I'm not sure if I recall correctly, but I think you can get that heart by taking a hit in the spikes. Not sure. You figured out the cannon boss in less time than I. I think I died twice.

As for the heart you cant get. try from the first ledge just off the main ledge. its got brambles, but it looks like its at a good enough spot to reach the heart.

Little Hint #1-- If a screen is not bounded (no wall on that side) then you can jump/drop through that side of the screen.

Little Hint #2-- Back by the fire-ball shooter boss, look very closely on the far-left wall past the Thwomp... and get used to stuff like it.

Deep Cavern Heart-- Just come back with the first Double-Jump-Height Upgrade.

You heal by saving, or by beating bosses.

Also, this game gets hard. there are certain parts that you have to go through insane obstacles without taking any damage. Those parts are optional, but the items you get are very helpful. And the only way to heal is at save points. And I'm pretty sure i got that heart tank thing the first time i went to that cave. I might have just double jumped from the spikes on the bottom, I don't remember.

I think for that heart bit in the cave, if you stand on the brambley ledge on the right, you can double-jump from there. That way, the ceiling isn't in the way.

Metroid Prime is the prime(lawl) example of double jump being what you rely on all the time for platforming considering once you get it every single platform you need to jump on to progress is basically right at the double jump's length.

Also Raocow, at 6:15, if you focus on the background, do you see that red arrow on the yellow walls, by the left side of the screen? Secret passage. It's secret. And it's invisible.

Just an idea what you should be looking for later on. It's THAT subtle. Or, you can just try jumping into every wall in the game.

During the game you need to collect various upgrades to your jump and time breath underwater, as well as gold orbs (5 allow you to beat the game, there are 10).
