OK, so I check out a video of the reformed lineup of Alan White's band, "White," from 2005 and he's blazing through Tempis Fugit like it was 1980 all over again. Big smile on his face, beating the crap out of those drums at top speed. Flash forward to 2011 and now he's dragging and dropping the beat like an amateur. This particular video isn't as bad, but I've seen plenty over the last couple of years where Alan looks as if he's about to have a coronary. What gives?
Okay. Fair enough. The problem with the written word is that sometimes you can't hear the reflections of a voice. I see that Jon has done some solo touring. However, I had read he also had some very serious respiratory issues. Anyw ord on whether he plans to get back with 'Yes' and vice versa?
So many good musicians can't stay focused, show up on time, stay straight etc. David Benoit isn't jon anderson, but he does all the above, and would probably sound as good as jon anderson trying to do david's original music. i loved the show.
benoit just isn't yes material he kind of sounds like maestro anderson but that's where the similarity ends jon anderson has an ethereal aura that is lost in benoit's un-natural movements on stage personally i think his voice is o.k. at best b u t he definitely isn't anywhere near performing with the great "yes" i bet he thanked his lucky stars he was at the right place at the right time. after yes is done with him he'll be a has been that never was. period, end of story.
@mike28890 No need to be nasty about it. For whatever reason, Jon isn't with the band at this time and they got a replacement. If you don't like him, fine. But relax. It's a band.
@stevedrums you obviously did not get my point, although he is talented, benoit does not add to the band, he is merely trying to keep up i understand that he's doing his best b u t really, ask 100 people who are true yes fanatics, as i am, who they would prefer seeing yes in concert with, anderson or benoit.....the choice is obvious it's not that i don't like him, i admit he is talented, i just don't like him with yes
I like this video. You get a chance to see Chris play some great bass up close. This seems like a song that would be real easy to screw up live (like Heart of the Sunrise) but I saw them 3 times this past year and it was always flawless.
tempus fugit--more like tempo forgotten xD

Am I the only person who thinks Benoit looks like he should be fronting a Monkees tribute band?!

Steve reminds me more of Gollum from Lord Of The Rings. I keep expecting to shriek "MY PRECIOUSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!"

@Kohntarkosz yea either that or he should be standing about 30 feet in front of them, faced the other way, and drinking a beer

Too bad the rest of the shows were canceled on account of Chris Squire's leg injury. Hopefully, the shows will be on DVD soon
