I'm not sure if i've got the right show, but back when I was a kid (Mid 90's) there was a stop-mo show and it had a trapdoor, and a blue guy, and they'd always go into the trapdoor and see the monsters and shit... what was it?

I'm a bit confused, this is the first time I've actually seen any of the humans who own the house. In other episodes it seems as if the house has been abandoned. Especially since most of the episodes take place at night and you never see the bed being slept in. Plus, the humans don't seem to complain about anything 'missing'.
