Hello. Mr. Park's system is a hybrid conglomeration of tae kwon do, kumdo, and various copied movements from Youtube videos. He and his system are in no way associated with the Bujinkan. Those Bujinkan members that are aware of him view him and his system as comical at best and purposely insulting to the art at worst. Thanks for the time. Don't mean to come across ill-willed, however Mr. Park is notorious for lying and making up history.
the only thing that i noticed is you said that backing away was "closing the gap"did you mean you were gaining distance, closing the gap refers to you coming in on an attacker an example for that would be after you deflect the stab you could use the farmers block as a backfist strike or an eye jab. aside from that your video was good if i may add another tip while mr. chosun is absolutly correct about wider stance having better balance i have found that wide stances lack mobility thats just me
I meant making the gap between my legs smaller to a shoulder width. Now I understand that a wider stance with my legs and dropping my body a little more will make me more stable. By all means, I didn't mean closing the gap between me and the assailant. With or without my gun, that is a bad idea :)
@aznricecannon ohh. if i may ask why is it a bad idea im not saying your wrong im just curious about your reason,i come from a japanese jujitsu background and i have trained in jeet kune do, wing chun ect i like getting in close to attack when you are in close u take away the persons power hits plus you can gain control of the hands and stick to them you can trap the weapon hand, disarm them possibilities are endless i agree if you have a gun back up but if not i would deflect and attack
I'm no expert in martial arts, quite honestly, I'm a beginner with a small background in boxing and escrima. but from what I've learned from the police department is to get some space from a knife wielder. look up 'navy seal deadliest warrior knife'. That's what I've seen and expect. What I think I should do when facing that is to create room preferably with door-smashing kick to at least prepare. I don't have that kind of reaction to do it immediately.
@aznricecannon your point is valid and does make sense i hope you continue to train and improve i notice you mentioned escrima if you ever learnt the hubud drills or any kind of thier flow drills you can practice those with out sticks to improve your reaction speed chi sao from wing chun can also help. keep on training and you will do great good luck
i like your video, with a wider and lower stance it would make it harder for your opponent to take you down or knock you off balance, keep practicing :)

The stance explanation was excellent, I would advise that you take a lower and wider stance.
The more you ground yourself, the better balance you have. Thank you for your demonstration.
