject. What I said doesn't imply that YOU personally engaged in this persuation, rather I am saying that you (as anybody) should understand what I said about persuation. I said this to make a point about what I was saying.

  • freedomclub: we can't all have your intellect ...

    lmao

  • intellect?! No, I'm pretty sure that most people understand what I wrote. I think you can understand it too. That's why I said you were confused and needed to re-read the conversation. I hope that at least now you understand that I have never implied you on the issue of persuation.

  • most people ? where ? i thought you were an anarchist ? afraid to speak yourself?

    tell you what sweetie ..

    let's make a deal ..

    you stay lost in rhetoric & self-importance & i will 'take action ' ...

    whatdya' say ? ...

or will your ineloquence now lead to obsession ...

please stop addressing comments to me ...

    i don't have time for you ...

    thanks ..

  • If I say "Hi there", and someone comes back to me, saying that I am an idiot and that I am not making any sense, you bet I will talk about how "most people" understand what I said as a greeting. In this case, I am not using other people, as in getting behind them. I am simple making a reference about common sense. It seems to me that you are the one involved in "senseless rethoric". Stop insulting me and I will not respond to you. Simple as that.

  • you are a liar ...

don't you realize anyone can read the comments for themselves ...

get off my back & take your med's troll....

  • Now you are not saying anything. Where have I lied? Stop insulting and make a point with some sense. Otherwise, this conversation is over.

  • We as americans sleeping in a dark isolated inviorment.many world countries had done something about corrupt governments & tyrans supporters of G W Bush's crime family of thugs/world terrorists, saudies & bin laddins.America with its neo-con conservative idiology supporting corporate corruption's hunger of profits theiving world resorces & bring down popular governments who stand against WTO,WMF refuse to perticipate in crminal wars against peacefull nations.El Toroوطن حر و شعب سعيد

  • This is no good. How can corrupting things with destuctive hands help anything? The government and banks won't take the brunt of it. The taxpayers will.

  • "Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable." ~JFK

What do you expect people to do when their government has gone totally rogue? Remain enslaved, keep "voting" and hope that works eventually? We all know (those of us who are informed anyway) that voting is a fraud and only gives the illusion of freedom. Exactly what do you recommend to these people? Just curious...

  • I don't have a perfect solution of course, because people will always turn to corruption in any system. Even when voting is a fraud I don't see how violence teaches the corrupt anything except how to fight harder, hurting more. They aren't "learning a lesson", just throwing more tear gas. If people are enslaved they should try to create a new system, one that is better because it is has as little corruption as possible and is nonviolent. How to do this exactly, you're right-I'm not sure.

  • Climate Change Crisis? What happend to the Global Warming Scare? Have you upgraded? Please give me a break and stick to realities.

  • That kind of stuff is going to be happening in the United States real soon. People need to understand that the real enemy are those central banks who control the currency in their country. When you keep printing money it only devalues your currency and destroys your savings. Destroy central banking and fractional reserve banking first. Know what the Council of Foreign Relations is and buy silver. Forget gold silver is the way to go.

  • Goggle:

  • You got to love the greeks. Philosophy, math= inteligence = anarchism.

  • lmao...haha

  • HAHA at 4:00 go pissed off Greeks!

  • they're showing us how it's done.

  • don't wish: create your own insurrection. the united states right now is ripe.

  • Fuck an a, thank you so much for the truth. I really hate our US media. The greek people are braver than we are, look at them. C'mon america lets grow a pair!

  • God Bless the Greeks. They are fighting the NWO. You are not free nor have you ever been. The courts in the USA are UCC. Uniform Commercial Code. It is the law of commerce. Commerce does not have rights and the constitution is not recognized in these courts. You can be held in contempt for citing a document that does not pertain to you, criminal trespass. Thus, simple contract law. Unless you were an original signee or one of the 50 states it does not apply to you and never has. WAKE UP SLAVES!

  • ang9967

Your name on ID is a "straw man" as well.

If some official ever asks for your ID, and asks you if that is you...you must say it is not you. How can a piece of ID or name on paper be you personally...never ever ever.

You take that argument to the supreme court and win.

  • "The issue which has swept down the Centuries, and must be fought - sooner or later - is the people versus the banks."

    Lord Acton

  • kevinz1985

    I agree,

President Thomas Jefferson, President Andrew Jackson & President Woodrow Wilson all understood, a private central bank has the power to destroy our lives & STEAL OUR FREEDOMS.

    Also Goggle:

John F. Kennedy - Executive Order No. 11110

  • oh wow..i guess those peaceful protests were ignored..but i don't see how this helps

  • Support the Real News

  • VIVA LA GRECE

  • shut your fucking mouth they have a right to express themselves they are definetly going at it the wrong way but you cant just call them leftist barbarians

  • Greeks are true hero's

  • Voilà, the real reason the new world order won't pass....this generation won't let them realise their sick agenda! to the people of Greece I say RIGHT ON!

  • Makes me have a lot of respect for the Greeks. At least their balls arn't snipped like in the west.

  • It's been aroung 75 years since the spanish revolution, it's about time anarchists had something to say again.

  • I wish I was Greek right now.

  • you and me both.

  • There is no climate change crisis. Global warming in a hoax! Al Gore is a lying piece of corporate elitist scum! He needs to give that Nobel prize back.

  • how ironic that the unraveling of the western/industrial dream is starting in Athens. How appropriate!

  • i wish we would do the same. End the wars .

  • The youth of Greece are showing the world that there are people, and secular people at that, who are unwilling to passively accept the same old shit and are more than willing to fight.

  • it's all ages ..

the seniors also have protests on designated days ..

  • sure they will find money for you CORPORATE MONEY AND THEN OWN YOU!!!

  • The bedrock of democracy leads the consumerist revolution!

  • to bad they havent played this on national tv......

  • Thank god more and more people now in Greece don't trust the tv news.

  • lol i just dont watch tv anymore havent for 2 years lol canadian tv is pritty bad for one sided coverage

  • so true cres' ..it was enuf to find out that 'kathimerini ' was at bilderburg ..

  • Not only some Greek reporters but also the leaders of the 2 major political parties were at bilderburg. If we really were the birthplace of democracy we wouldn't allow undemocratically elected groups consisted by capitalists and politicians to decide our future without a grumble. Democracy is an illusion, the sooner we understand this, the better for us.

  • i know my friend ..

as soon as we realize the 'concept' of nations & countries is merely an illusion ...

this is a global agenda ..

  • Cres45

You have it wrong...democracy is the only solution that works. The problem is when democracy is undermined by the wealthy elitists.

Supposed it was community based democracies, all intelligible voters instead of voting on reps votes on policy through monthly referendums. It's easier to corrupt 500 elected officials

  • Cres45

    (error: Intelligible should be eligible)

...than it is to corrupt a whole nation of 10 million that would vote on policy.

Or community reps based on a merit system qualifying reps who want to run, but must have recall, and no party based systems. Who is a rep suppose to represent after all a party, an idealism, or the community?

Appointees don't work because you favours for favours going rapent.

And a politburo system serves only political elitists and not the people, eg. USSR.

  • Look Aegiaeus, real democracy can be archived only in small communities like the cities-states of the ancient Greece where all the people equal participate and take decisions. The state democracy of "divide & conquer" that we have now is really responsible for this corrupted elitist system.

  • Cres45

I totally agree with you, grass root community and neighborhood direct democracy is the way to go, no matter how daunting the scale is.

But also I believe party politics, the lack of transparency and recall mechanisms is a huge contributor to the corruption as well.

  • what about foreign involvement? hypothesis: taking the existing unrest and understandable dissatisfaction to undermine the stability of the country, as a result of Greece supporting a Russian pipeline through its territory...

  • We could use some of this same outrage in the United States. It's more than deserved.

  • Is the CIA trying to bring back the Greek colonels?

  • The CIA is protecting the interests of the corporate elitists. Who are the Greek colonels?

  • The Greek colonels were the 'fascist' Greek military government of 19671974 put into power by the 'fascist' CIA. See Operation Gladio - 'NATO terrorism' in Europe. The CIA may organise extremist acts in order to bring the military back into power.

  • bingo ...

  • I hope more countries will have the same courage as the people of Greece!

To bad The Real News don't support iDeal, only Visa and Creditcards hehe I don't have such a card :(

  • Statism must come to end. Corporations that have stolen from humans through and not through the state must be abolished. The way the news tries to demonize anarcho syndicalists is laughable at best and despicable at worst. Sure a few attacked innocent shop keepers but the true criminals and robbers are in the state and the monopolistic banks.

  • There's some merit to that and there's a documentary in my favorites list about the Argentinian experience when they were raped by the elitist minority in their country. Ultimately hate cant solve hate anarchist become the tools of their oppressor 9 out of 10 times. In a battle of philosophy violence is rarely more than a bandaid that opens the flood gates to a new tyranny by a different name.

  • Like "anarchist" Lenin and "anarchist" Castro? I am not pro violence because I think it does more harm then good, espeically right now. But a time may come when freedom has the support to fight the opressors who are commiting violence against us.

  • i think that violence is definitely in the cards and not just in america. i also think we'll see a major outpouring of compassion and caring like never before on the other end of the spectrum. i only wish the elitist minority i wish would abandon this greedy strategy of "owning" mankind...

  • Like Anarchist Utah Phillips! Check him out here:

  • "If governance requires force then its not an advanced form of society. Its just plain tyranny."

nice said, but show me only one governance or

official government in this world which power is not based on a monopol over force...,

it is like Mao said, power growes out of the barrel of the guns...., all the other crap (human rights, international law) is mostly

a weapon in propragandistic war (let´s blame the Sovjets, let´s blame Islam, let´s blame Hitler blablabla), humankind = naked monkeys

  • 200,000yrs or perhaps more of development was based mostly on cooperation. You cant migrate out of Africa and explore the continents by warring every stpe of the way. Exploration draws us together. Domination and profit split us apart..we need a new collective mission and ethos for humanity or its more of the same. Everything you state is based on the State and I believe if the truth is revealed we are ready to move past that right now. But greed is keeping us stuck

  • 2cnd Amendment in the US Constitution, the people have a Right to Bear Arms. If the government does not abide by the will of the people, then the people have the right to make things right again and if need be by force....a gun barrel.

If all gun barrels are distributed evenly amungst the people thaen everything will be fine...sad but true.

As archaic and primitive it may sound it is hard wired in us, the good old Mexican stand off as aditerent and to keep everyone honest.

  • This is what happens in a capitalist culture. Some have nothing, and some have it all.

The end of the world is near!!!

  • the end of the world isn't near my friend. Trust me. When we are at the brink we will change for the better. Or we die as a species.

  • Coming to a neighborhood near you in 2009 - 2010.

  • corporate news sucks.. they mask the truth but many still believe like the good sheople they are.

  • If you like the Real News then make it the footer of your emails so everyone you come into contact with can start watching something fresh

  • good job

  • this is still going on ? wow...

  • My thoughts exactly.

  • "I killed the bank" - tombstone Andrew Jackson

    Let us kill the zombie.

  • First!

  • Globalism. Doesnt. Work.

Self sufficient small communities is the more natural evolution of humanity NOT singular global rule.

  • ummmmmm it depends. Things change man. Globalization isn't anything new and we seem to have forgot that part of history. Its not that its against the nature of humanity. ITs that our civilization isn't ready for it without being forced into by dictatorship or an outside threat(aliens). We aren't socially advanced enough.

  • If governance requires force then its not an advanced form of society. Its just plain tyranny. Corporate dominant global governance operated by an elitist minority is a step backward IMHO. There's no transparency and its based on consumption and control of and by the masses. Pretty archaic if you ask me.

  • I don't think the size of the "community" should really be the issue but rather if it is voluntary.

  • and by who's doing the volunteering and what is the intent. if we're being dragged into a global framework by banks & corporations who want profit and abuse force to ensure control then they'll have to pursue extreme draconian measures to placate the masses. civil liberties as we think we have arent sustainable against that type of force.

  • No I agree with you on that. I really didn't disagree with your other statement I just personally don't think the focus should be on the size (not that you were exactly doing that).

  • well you just repeated what I said but worded it differently. I never made the assumption that we are an advance society XD
