there is supposed to be a meteor shower in april... starts on he 16th but its peak is from the 21st to the 22nd. its called the "lyrids meteor shower" have fun!! :)
There are plenty of meteor showers annually. Some are for more experienced viewers. You can look it up from a search engine and find sites that list when the peak is, location in the sky, and what is expected from it this year. The Leonids are in November. And while they can be the most impressive, they are very unpredictable. Find out the next shower! It's always worth it!
ya that might be a meteor shower but the stuff u heard must be wizzing vehicles pass on the road lol. u can't hear something thats light years away man
A friend and myself were privey to seeing literally thousands of perseids in one evening, Blue orange and mostly white, plenty of trailers (particles following each other). Prior to that night I have never even seen one!
some people say its impossible to hear the meteors pass by but I managed to see a meteor shower myself late at night and I heard them wizzing by. anyone know of any such thing?
scientists say thats not true, but a lot of people say that it is, its even recorded on film, ive seen it. don't remember the link, but if i find it, ill let you know
Yes, in November of 2001 my wife and I were living in California and the Leonoids were out that night. I some cases,we could here the meteors crackleing through the atmospere. My father who was operating a H.A.M. (twp meter) radio could hear them also coming over the radio waves. Awsome show!
If it was in space then there is no medium for the sound to travel in, but since it is in the Earth's atmosphere then it should be possible shouldn't it?
Actually its not a time lapse, but it was edited to remove the moments when there were no meteors. The shutter speed was 1/8 of a second which holds onto a fast shooter and tends to cut off the entire streak on a slower one.
I've been trying to get a good photo of Venus and Jupiter together in the sky (appears in the UK low in the SW at around 5 PM), as it looks quite striking. It makes me feel a certain way just to see the two planets together in the sky.
Awesome!

I don't see how you would hear them, sound needs a medium to travel through and there is no air in space.
