For me, it's not the question of genres. It comes down to lyrics and maturity for me. I think Taylor and Michelle are both established vocalists (and I like them both) and guitarists, but Taylor's lyrics/music appeal to a younger market, while Michelle's music explores a young woman maturing into adulthood. her music is decidedly older, raw and almost blunt. They both have talent, the question is what do *they* want to say with their music.

@xxradiance To this I would say Michelle is the original Taylor. I think Michelle has better range and amazing timing with her vocals that many singers cant compete with. Taylor's music is rather simpler both musically and lyrically but I still give her credit and she's talented. But, Michelle FTW!

Um, you can ask anyone how many boyfriend's they have. That question makes no sense. It's not like taylor writes one song for each guy. It's possible she writes more than one for the same guy. Michelle and taylor are both amazing artists, but since Taylor is a country singer you can't compare her and Michelle. Two different genres of music, two completely different people.

actually, guess what? this song was supposed to be the third single of her album HP, however I guess there were some disputes and it randomly became "till I get over you" song and no video was made for that song plus limited promotion. it failed to chart. Well, I think Branch is better, she is a proper singer/songwriter, Swift doesnt write her own stuff that much and cant play guitar. I THINK lyrics are about like, a Monday night out, and MB is saying she doesnt want to be driven home since she "doesnt want to be alone" and hence Tuesday morning albeit in the dark :D

Ya you're right, she wrote 7/13 songs on her album and "co-wrote" the rest. Branch writes 95% of her stuff and co-writes the other 5%. Im not trying to make a point as such, but Branch is a better gutiar player live, Swift is kinda noob. Not crap, but noob :P And I liked Branch's lyrics way more, Swift's ones all sound the same. But I think that's because she's 19 (4 days older than me!) and Branch has more to draw on :)
