  • @theflashbackaudio so how exactly do you connect this mic into garageband?

  • @xxxxBilboxxxx What interface are you using? I would try downloading and installing the latest driver for that hardware and then changing the input setting in garageband.

  • This is absolutely amazing! You have an awesome voice. I look forward to hearing more from you!

What preamp are using, what interface and what software? I'm guessing pro tools, but I would like to know for sure. :)

  • @PNCGOMEZ Thanks a lot. You'll probably laugh but i actually used Garageband for this. At this point I didn't have anything other than that. Now I use pro tools or logic for all my recordings. aaaaand I used whatever pre is in the M-Audio Fast Track.

  • @TheFlashbackAudio how did you get this to work on garageband?, i have the exact same mic and it just doesnt pick up sound

  • @PNCGOMEZ

Protools is MEGAHYPED because it is used in big name studios...but DAWs are not like stand alone recordiong machines...assuming all things in the signal chain are equal, Protools is not going to sound any better or woerse than any other DAW.. A recording made with Cubase will sound the same.

  • @morninggloryseed This is true. A dry recording will sound the same. It's what you are able to do to that recording in protools that exceeds all other programs.

  • @PNCGOMEZ

    What does Protools do differently?

Perhaps I simply lack a fundamental understanding of how Protools works because I am unaware of what would make it 'sound better' in how it prints music through a native or 3rd party plug in. As far as editing capabilities (ie to cut, copy, paste, erase with no modulation of the sound) I again fail to see what Protools does that I cannot in Cubase but I look forward to learning.

  • @morninggloryseed You are really overthinking it. Protools just has better effects. Plain and simple. You can do a lot more to an audio file in Protools than you can in any other recording software. Better EQ, better compression, etc. Of course if you are going to use nothing but 3rd party plug ins, then it has nothing to do with the program.

  • @PNCGOMEZ I concede I am unfamiliar with the native plugins that come with PT but I prefer outboard equipment for compression/coloring, etc. I still would like to hear WHY they are better. Why are PT 1s and 0s different from Cubase 1s and 0s? ;)

If I am mixing 'in the box' I use the Abbey Road plugins. They are the end all for me. I am in love with their sound and am pretty convinced that nothing will ever take their place as they mimic $10,000 units I could never afford.

  • You played the guitar? and you recorded the guitar with the nt-1 a?

  • @kevlar20 Yeah all with the Rhode

  • whats the full spec of your recordings? which preamp , interface what are you using it sounds nice

  • well done,pal

  • what are you recording to? like what program?

preciate it bro. keep it up

  • i also own the NT1A, it is absolutely fantastic, male or female vocals, it just does the job right! :-)

  • hi brother, plese give me thye name of the microphone that you have :)) thx

  • @alebehram Rode NT1-A. Same as the title haha

  • @TheFlashbackAudio thx bro, i need a mic for doing rap, so what do you think about neumann or apollo stereo costs about 800 € pls replay :))

  • @alebehram I'd say go cheaper, when you are picking a mic its best to choose something that suits your voice. You can find mics as cheap as $200 that you may like better than the highest end microphones. Personally I like the Rode but its up to you. Go try some out in the stores before you grab it and pick the best one

  • Thanks for the feedback! I'll have some original songs coming up within the next month or so so be sure to subscribe and let me know what you think. Also, if you have any questions about gear or recording I'd be glad to help out with what I can.

  • Wow. I really like this. Guitar sounds clear, crisp.. no background noise., Nicely mixed together, and nice vocals. I wish I could do stuff this good D;

  • Very good ;)

  • what stand u usin where u get it from?

  • @JesseRoyle1 The stand is one of those economy ones or whatever. I think every music shop has them. The shock mount came with the mic

  • @TheFlashbackAudio so jus an ordinary mic stand huh?

  • @JesseRoyle1 Yeah

  • You should try using the low cut filter on your mixer/preamp when you are plucking on the guitar. i know on some small computer speakers you can't tell the difference.

You should also try turning your headphones louder. when i have people in my studio they tend to sing really softly like you if it isn't loud enough.

    sounds nice though

  • @pjfadriquela Thanks for the tips! This was actually a while ago i'm actually in an audio engineering program now

  • Two people had a CADu37 they jealous because they cant afford this mic!

  • souds good!! i just got the same mic and im also suprised to know that you also have the m-audio fast tack. did you just record the video with a webcam on your computer?

  • @isabeabeau Thats awesome! And yeah I did. Too bad I can't afford an HD camera :P

  • @TheFlashbackAudio haha awesome. ill be using a webcam 2 :P

  • I love it! When you recorded your voice for the first time, did you feel like it wasn't the way you thought it was? How's the mic?

  • @RavensAndButterflies Thanks, and yeah it always sounds like completely different! This mic is awesome especially for the price :)

  • what soundcard or audio interface u used?

  • @jebonlalok M-audio Fast Track

  • bravo man

  • BRO wat stand u got for the mic man help me bro

  • @S4LatNYC I can't remember what stand i used... I think it was one of those economy ones or whatever... And if your wondering about the shock mount, i got that it a pack with the mic

  • Hi! about Rode nt1:

acapella on the minus (instrumentals) are well superimposed? how much equalization is acapella needed?

  • Good cover. Do you feed this directly into your fast track or you use a preamp? If so, which kind?

  • @Brad1yyz Directly in bro. You can get some pretty kick ass sounds from that thing

  • Which interface are u using man?

  • @nize19LSR Just running through an M-audio Fast track

  • this mic is expensive..

  • @jgsky Its actually not that bad, only about $300 including the cable, pop filter and mount. For a good condenser mic its great! :)

  • is the mic any good

  • @KINGD815TV Yes :)

  • im jealous lol

  • Nicely does it!!!! Beautiful!! two people where drunk and missed the "like" button by a few millimeters - :(

  • Nicely does it!!!! Beautiful!!

  • very very goood ;)

  • good shit bro. but what rec. software do u use? and how do u get it to sound so damn clear!?! i have this mic, but im still just tryna figure it out...

  • @IceOfficialTV I usually use Pro Tools or Logic. It honestly doesn't matter what program your running, for this one i just used garageband :)

  • @TheFlashbackAudio and u just record it as is? no effects or special settings for clarity?

  • @IceOfficialTV A little reverb is all I added to the vocal track.

  • You can hear perfectly fine that there is no autotune used in this. Awesome cover you made mate :)

  • @Niuke Thanks :D

  • very very good

  • the recorded guitar with the microphone too ?

  • @daboulkioutaw Yeah, the whole thing was done using the Rode

  • Nice cover bro. What are you running the nt1a into?

  • @803ClarkKent I believe i used the M-Audio fast track pro

  • @TheFlashbackAudio exact same setup as me haha :)

  • Awesome!

  • Could use without autotune, the tonality is there though definitely.

  • @dangerale There is no autotune on this man... i never use that. I hate anything autotune. Just reverb is all. where did you think you heard it in this track?

  • cover my girl by temptations

  • One of the best covers for Red Hot Chili Peppers I have ever heard, nice job. Keep it up! :D
