@bregolingo The cowbell is a recorded track (probably synth-based), which is used as a metric reference (usually on the downbeat) so the drummer doesn't get lost.
It's good to see real musicians actually trying these days! I work in Dueling Pianos, and the deluge of absolute crap I have to learn for work is staggering. It seems like all anyone wants to do anymore is rip of "Don't Stop Believing" with a 1-5-6-4 progression, so seeing a true musician dominating at his craft is really refreshing. Bravo Mike. Oh yeah, and the song is rad too! :)
