I have no stats about the Chinese population because differing political opinions in China are illegal, and thus impossible to record. Therefore, you have absolutely no idea when you're talking on behalf of 1.5 billion people whom you don't even know. Nobody forced them to stay? China, DPRK, Soviet Union etc. all had exit visa policies, meaning if you want to travel, you have to apply for a travel permit. So yes, the government did force them to stay, and forced them to shut up. China has lifted a lot of these restrictive policies int he last few years, but Chinese people are still not allowed to think freely and most of the internet is still censored in China.

Russians never voted for Stalin. Chinese never voted for Hu Jintao. North Koreans NEVER voted for Kim Jong Il. Deng was the leader of the CCP. After Mao's death, China realized it had to open its economy, and move towards capitalism. Deng was the front figure in these reforms, and his death in 1997 cause the greatest public display of grievance in China since the death of Mao. Who gives a damn about Deng? Deng is the father of today's Chinese economic prosperity, and largely credited with China's economic boom and move towards capitalism.

Without Profit incentive, both industrial and agricultural output dropped drastically with Mao acknowledging the failure of the plan with a resignation of the position of President of the PRC but keeping the Chairman postion in the CCP. Collectives were discontinued and private farming was once again resumed.

Nobody forced them to stay? China, DPRK, Soviet Union etc. all had exit visa policies, meaning if you want to travel, you have to apply for a travel permit. So yes, the government did force them to stay, and forced them to shut up. China has lifted a lot of these restrictive policies int he last few years, but Chinese people are still not allowed to think freely and most of the internet is still censored in China.

Russians never voted for Stalin. Chinese never voted for Hu Jintao. North Koreans NEVER voted for Kim Jong Il. I never voted for Bush, his policies were horrible, but at least he was elected through a democratic process. The DPRK is NOT prospering. The DPRK itself admits 220,000 people starved to death in the last decade. Prosperous people don't starve to death. NGO statistics have that starvation number at close to 2 million, 10% of North Korea's population. This is by DPRK's own statistics.

As for Kim Jong Il, it IS his fault. The entire blame for the famine in North Korea can be credited to Kim Il Sung, Kim Jong Il and the Juche philosophy. Countless aid organizations such as the World Food Programme, CARE, Amnesty, Red Cross desperately TRIED to help, but the DPRK wouldn't grant them access to the North Korean countryside. Do you know who feeds North Korea today? It's Japan, the USA and South Korea. Kim Jong Il acknowledged this when he was interviewed by a South Korean reporter.

The DPRK calls itself the "Democratic People's Republic of Korea", yet there are no such thing as democratic elections there. The United States calls itself the liberator of Iraq, yet that turns out slightly.. Untrue. Russia even calls itself a free democracy. The fact that China has a red flag, and the party calls itself CCP means nothing. China today is a capitalist dictatorship.

Hint: Soviet Union, DPRK, Khmer Rouge, Vietnam, Cuba, PRC during Mao, Belarus, Romania under Ceauşescu to name a few. As for the DPRK not being in the past, this is a country locked in the 50s still. Locked in a time when death camps for "enemies of the people" were considered ideologically acceptable to many. There is undeniable proof of funky shit going on in the DPRK. As for Pol Pot, denying the Cambodian genocide is straight up ignorant, disrespectful and disgusting. Pol Pot himself admitted before he died (on widely available tapes) the crimes he and Khmer Rouge committed, and he even apologized.

I'm not a capitalist, I believe in some market regulation. I think it's good that the USDA certifies the meat I eat. I'm glad the FTC calls back cars with faulty breaks. I respect marxists. Note: marxists, not fascists. The fascist regimes of the Khmer Rouge, DPRK, Soviet Union, Mao etc. killed 33% of Cambodia's population, tens of millions of people in the cultural revolution, tens of millions were sent to Soviet Gulag concentration camps, and the situation in DPRK is just unacceptable.

I have personally volunteered and worked with resettled North Korean refugees. I respect marxism and marxists. I don't agree with it, but I respect it. The "communist" regime in the DPRK is a Nazi hellhole. I can ASSURE you that the burns on these people's bodies, lost fingers, scars, stumped growth, malnutrition, diseases and mental illnesses due to inhumane treatment is NOT self-inflicted in order to make the DPRK look bad. If the DPRK is not suffering, why does the North Korean gov't itself admit to at least 220,000 deaths from starvation? Why does China and the CCP admit to 250,000 North Korean living illegally in China, fleeing for their lives? Why do 13,000 North Koreans now live in South Korea? Koreans support communism like it's their ethnicity? Korea is split in half, 2/3 of all Koreans are South Koreans. South Korea is a first world country where no one has starved. North Korea itself publicly admits to at least 220,000 people starving to death in the last decade. There are 250,000 North Korean refugees in China, desperately trying to get OUT of China so they won't be sent back to North Korea. There are 13,000 North Korean refygees currently living in South Korea.

But communism is PURELY an economic ideology. Meaning if you transform your economy into a free-market economy (capitalist), that makes your country capitalist. It would be like me saying I'm Muslim, but I believe in the Christian God, and Jesus because I prosper better from it. If you take central planning out of communism, there is no communism, just life if you take God out of Islam, Christianity, Hinduism etc, there is no religion.

Face it, the US is the reason for the demise of Imperial Japan. The power of the Japanese Empire, and it's largest extent, was during the first years of the War in the Pacific. It was not until the Battle of Midway that the Japanese Empire started going down the drain.

The Mongols, Turks etc. were far far far before Karl Marx had even defined a term such as communism. China at that time was nowhere close to communism, closest it was was a monarchy. As for Mao, yes, he did fight the Japanese, but so did Chiang Kai Shek. and Japan was overrunning Asia and the Pacific with little problems until the United States got involved in the war.

The only reason Japan lost in Word War 2 was because they attacked Pearl Harbor and got into a war with the United States. Who sent volunteer pilots, planes and armament to China in the 1930s? The US did. Japan failed in China because they overextended (yes there were communist rebels in China, but there were also millions of Chiang Kai Shek supporters fighting the Japanese).

China has implemented capitalist policies which are far more free-market friendly than even the United States has. China has free trade zones, the US does not. US business regulation is even stricter than Chinese regulation is. As for Russia, communism is not illegal. The Russian communist party, КПРФ, has seats in parliament, and is the second largest party in Russia.. Yet by far not the largest.

I can agree on that. I never fully trusted Russian elections (nor American elections), but would the communists win a 100% free election in Russia? I doubt it. Why? Because the only former Soviet republic or even satellite to ever elect a communist into power since 1991 was Moldova.
