there is no big difference in cw16 and cw26 , only 180 gb more in cw 26 and core i5 , i have cw16 and believe me i love it , i play so have games on it , like street fighter 4 and gta 4 and others , there is no difference in cw26 core i5 and cw 16 core 2 duo , coz cw 16 also has a speed of 2.53ghz in core 2 duo and is also very fast and faster than even sony cw core i3 series, yet you should be happy it also has a 512mb dedicated nividia , so be happy with your laptop, looks are same too.& func.

I recommend you wait as long as possible though. A year is like a century in the laptop world. You'll be finding better laptops for a cheaper price.

@TheLuckAndLove I don't know if you can play any PC game in a Apple product, I know Imac can run Windows... but you will have two OS and a game running... I think it would get laggy at some point.

If you have money, the Z series is the best from Vaio, but give a look at Dell notebooks, you can customize yours there.

The webcam is very average. But then again, you can buy a separate webcam... They're not expensive.

When it's on a hard surface the fan hardly ever cuts on. Even when the fan turns on it's still quiet. On a full charge I can play world of warcraft for about two hours. When it's set on power saver it will go for about four hours on a charge.

I bought this computer a few day's ago. I love it. Light and small but has enough power to play wow on the highest settings. Play's HD videos very well. Uses about 30% of the cpu to play them. It's great! The best thing is that it doesn't get hot on your lap. I was very surprised how cool it was compared to my old laptop. Very quiet as well.

@tvoice1 it's great! Not one problem. Windows 7 is far better than Vista. My computer has not once frozen or been non-responsive. I love it!! Sony has made a great product. Still very quite and cool on the lap. It rates a 5.2 on the Windows Experience Index. Which is great for a thin light notebook.

U can't really say if the Sony or the mac is better. They are bothe ment for different purposes It depends of what u want your laptop to do. For gaming I would recomend the Sony but what u should do is talk to an expert in the apple industry and in the Sony industry

Eitherway, you are correct that the CW only has the 512MB version. However, the CW has actual RAM in it that is based on DDR3, unlike any other Vaio in its pricerange.

You could get the FW for example with 1GB VRAM, but the actual RAM for FW is run on DDR2 afaik.

Talking about actual RAM. DDR3 is used in both VRAM for the FW and the CW.

It seems there's no official review about this laptop yet. In particular, I would like to see how gaming is on this laptop. Display is in widescreen so I'm not sure how late-released games like mw2 and cod4 look like on this laptop. It would be great to see the performance of 230m graphics card. You are not able to set them to the highest settings or are you not able to play the game fluently on highest settings?

Because if you can't set them to highest settings, then I'd say that's a problem with the game itself. If you are able to, but the game doesn't play fluently on highest settings, then yes - the card is not powerful enough for those settings.

yeah, at a decent fps. Too bad in the UK they have an option of a gt 330m graphics card with 512mb dedicated memory in their CW. Thats the same graphics card in the Z series, except the Z has 1gb of dedicated video memory.

If you want to stream video and audio to a HDTV easily then you can't go wrong with the VAIO CW. Unfortunately none of the Apple notebooks on the market have an HDMI output. Either way you are getting a great notebook but with the VAIO you get the best of both worlds, great performance and versatility, and really great style and portability with great battery life.
