70 hours in SSR and haven't scratched 80% quite yet. Minigames of good, meh and crap >>> None. Extra Characters didn't hurt Heroes... why? Because it was done like a Sonic game. And the playable characters are playable in the same levels. In SSR, a different ring set pretty much = very different character.

Last time I checked, bad things make a game worse, and no horrible mini-games that have nothing to do with Sonic at all sounds a lot better.

And no, the boost is not cheap in the 360 and PS3 versions of the game. You just have to level it up a bit.

Secret Rings was in no way better than Unleashed. Even WITH multiplayer.

Heroes and Rush are involved as one has perfectly functional extra characters in 3D and the other has Online multiplayer.

Achievements and Trophies? Interesting... *Takes notes* *Doesn't care much*.

Bad things do make a game worse, the Werehog, the lack of control in the gameplay, sure you are leading Sonic but hazards are boost bait and it is easy almost all the way. There were great-horrible minigames in SSR. As long as the good exists it is a good thing.

Ah, but SSR had less than wanted gameplay.

You could only focus the camera in front of you, the homing attack was hard to use,(as in it took valuable seconds to time it right, and it wasn't always accurate)

To add in, the cut scenes were horrible. They seemed like a colorless comic book.

I believe the game only had 3 CG (i think that's what they're called) cut scenes.

I have played both of the games to the end, so I'm not saying this without little experience of the games.We both have opinions.

Sonic Unleashed is really great in the daytime stages. Night Time... meh... some of its fun. Only the bosses in Nighte Time stages are fun.

I had a hard time believing/likeing Sonic and the Secret Rings. I don't know. The controls didn't really get me as much. I kinda hate games that give me the feeling that I'm on rails. That means no time for taking my time and exploration.

Both sonic games are good. But SSR didn't really get to me like all you guys. And SU was just.... meh..

yea but I didn't really like SSR's controls. It seemed like... well... like your driving a car. And I don't really like driving games on the Wii (im used to PS2/PS3/Xbox360 driving games). Sonic Unleashed did feel like its on rails on its own, but at least you have total control.

You have total control in SSR as well. Being pushed forwards doesn't mean you can' stop in 0.25 seconds or slow to a halt in 4 seconds.

yea I see where your getting at. My point is that I really dont like motion controls controling a character around the environment (think of GTA IV. What if you had to have motion controls to make the character walk foward, backwards, and side - to - side). It gets kinda... well... meh. But I do know what your talking about and understand it. As I do know you pull the controler back to make Sonic stop. So you do have some sort of "total control" to him.

Sonic was never about speed in the old games douche. :P And this will likely be the second fastest or fastest Sonic game ever. SSR is the fastest one considering the danger levels and fact you can't boost to avoid everything. Sonic Unleashed 360 is the literal fastest.
