I think that the ps1 and n64 have trade offs. N64 had better gameplay graphics, and had better 3d controls, but the ps1 had better cutscene graphics and since it used a cd instead of a cartridge it could hold more memory.

The Star Fox 64 game came in two editions: the Rumble Pack one and the normal retail one.

I believe the one with the rumble pack was a bit more expensive. I got the one with the rumble pack because the idea of feeling the action on screen was amazing to me as a kid.

To say that Nintendo is much better than ps3 or xbox360 its just ignorant. I loved my N64 like crazy specially shadows of the empire. My bro got me a ps1 for xmas and I was really upset because I wanted another n64 or snes game. All my fanboy ego was blown away when I got my hands on FF7. Those cinematic scenes (WHICH THE N64 DID NOT HAVE) made the game truly special. I'm not saying that nintendo sucks but in order to truly be a gamer you have to experience all consoles to make a point.

yeah but imho nintendos gameplay engines have so much more replayability than 99% of third party engines so i never even want more games.

if i DID get bored with them, almost all the 3rd party games are just more FPS and RPG engines (except for Rockstar games & they publish on pc/mac)... Why bother with a console when all the best FPS and RPG games are all on computers & most third party & microsoft games are too?

one nice gaming computer is $1000-ish, one xbox/Ps3 + one crappy computer costs $1200ish... ad like $50 to that and you could just get a Wii for party games for when friends are over and still have a nice gaming computer with better graphics, more in depth worlds, better control because mouse periphrials are best for FPS & RPGs both (aiming/menus) and a better online community network than a console plus titles that don't even come out on console, not to mention mods, emulators, etc etc..

Nintendo has continuously been the leading in innovations in gaming. They were first to come out with the rumble pack, 4-player gaming and now motion sensitive controllers. What innovative features have Sony put out, and don't say "plays cd's and movies" because those were available already and PS just tacked them on. Also don't say "ps3 has a web browser" because xbox had that way before ps3.

Well you put out enough innovations and some are going to manage to hit instead of miss. I guarantee you Nintendo's misses outweigh their hits though. Virtua boy,ROB,and Power glove are just to name a few. On top of that Nintendo manages to rehash the same game 26 times a decade. Yeah, i guess you're right. Nintendo is more popular because they have zelda, mario and metroid and a lot of gamers grew up with them. Playstation sold more because they used CDs which could store more information. Nintendo had cartridges which was so 1980. Because CDs were cheaper to make many game companies choose that over cartridges like squareand konami. There were a lot of good games on 64. Many people today own a playstation 2.

You're right. One of my favorite games of all time is on nintendo 64 and gamecube like goldeneye, perfect dark, smash bros and the sequel. Games on the playstation and xbox are more about realism and nintendo are about fun which i prefer.

i don't even know if i would say the non nintendo games are even about realism. they might be more realistic, but they still have aliens and robots & dragons and whatever, and you still walk around really fast, jump really high, shoot lasers, recover from near death by just Touching a first aid kit. i think Call of Duty & the more serious war & anti-terrorism games are the only games that are "about" realism, other than that it's just comparing ghost in the shell to dragonball z

To me Nintendo games are the only games worth playing at all. I don't bother with video games anymore but the DS is looking pretty interesting now that the DS-10 cartridge is going to get a US release. I'd rather play Smash Bros than anything on XBox or PS3.
