In those days, Matt, sponsors WERE more subtle with their sponsorship of TV series, and the placement of their products during the show (some did, others didn't). These days, more than one sponsor supports a regular TV series, and some advertisers feel they have to be more "aggressive" in their marketing campaign if they expect their product(s) to "stand out"...especially if they directly associate themselves with one series.
This is a partial opening title and commercial from 1961, during the period (1961-'64) when Coca-Cola co-sponsored "THE ADVENTURES OF OZZIE & HARRIET"- and, of course, Ozzie and his family always accomodated their sponsors whenever possible, including appearing in "integrated commercials" for Coke, and featuring their bottles in the title and the background during most episodes...
@fromthesidelines Yep....."Ozzie and Harriet"'s form of product placement was a lot more subtle than some recent shows where I live (Australia), though.
Actually, I drink Pepsi.
