the elementals take out ur max mana, so if u have 100 mana, and each one takes 15 away from the max, you can only have 6. Each level of the skill lets you summon 1 more of the elemental. For bigger things like carnagors, witch doctors, warpers, and reapers, you can only have one. With the exception of the reaper, each of the bigger summons has two skills. Carnagor is melee/tank, witchdoctor is a healer, and warper is like a mage.

You can have as many elementals as you need, as long as you dont run out of base mana.

My own question: Can people still play this game? Is the online component still workable?

Every leveling adding a Fire Elemental lvl allows you to summon another one

just started playing Hellgate London, got a lvl 10 summoner which can summon a 8 foot tall Carnagor, fire elementals and spectral elementals, just can't wait to summon one of those Reapers!!!

i can only recommend getting a summoner :) im a level 31 summoner myself in the retail its great :D summon a reaper and watch him kill everything with a stroke of his scythe. he "harvest" them :)

Why make JUST a summoner? You can make three characters.

exactly, that means 3 im not making, probally evoker blademaster and a gaurdian. My favourites after playing them were the Marksman Engineer and Summoner

Engineer is the same as the summoner but with weapons instead of beasts. Blademasters are good for (commonly used phrase alert!!!) massive damage.

Engineer has a lot of skills that lets him get more out of a smaller variety of "pets" while the Summoner has less support options but more pets to choose from. Six one way, half a dozen the other.
