@Hazmat347, yes Russia never planed to produce SU-47. Sukhoi/HAL PAK FA is almost ready by now and will first inducted to Russian Air force by 2014. With in 2020 Fifth generation jets will no longer a wonder and Raptor and Lighting will have status like F-15E and F-18E/F hornet having now(Euro fighter/Gripen/Rafale/Mig 35 are much better aircraft currently available with almost same price).

@sergionuno. Noboby really knows how the future will turn out until a few battles take place and the casualties are counted. F-22 or any fighter does not need to be perfect. So long as it defeats the opponent fighters with a much smaller loss ratio to itself, then it is OK. Unortunately, the US only have a small inventory of F-22. This can become a serious drawback.

@highonfsx Not quite. The Sukhoi company is working on marketing the design to the Russian Air Force. So its quite possible that the SU-47, or a variant of it, might see combat at a future date.
Has anyone seen Russian aviation bases lately? They are being reclaimed by the surrounding flora. The training programs are severely restricted and abbreviated due to budget shortfalls. Same for aircraft maintenance. Training and practice = capability. Even with advanced aircraft at your disposal, if you can't train regularly, you are fighting with a bad handicap. Look at what happened to US aviation at the outset of WWII and axis aviation at the end of it. Limited training = dead aircrews.

What are you on about? did you read what I said, I said that the SU-47 was just a prototype to test forward swept wings, much like the American X-29 from the 1980's. The F-35 has THE best avionics on earth, as of now, and it is being built into a FIGHTING aircraft, so I have no dought an F-35 would annihilate an unarmed SU-47.
The F-35 isn't perfect though, 4 missile sin air to air configurationa and no gun on the VTOL version? That is a scary proposition...

The Block 30s are being upgraded with Increment 3.1 capabilities, which include air-to-ground and electronic attack modes for the Northrop Grumman APG-77 radar. The F-22 Raptor 4 color glass cockpit would change to full screen cockpit that use by F-35 & F-18E/F. All the 187 F-22 Raptor will be modernize by using AIM-120D & AIM-9X Block 2. The F-22 pilot will wear F-35 HMD. The F-22 will sometime upgraded with Advance Inferred search and track sensor. I got information from Flightglobal news.

American Fighter Pilots > Russian Fighter Pilots. We got better skills, tactics, strategy, and technique.
Just look how we did to them in Korean War, Vietnam War, and 1991 Gulf War. All US legacy fighter aircraft pass on the torch. P-51 to F-86 to F-4 to F-15 to F-22 right now.

SU-47 is no longer developed and remained as a prototype plane but it's replaced by Sukhoi PAK FA. jointly developed by India's HAL and Russia's Sukhoi. Already prototype are flying and will be ready by 2015. It will be heavily marketed and will be the main competitor of Western 5th generation jets including F-22 and F-35. It's also have stealth technology. Already they have 1000 aircraft orders including both Russian, Indian and Vietnamese armed forces.

F-22 will no longer dominate air for even next 5 years. Russia and India jointly developing Fifth Generation Fighter Aircraft (FGFA), expected to be operational till 2015. China is developing it's own fifth generation Aircraft J-20, expected to be ready on 2017-2018. Already prototype of both jets flying. India separately developing it's own fifth generation jet called Medium Combat Aircraft. F-22 will have it's competitor by 2015-2016.

@161cola they will admit it, because a plane will be missing, its not like that can be cover3ed up, also even if the RADAR did get a lock, chaff still works very effectively. The low frequency bs is not true, otherwise more F-117s would have gotten shot down as well as just 1. Even so the F-117s Stealth is not as advanced as the F-22s.

@Hazmat347, yes Russia never planed to produce SU-47. Sukhoi/HAL PAK FA is almost ready by now and will first inducted to Russian Air force by 2014. With in 2020 Fifth generation jets will no longer a wonder and Raptor and Lighting will have status like F-15E and F-18E/F hornet having now(Euro fighter/Gripen/Rafale/Mig 35 are much better aircraft currently available with almost same price).

@SpywareHater I dont know what they told you, but for what i saw one American news site, the F-22 has a series of flaws. for example: it can fly [an average of] only 1.7 hours before it gets a critical failure, then it requires more than 30h of maintenance for every hour in the skie, also The aircraft's radar-absorbing metallic skin is the principal cause of its maintenance troubles, with unexpected shortcomings -- such as vulnerability to rain and other abrasion.

Also if you had common sense you would also do proper research, you would know those flaws were worked out in development stage not when it was fully developed and put in service, as if any plane starts out perfect. Just like your info on why its production was canceled, which really was plain wrong because its still in service. @sergionuno. Noboby really knows how the future will turn out until a few battles take place and the casualties are counted. F-22 or any fighter does not need to be perfect. So long as it defeats the opponent fighters with a much smaller loss ratio to itself, then it is OK. Unortunately, the US only have a small inventory of F-22. This can become a serious drawback.

@sergionuno its not vulnerable to rain, one that test was already done, it isn't to snow either, the F-117A Nighthawks cost far more anyway and is not even anywhere as good either, 30 maintanence hours is old news and outdated, 1.7s flight is now considered a lie since that was also fixed. By far, your nothing more than a troll with the mind of a child, doing pitiful research and then trying to spread your ignorance to other as if it was bliss. For one your age, this is pitiful.

@highonfsx Not quite. The Sukhoi company is working on marketing the design to the Russian Air Force. So its quite possible that the SU-47, or a variant of it, might see combat at a future date.

Has anyone seen Russian aviation bases lately? They are being reclaimed by the surrounding flora. The training programs are severely restricted and abbreviated due to budget shortfalls. Same for aircraft maintenance. Training and practice = capability. Even with advanced aircraft at your disposal, if you can't train regularly, you are fighting with a bad handicap. Look at what happened to US aviation at the outset of WWII and axis aviation at the end of it. Limited training = dead aircrews.

What are you on about? did you read what I said, I said that the SU-47 was just a prototype to test forward swept wings, much like the American X-29 from the 1980's. The F-35 has THE best avionics on earth, as of now, and it is being built into a FIGHTING aircraft, so I have no dought an F-35 would annihilate an unarmed SU-47.
The F-35 isn't perfect though, 4 missile sin air to air configurationa and no gun on the VTOL version? That is a scary proposition...

The Block 30s are being upgraded with Increment 3.1 capabilities, which include air-to-ground and electronic attack modes for the Northrop Grumman APG-77 radar. The F-22 Raptor 4 color glass cockpit would change to full screen cockpit that use by F-35 & F-18E/F. All the 187 F-22 Raptor will be modernize by using AIM-120D & AIM-9X Block 2. The F-22 pilot will wear F-35 HMD. The F-22 will sometime upgraded with Advance Inferred search and track sensor. I got information from Flightglobal news.
