Thanks! I kind of wish I was, but I know plenty of people that are and I know how hard that road is. I'm actually a Technical Designer by day. Interesting? Not really. I've thought about taking the leap, but I haven't yet.

Great work, man! Don't worry about similarities with Brooks's voice...yours is unique and great. Did you alter your sound at all, or is that simply the mic quality coming through? Any sound proofing?

Thanks for the compliment and question. The only thing I did to the track was a compression to minimize the big changes in volume. Otherwise, it's all me and the mic with no pitch correction or reverb other than the natural reverb in the room. You may also notice that I'm wearing earbuds. You always want to make sure you're not re-recording instrument tracks when recording your vocal tracks. Thanks again! 4 more days to vote everybody, please do!

Not sure if you intended that as a compliment. If so thanks, but I was not trying to. I really just have a similar voice to Brooks Ashmanskas. Rather than work really hard to try to sound different and potentially screw some things up I made a conscious decision to try to sound like me and make choices that I would make whether that sounded at times like the sound track or not.

But, if all you meant was "nice job" then thanks :)

Hey Etcy, I'm not ignoring your question, I keep forgetting to check the brand when I'm home (which is not very often). I'll letcha know when I do. It's definitely nothing fancy. I picked it up used when I was recording my old band to finish a few tracks after we lost our supply of professional microphones (ie. our drummer, long story) in the middle of recording an album. So that was all to say that I will let you know. Also, you have a beautiful voice and I plan on dueting with you soon!

watch your hand motions they are distracting. voice is good try and make your acting with more substance inside of just fake facial expressions...let it come out naturally. overall you were ok.
