1st and 1, Obama takes the snap. Hands off to Reid. Reid slams into Coburn. Reid fumbles into the end zone. Picked up by McCain. McCain dodges Franken. Nice block by McConnell. McCain is running it back. He's at the 30, the 20, the 10, touchdown John McCain! The crowd goes wild. Steele as been doused in Gatorade. Hold on. Kaine as thrown the red challenge flag. This is going up to the booth for an instant replay. It seems Reid might of had a knee down before the fumble.
We are on the 1 yard line - pinned against our own end zone, not about to score. The insurance lobby has demonized any real reform with talking points about death panels and socialized medicine and nazism. Helping poor people get health care is somehow an evil thing if it cuts the multi-billion dollar profits out for the insurance companies.
Senate Democrats and blue dogs have sold out their constituency for campaign contributions. Republicans are just helping push the wagon off the cliff
i thought the administration was playing chess. turns out it was not only not playing checkers, they were large dumb football players. the insurance companies were playing chess.. and they won
Andy, here's my take on this healthcare thing. The public option wasn't going to be an option anyways, only a few were going to be elegible for it, only 4% could join it, and it was more expensive. With the current math in the Senate if they can pass something that guarantees coverage to 90%+ of people, with the 8% gross income vs subsidies provisions, end to rejection based on pre-existing conditions, there was no other way to move this thing forward We're all disappointed but is a start.
Did you think that Obama would nationalize the insurance industry? Even if he had wanted to, it would be impossible to do without completely disrupting the entire system. The reality is that the final bill will put us on a gradual PATH toward universal coverage, period. And don't forget, there's still a trigger if costs don't come down! The Congress can simply pass a separate law enacting a Medicare buy-in for every American.
the puppet master speaks and he speak lies - fake weak phoney - no public option- fake phoney bill - this Axl guy is a fraud and has to much power over Obama.

I would say they are on the 10. Because the conference is going to be tougher than what either chamber had to get done.

Trillions of dollars going to the insurance companies and the common American once again gets fucked in the ass by our elected officials.

@biggesttrucker
Do you even know what the word "metaphor" means?
Here's an example you should understand:
Be careful not to keep your trailer on the side of a hill.

Perhaps Patriot insted of Protection? Gotta have something to sell the public-they'll never go for a title like that.
