@studio13production In the books, as I recall, Seamus Finnigan was the guy who blew the bridge up. And it was kind of funny cause he was the kid in the first couple books / movies who had his spells explode and turn his face black. He's in this scene too, far right in the shot with Ginny just after Death Eaters fall down off the bridge.

but there is a deleted scene where it shows seamus setting pieces of dynamyte on the bridge, and mcgonnical says earlier in the movie "why don't you confirm with mr. finnagan, as i recall he has a proclivity for pyrotechnics" and he says "i can bring it down."

From the frightened little first year who tried to stop his friends getting into trouble, to the awkward teenager who was the butt of everyone's jokes who turned into the fifteen year old who vowed vengence on the woman who tortured his parents to the and the seventeen year old badass who led a year long rebellion against the death eaters who had taken over his school. JK Rowling uses Neville to show that everyone has courage inside of them; some just find theirs sooner than others.

He actually just hangs on to whats left of the bridge the heaves himself up... In the theater I was watching this scene and in the first part of the scene, he's walking toward them, id start to run prior to this scene. And last part of the scene, people are just standing there watching neville cling to the bridge, I probably would help him..!!! And in the book they don't even have this scene and many others.

It's not in the book, but in the movie, Professor McGonigal gives Seamus and Neville permission to blow things up as, she says, Seamus is very good at pyrotechnics. They set charges all along the struts and when Neville is booting it back to the castle, he uses his wand to set off the charges..Bye-bye bad guys..
