The dq is there for safety. So be smart with the Achilles lock make sure they can't roll out and you can finish. Otherwise do Jiu Jitsu and not Sambo leg crazy

You guys need to learn the rules before you comment on the video... he didn't get DQ'ed because of an ankle lock... he got DQ'ed because he reaped the knee. Under ibjjf rules you can't pass that outside foot over the hip. Your foot has to stop at the hip. The guy who got DQ'ed clearly passed his foot past the hip, which is reaping.

hi bjjchamp, can you show me a copy of the rules you have, the ones i have don't say ankle locks are illegal in the adult divisions, there was no warning involved at anytime during the match,as far as the pan ams calling a DQ very fast the ref never showed any signs or warning of a DQ.
