    Product Description

    Corvete ZR1

The Corvette Story: Over five decades ago, a dream car captured the American heart and would not let go. It was called the Corvette. From day one, Corvette had represented the best of American sports car ever created. Since then, over five decades now, every American and every person dreamed of the Corvette brand. The Corvette ...

  • @lattatmao0p

The best of american sportscars... Wow... with ONLY the Corvette, the list is kinda short. Copy paste from GMs own webpages ?

  • @Janusha need I remind you that the CTS-V wipes its ass on the m5?

  • 79 people drive a prius

  • The CORVETTE ZR1 IS THE BEST OF THE WORLD

  • i now im only 14 but GOD DAWM THAT ZR1 IS BEAUTIFULL

  • to a few commenters on here 1. nobody in the video clamied that GM invented traction control, shut it. 2. the tires used at nuburgring were option tires. it says right on the GM website that they are. shut it again... 3. just because that car had a rollcage doesn't mean anything. a rollcage doesn't make a car faster, it makes it safer. it's not a performance inhancement! moot point you guys make! so again, shut it!

  • @mrhazel

Anyone that has done ANY bit of racing will tell you that when you turn a normal car into a racecar, the largest single change is to install a full rollcage that greatly increases a cars trackabilities. The way these jokers are presenting it is as if they were forced to run with a bunch of scrap metal in the back weighing the car down. This is bullshit from one end to the other regardless of GMs own god damn claims. Or perhaps the Sparco Evo2 racing interior is justified too. Bullshit.

  • @Janusha an interior doesn't help that much and neither does a rollcage. not THAT much to make the car that much faster. yes, it's stabilizes the car but this particular sports car does not need that much stabilizing. more power, a better suspension and brakes to slow it all down would be a much better attributes to a quicker car, with a roll cage all working together as one. no one component can make a car much faster without affecting the other. I'm just saying you know.

  • @mrhazel

Im not going to argue how much their modifications to the Corvette did on the god damn Ring. They CLAIM showroom stock, and they are proven not to be. I got pictures taken in high res where you can read the brand name of their race interior and see the rollcage. Now... a full roll cage requires a rebuild of the entire car. Plenty of opportunity to modify it further. These are bullshit claims and anyone defying evidence are just making themselves look silly.

  • Woooow... Americans invented traction control after every other company in the world has been using it for years. Amazing. But ofcourse they have to call it something else because THEIR system is obviously "special"

  • I'm sure someone has gotten killed in this already

  • America knows how to make REAL cars, not those electronic gimmicks that Japanese and European cars are.

  • @Shockwawe1994. GM did make a "family" car if that's what you want. The Cadillac CTS-V. That car is sick. The worlds fastest production 4 door. Faster around the Nurburgring Nordschleife than a BMW M5 or a Mercedes Benz E63.

I'd love one, and this is coming from a BMW 1M owner.

  • @ shockwawe1994 if you knew anything about racing you would know plastic is the perfect material for this car no sense in having a heavy race car. @silentsmokey i defenetly agree!!!!

  • now take all this.....and put it in a truck!!

  • Its so funny to see on all these corvette videos that one of the top comments is some european saying how nice corvettes are compared to others.

  • what were the guys in chevrolet factory thinking...making the whole body of the car of plastic...it would work on a normal family car or smart but not on a racing car xD that shows how behind americans are in building cars...want a good car? buy a european car

  • @Shockwawe1994 Corvette ZR1 7:19 on the Nurburgring. Nuff said child.

  • @Shockwawe1994 again fiberglass is not made of plastic. Its fiberglass which is made the same way as carbon fiber, difference being carbon fiber is very strong and can be used structurally whereas fiberglass is less strong but lightweight and perfect for body panels.

  • @LittleStallin well then its a really weak fiberglass...if u see a corvette go to it and touch the bumper and u will see..it budges really bad with a slight pressure...a car badly made

  • inside line must have an asian test driver or something i mean this car has done 0-60 in 3.4sec in most other vids i mean jeese motor trend matched this 0-60 in the boss 302

  • @kirk0respite an asian guy is bangin your girl!

  • driver mod needed!

  • chevy needs to make this MONSTER AWD!!!!

  • 4.0? not even close....

  • definitely could of got better times then that....

  • I don't like their attempts at the 0-60 and 1/4 mile, I think they could have gotten better times if they would have done a soft launch instead of spinning the tires like a full second and what not. -_-

  • @iTzOJ They were testing out the launch control to see what it would do. That's why the times are slower as well.

  • Why does every car site hate on American cars!!!

  • 11.7 from a ZR1...ya'll drive like bitches

  • 4.0 0-60 my ass I could do it faster and I dont even own a car.

  • zr1 0 - 60 3.3 sec , top speed 335 kph , 1/4 10.7 , skidpad 1.1

  • Dear Insideline:

Please Fire the moron testing the cars performance capabilities in terms of 0-60 and 1/4 mile. You guys are WAY off on EVERY dam car review I have seen. Seriously.. why can't you guys get a decent driver?? Every other car reviewer are reporting 0-60 at 3.3s and the 1/4 is done in like 11.2s... 11.7?? Come on, who was driving? Ray Charles?

  • @JMAHER1523 You need to take into consideration that there are plenty of factors and if you actually look on the Edmunds website you'll see what I'm talking about. Elevation, surface, air temperature, condition of the tires (May have been ragged on by a previous journalist) and the fact that the official times provided by the manufacturer are sometimes a bit optimistic. The same exact car tested in Death Valley will perform different than if tested on the East coast.

  • @JMAHER1523 Besides can you even feel a few tenths of a second? In many cases these cars won't be track raced 100% of the time.

  • @7477238 even on the street, the difference between tenths of a second are very feelable. .3.7 into 3.3 is about 10% improvement. You wont ever feel tenths in a mini van etc. But speaking from my experience in my g8 gxp I could def feel the improvement from 4.8 to 4.5 after a couple small mods

  • @JMAHER1523 I was thinking the same thing.

  • @JMAHER1523 these guys use 91 octane and no vht or any track added stickiness. The weather for the day also affects performance slighlty. I believe their numbers are legit.

  • @JMAHER1523 Maybe its just the dirty track...

  • @JMAHER1523 it said that time was without rollout. add roll out and you will shave some time off.

  • @JMAHER1523 same thing with the GTR, they said 0-60 of 3.1 .. when its 2.9-3.0 ..that 1 1/10th is A LOT

  • tire smoking hoolagins these days....smh...xD

  • niech ktoś przetłumaczy bo nieznam angielskiego czy to jest w gazie czy sama benzyna

  • @shadovar kretyn O_O

  • tire smoking hooligan over skilled driver

  • this car is a "must have" , hope in the near future they make a simi auto gear just like ferrari italia.

  • @hamdanae12 That transmission is so bad for a REAL sports car....nothing like a FULL manual.

  • Not too impressive...looks worse than the z06..

  • nice cars..so amazing

  • @MrRonJon1183 i love mustangs but the supersnakes are TERRIBLE at putting power down. maybe form a roll the snake would win. but from a dig no way in hell. but hopefuly the 2013 GT500 will put power down far better.

  • @MrRonJon1183 idk vette weighs less too, id bet it would be very close

  • America's Ferrari!

  • Can you guys make a race for me?

I want the latest Corvette ZR1 Vs the latest Shelby GT500 Super Snake.

  • @kk6downing Are you kidding? the ZR1 would absolutely smear the crap out of the Snake in a straight line, and in the curves it's pointless to compare them.

  • was always a vette fan,

    but i'd better get a 70's f400 firebird!

    greetz from germany;)

  • This is the most powerful!!!

    Chevrolet Rules!!!!!!

  • i would just love to drive one.

  • If you want to be a tire smoking ninja just turn off the PTM and just smoke the tires, just like the old muscle cars. Thats All American.... Yeah c'mon!!

  • Shut up and let the ZR1 talk. It's all about monster power and it's american. Drop the hammer and let it talk. Ask any European to ACT like a muscle car and SOUND like a muscle car and pay for the difference. SHUT UP!!!

  • No European car can stay with the american muscle of the ZR1 regardless of the time or MPH. It's all about the muscle in the muscle car and that is ALL american....

  • @jayfreshour Some European cars can beat it.

And when it comes to quality and resale value, they do beat it.

  • No matter how good this cracker bread is the GTR is better 0-60 less than 3 seconds compare to 4 seconds and even better on handling too

  • @kenjivideo Is that why the ZR1 beats the GTR around the Nurburgring? even the Z06 with less HP than the 545hp GTR beats it. Z06 7:22 ZR1 7:19 > GTR 7:24. Nuff said.

  • i'm european and of course i enjoy our cars, like porsche, audi, aston m, but i admit that from all american cars, this one (corvette) it is so original and quite fast though, having great performance for less money and beating some of our cars (yes including some of BMW's)

  • @StarChips28 ye ur right about that but think about the CO2 that that beast releases to the air or the taxes u must pay for that monster...besides u dont need that big engine just to drive to work and go back...think it logically...most american cars only concentrate on power(american muscle XD) just to show off...you dont need a huge jeep

to go for shopping and to work, why cant they just use a simple car and invest money on something more important.

  • @StarChips28 you're and idiot, what factory BMW is faster than ZR1..?

  • @schmiede777 he's saying the zr1 is faster...

  • @schmiede777 a 1000rr... lol

  • @schmiede777 around a race track? a bunch of them

  • @StarChips28 You mean All BMW`s, Audi, and Aston M?

  • fucking amazing, fuck your ford mustang, or dodge viper, aint nothing beating this chevy power!

  • HOW THE SHIT DO YOU COMPARE A ZR1 CORVETTE TO A BMW?!?!? ITS LIKE COMPARING A FIESTA TO A PORSCHE

  • @sicknastySVT The Bmw being the fiesta?

  • @Hellcow10 Yessir, two different cars for two different purposes. People trying to compare different types of vehicles makes my head hurt.

  • fucking shit american cars only engine b

  • @hassevonanka ZR1 7:19 on the Nurburgring...nuff said

  • I'd rather drive a BMW ;)

  • GIEF

  • lol even my truck has traction control

  • Hello fellow americans, this is called traction control!!! which almost all european cars have and you make a big deal to put it in that car has if it was the first in the world to have it? come on...

  • @SirEveryone it has 5 modes, a feature never seen in a European car before!!!

  • @PL3690 you cannot be serious...

  • @SirEveryone ofc i'm joking its ironic hahahah

  • @PL3690 all u need is one mode off

  • @SirEveryone *slowclap*

  • @SirEveryone Ummmm... yeah. My 2001 Z06 had traction control as well. Nothing in this video implied that traction control is a revolutionary innovation. But the 5 mode control in the new ZR1's is phenominal. This car literally kills virtually anything from Europe at a small fraction of the price.

  • @ManicMonkey84 its a small fraction of the price because its a small fraction of construction quality as well. Imagine...what would you do to a car that doesnt corner well? Insert a million traction control options of course. It problably kills most european cars in a straight line, I would like see you drive a lamborghini gallardo superlegera in the european mountains, forget corvettes

  • @SirEveryone Hmmm... Once again, you might want to check out this video (kHS-zLXURco) where the ZR1 just trimmed 6 seconds off the record at the Nurburgring test track in Germany. Then, if you're not too busy, go fuck yourself

  • @ManicMonkey84 whats the need to talk like that?

  • @SirEveryone ZR1 has a Nurburgring lap time of 7:19....nuff said

  • @07Z06ss well i rather have a yugo which is made of metal instead of corvette which is made entirely of plastic...

  • @Shockwawe1994 Entirely of plastic? Corvettes are made from fiberglass and at the end of the day the ZR1 is still ringing in a 7:19....

  • @07Z06ss i rather dont have a car at all then driving a corvette which is so poorly designed and at high speed accident its totaly smashed into pieces...and yea forgot to mention that this car is hella ugly...

  • @Shockwawe1994 Poorly designed? The Corvette out handles cars 3 times the price and has a 7:19 on the Nurburgring....please. High speed accidents it's smashed into pieces? Take a look at Lamborghinis, Ferraris, other sports cars when they crash the damage is identical if not worse to what would happen when a Corvette is in a high speed crash. You clearly need to learn what you're talking about before you speak.

  • @07Z06ss hmm have u ever heard of top gear? a man named jeremy clarkson said that the corvette is one the most horrible handling cars...and yeah its poorly designed try to touch the rear of the bumper..even with a gentle push it budges...+ it looks horrible...and stop with the nurburgring time 7:19.and u say the corvette beats every car on the norburgring...there are quite a lot of cars way faster than the plastic box with an engine which u call a corvette...

  • @Shockwawe1994 There are a few cars ahead of the Corvettes time on the Nurburgring which are the Gumpert (not street legal) Viper ACR ( Street legal) Radical R8 (non street legal) The ACR and ZR1 are the fastest street legal stock production cars on the Nurburgring AND THAT'S A FACT! Face it and stop crying because the Corvette destroys 90% of the competition.

  • @07Z06ss im just saying that americans cant build a proper car...like when americans made the world´s fastest car but few weeks later u were crushed by bugatti...and it doesent matter if its street legal.what matters is that every car can beat a corvette...and now just shut up u know that corvette is a fragile car with bad handling and looks ugly as fuck...and if corvette is such an awesome car as u say why do film actors, rappers have ferrari´s prosche´s and so on...cause corvette sux

  • @Shockwawe1994 Actors drive Bugattis, Ferraris and Lamborghinis for fashion statements, do you really think they actually "drive" them? You should really think of the things you say before you type them. Americans can't build a proper car yet we have cars on the Nurburgring with full interiors, radio, and air conditioning and the only Euro cars that can beat the Vette on the Nurburgring are the ones that are stripped down with no interiors or anything at all. Learn something, class dismissed.

  • @07Z06ss so if it a fashion statement still why doesent anyone drive a corvette? cause they are ashamed to drive such a piece of shit car that corvette is.and a non stripped out european cant beat a corvette? hh u joking right? a list goes on and on...there are way better cars on the market which are actually made of metal and not from melted toys...corvette is a garage car cause if u bring it to the road the poor handling and fragile body will kill u...and it looks disgusting.

  • @Shockwawe1994 You can't match the performance of a ZR1 especially on the Nurburgring, learn something.

  • @Shockwawe1994 he didn't say it handled horrible, he said it was difficult. But yeah I could see how your dumbass would get those confused.

  • cumshot

  • cheap car

  • This

  • Like

  • Evo

  • So, now you can drive the car with out having to Drive the car!

  • KORVETI

  • Good Video

  • Gotta love the driver selected option of cooking the rear meats.

  • is that the sc 606, but would be sweet if they made a zr1 with z51 suspension package!

  • Comment removed

  • nice car

  • The 67 dislikes are from blind/deaf people.........

  • @MrJMS814 if they are blind how would they even know where the dislike button is? *rolls eyes*

  • @MrJMS814 Then how did they click the dislike?

  • Now thats a proper car!!!

  • I think I had an orgasm at 2:52...

  • 1.1g 3.3 sec

  • LOL 4.0 shitty driver. ive heard of 3.3s

  • That car needs about six more inches of rubber on the rear contact patch just to harness all that power.

  • Exhaust sound ..... needs to be in my phone as a ringtone <3

  • @V12Carlucci The corvette is actually classified as a mid engine car. The engine is fully behind the front wheels making it a true mid engine. It's just front mid engine opposed to rear mid engine.

  • also i am ur girl

  • ese auto es un maquinon!!!! aguante el corvette zr1!!

  • is not a Road Test its DRIFT TEST !!!!!!!

  • These guys can't launch lol RoadAndTrack got the ZR1 to 60 in 3.5 and 11.5@128.7 on 1/4.

  • wow.

  • "tire-smoking hooligan"? Excuse me sir, but the correct term is "hoonigan". haha.

  • I thought the ZR1 could get to 60 in 3.3-3.4 sec. not 4 flat. idk though...

  • @XHikotheproX The 3.4 thats advertised is a best case scenario, thats how advertising works, they advertise what it can do at its best to make the car sound as good as possible. so unless you have been racing cars for a living since you were able to you probably wont get those kind of numbers.

  • @Gunforce6

Much like their claimed MPG, skidpads and Nurburgring lap times. There is what they claim and then there is reality.

  • @Janusha: Yeah, and thats why: At the start of the 2011 season, Corvette Racing has won 79 races, eight American Le Mans Series manufacturers and team championships, and seven drivers championships. Corvette Racing has enjoyed international success in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the world's biggest sports car race, with six class victories since 2001. They did all of that just because of "claimed" MPG, skidpad and faked Nurburgring lap times. Man you are pathetic.

  • @V8Supercar1

Christ... dont confuse race cars with roadcars. There are budgets and rules in racing put in place exactly to make cars even. Or the same god damn car would win every time. You know this as well as I do. Corvette factory backed race teams are cruical to their marketing whereas Aston Martin, Ferrari, Porsche atleast are often winning too altho run with privately funded teams. Audi won 10 out of 12 times I believe and there has NEVER been an american win at LeMans since the 60s.

  • Also when americans quote LeMans wins, they are focusing on the american mickey mouse LeMans. Not the real one which was named by the french village where it was traditionally held since the 20s. The american one is swarmed 10-1 in american teams... So what exactly is your point. Racing is irrelevant to road cars. If your Vipers and Corvettes are so spectacular and unique and dominating while being cheap... Why arent they international success stories.

  • @Janusha they are you idiot. the corvette won its class at the Le mans 24 hour race this year. In France.

  • @FGalaxie

    yes.... and ?

There are rules in racing... Put in place exactly to make cars equal. Or you would have the same winner every time. Likewise the roadgoing Corvette is FAR cheaper built than forexample a Porsche or Ferrari and its therefore no shock that its also less capable. However. On a race track the budgets are also equal while on a roadcar they differ alot. In other words.. Dont get roadcars confused with racecars even when that is the only positive angle to US cars at the moment.

  • @FGalaxie ooh big woop 1 win intense -_-

  • @TVRnGTR what the fuck are you talking about?

Mr glorified kit car and gook pack

  • @Janusha: lol I see you still know absolutely nothing about Corvettes. I guess you are not aware that GM uses their knowledge and experience that they gain on the race track and put into their production cars. You don't know that the same engine thats in the racing version of the Corvettes is the same ones thats in the production vehicle. Except for the racing ones is actually detuned. lol Now I don't know what Aston and Porsche does. But as for as racing. Not every company does the same things.

  • @V8Supercar1

I dont pretend to or claim to "know" about Corvettes. I dont talk about the car as much as I talk about the wild claims, ridiculous hype and bold lies that surround them.

So they put all their tech and knowhow into production cars do they ? When was the Corvette updated last. 6-7 years ago ? Dont bullshit me. Its cheap for a reason. And there is a reason for its low sales in america and why nobody outside america buys them. Surely even you can see that.

  • "Except for the racing ones is actually detuned"

Yeah... go on.. Believe the hype GM tells you. Because they wouldnt bullshit or tell silly stories would they.

Fact is - Every god damn engine has to fit the rulebook when its used for racing silly arse. Usually by restricting air intake to limit output and thus increase safety, to make cars equal, and to lower costs; insurance purposes have also factored in for motorsports. There are rules restricting race engines but not on the road.

  • @Janusha: Updated 6 or 7 years ago? lol Corvettes didn't come with PTM, launch control, Michelin cup tires, and brembo brakes 6 or 7 years ago. But they do now. But ofcourse you wouldn't know that because you are not a real car enthusiast. Just some pathetic Norwegian trash who trolls american car vids. And secondly, I dont believe in hype. I find out for myself. Which is the big difference between an enthusiast like myself and bottom feeding Norwegian trash such as yourself. :)

  • @V8Supercar1

Yeah you check it all out.... thats why you get caught on silly GM marketing tricks like the detuning of the Corvette engine for racing. As GM will tell you... and as you tried telling me... that Corvette engines are just SO good that they need to detune it for racing to make it fair on the others. Thats bullshit. There are rules to follow in racing and the Corvettes arent made out of magic and patriotism, They are popular because they are cheap and available.

  • @Janusha: So wait. Now all of a sudden you actually been to a manufacturing facility to know what they are doing?? And you are talking about wild claims and such. Okay I'll give you a chance. Go ahead and prove your wild claims. Go ahead and prove that the engines they say they are using, isn't what they are using.

  • @V8Supercar1

Ive been to Lamborghini, Lotus, Ferrari, Pagani, Koenigsegg.... Not quite sure what you mean by that tho...

The engine they are using isnt the one they are using... Dude... what are you talking about. I dont claim anything. I poke holes in others wild claims. Thats what I do. I dont claim shit myself.

  • @Janusha: I'm talking about your wild claims that GM doesn't use the engines that they say they use. Hell, even some of their pro drivers have bragged about racing their LS series of engines.

  • @V8Supercar1

No clue what you are on about.... I dont give a fuck about GMs engines. Never said a word about it.

  • @Janusha 2012 ZR1 7:19 on the Nurburgring....nuff said.

  • @07Z06ss

Complete media stunts. Done with full factory backed racecrews on semi slic race tyres with a full rollcage.

And tell me... Except Nissan and now Lexus, who else goes to the Ring to "benchmark" their cars? This idea of the Ring as some "international benchmark" where we all go to see whats best.... and somehow americans came along, Viper, Corvette, Hell even Cadillac and ALL won goold fucking medals on their first try it an all american myth.

  • @Janusha Go ahead and keep bitching it's not going to change the fact that American cars are tearing up the Nurburgring.

  • @07Z06ss

Haha yes we had the Nurburgring for nearly 100 years now. Porsche has had permanent test facilities there for over 50 years and now along comes americans.... And ALL claim woooorld fucking records after renting the track for a weekend. And proceed to TEACH us what the Ring is... This is arrogance on a whole new level. This idea of the Ring as some international "benchmark" where we all go to see whats best, is an american ridiculous myth.

  • @Janusha Americans own the ring that's why we have stock cars and VIDEOS to show what we can do....and we leave the Europeans with their jaws on the floor.

  • @07Z06ss

Keep waving that flag dude. Keep believing and maybe one day it will come true for you guys. Its working out SO well for you guys these days. Especially today when GM ran themselves to the ground and fled the country, moving production to Asia with YOUR 100 billion aid funds. Essentially bankrupting Michigan and closing down half of americas production, costing hundreds of thousands of jobs. And here you are... Waving flags in their honor over a cheapass plastic wedge with a big engine.

  • @Janusha Go ahead and talk about GM going bankrupt, that has nothing to do with the ZR1 running circles around those " European sophisticated technological masterpieces".Nothing like a good old push rod V8 to make little fanboys like you squeal like bitches hahaha! Cry more it makes my day to see you guys bitch about how the ZR1 has crappy interrior as your only argument to it performing better than European cars 3 times the price! Too funny! hahahaha

  • @07Z06ss Actually your wrong bro. The ZR1 is a Very Sophisticated supercar itself. Magnetic Ride control, Adjustable dampers, PTM Multi-Functional Traction control. Its unique supercharger four-lobe rotor design and is augmented with an integrated charge cooling system that reduces inlet air temperature. the ZR1 uses iron cylinder liners inserted in the aluminum block. The LS9 is hand-assembled. Everything about the ZR1 is custom. Thats why its not considered a Muscle Car. My mom is a Gm Ex.

  • @Toddmars

Hahaha traction control is now sophisticated? Its been around for 20 years and they only put it in the Corvette because it became required by law. There is nothing sophisticated in a Corvette. Their goal is "bang for the buck" there is no technology, no buildquality and no styling. There is a big engine lots of HP and fat, sticky tyres and the rest is marketing hype, wild claims and frantic flagwaving.

  • @07Z06ss

Are you telling me GM DIDNT go bankrupt ? DIDNT move production to Asia with YOUR taxpayers money? 100 billion of them. Damn.. You guys sure could have used that money at home these days in bankrupt america instead of giving it to GM that spends it creating jobs for Chinese, Korean and Mexican workers. Its like buying a shopping mall so your kids can have a summer job. There is no way in HELL they will ever make that back.

And they get away with these things by doing media stunts.

  • To make you forget all these colossal failures, all it takes is sending some factory backed GM race teams to a closed down race track in Germany and claim ridiculously misleading lap times in modified cars.

Without a shread of evidence. Not ONE GOD DAMN picture on the net of any of these events. But they get away with it. Because nothing goes down better with the flagwaving masses than american heroes going to Europe to kick ass. Evidence become mere details when it comes to waving that flag.
