I don't think its distorted, it sounds to me like they're side-chaining the kick to duck the stereo out...it gives the impression of the kick swamping everything if its used too aggressively, but gives a track plenty of welly by letting the kick boost through the track.

Again you talk about compression vs. high quality, just showing you don't know what you are talking about. I am not complaining about lack of quality, as from compression. I said the audio is CLIPPED.

You should already know what clipped means, since you boast about being a recording engineer, but you better google it anyway. Your employer is getting ripped off.
