  • This is the first time I've seen the actual wreck up close. If I'm not mistaken, they deemed it an actual gravesite to where no bodies were to be tampered with or going inside the wreck itself, that is divers themselves. I guess it's out of respect for the crew members and families. Very understandable.

  • cool i wish i could see the fitzgerald

  • lol, who'd have thought that everybody would be kung fu fighting over this old ancient boat story.

  • This is in 500 feet of water. Natures fury.

  • i thiink they salvage the ship

  • @crystalscan2002

The ship is a grave site. They can't salvage it. Even if everyone survived, they wouldn't be able to salvage it. It's embedded into the ground, and it's under 500 ft of water. It's impossible.

  • i still see the wipers lol

  • sorry, but i dont find any of this "chilling".

  • If you spent any time sailing the Lakes you would.

  • @galvenizedsteel

that's okay. nobody gives a "shit."

  • @murdochmikey when someone else posts a comment calling it "chilling" then yes, someone DOES give a "shit" ya ignorant cockfuck.

  • @galvenizedsteel

Ahh swearing. As if you couldn't be more ignorant.

  • @DevynYoshi How are you to know wether or not I possess a doctorate degree? I could be a scientist, a doctor.... or one of our service men (or woman) for all you know. Only a pretentious fucktard would consider swearing ignorant. Get a clue fuckass.

  • There's a ghost in the left window in the first 25 seconds

  • I saw it, too. You see it, then when the camera shifts, it's gone. The apparition is also slightly transparent, and probably a residual haunt.

  • no thats a fish

  • @lexlaw007 It's light glare

  • I would have to believe that that wheelhouse was full when this happened. Im sure that the mates were all present, the wheelman and the captain too. I mean its a cold ass feeling on one of these ships in a storm, and the memory of the Fitzgerald is the reason why... God damn.

  • As an officer on a ship thats older than the Fitz on the Great Lakes... this is seriously bone chilling stuff. Good god those poor guys... It must.... MUST have been a violent end.

  • The way that Roof is hit and wrinkled you would think that at some piotn somthing had to of hit it !

Fine vessel sad to see it in this state !

    AMX

  • How deep is it?

  • 530 Feet (160 Meters).

  • This is really haunting seeing the Edmund Fitzgerald this way.

  • It just chills the blood.

  • Pretty creepy seeing the name "Edmund" appear at 2:02 isnt it? Great footage.

  • Same for me. Really exciting stuff, being a ship buff. And very important that we get this footage out to the public.

  • Thank you for posting this, looking forward to additional

    footage!
