@SuperPenetration It would be even better if they didn't turn into large triangles when you crash at 300km/h! But for the most part, RoR is more realistic, while this game seems to be "swap models" and make a few select parts (wheels, doors) go flying off in random directions. Plus RoR is free ;)

@nielsbaars No its not, the rollover are way to out of control. Even at a high speed, you wouldn't roll that much. And also from the crash videos I've seen on Youtube, the cars have pretty much the same damage as this.. I mean DiRT is made by the same people that made GRID.

Very unrealistic crashing models. Theres absolutely no physics behind it...i dont know how you guys can call that real. You crash at 50 mph, body work barely damages, and damage thats made is very unrealistic. And wheels and doors dont come off at such low speed. Jeez on this game wheels fall off before bumpers....stupid unrealistic arcade game that has no realism at all. Except for the graphics, one of the worst driving games ever. Everyone who ever drove a real car will say that.

not at all. In GTA4, the car metal does not bend. The car just gets shorter, it loses mass. If you compare a high speed crash from GTA4 with a real photograph, there is nothing in common. It may be dynamic but it's entirely fake and not based on any physics. Also, slamming into a wall at 100 mph just leaves a large circular dent in the front of the car, when in real life it'd crush the car back past the front seats. If you want really good damage, try Rigs of Rods and use my Chevrolet S10.

well, maybe its not 100% realistic, but i've played lots of car games and if i want to see good damage i play gta iv, basically i mean its the game with best damage imho. plus awesome graphics, driving physics and sounds...and you can flat and burn the tires! haha (of course its 100 times better than Dirt...) Burnout and grid are not bad for damage, but too arcade playing...so...lets play gta iv :P!!

will try rigs of rods again, that damage looks good!

gta4 damage is kind of the best damage you can have in a game. I don't know any game that is better. Dirt is very good aswell but i like the damage models of GTA4 more. It is kind of weird that you have that circular dent is kind of unrealistic but its better than any other GTA and remember its a free roaming game with a lot of freedom and great graphics.

put it this way, a car rolled down a massive sand dune and didnt lose its doors or wheels. crashes like what you see here do not result in flying doors or wheels in reality, in reality cars actualy crumple so the doors stay on and get trapped in the door frame of the car

they do have different levels of damage. when you race on pro, it sets the mecanical damage to "very high". so high that it is unrealistic, and very hard to race.

dude how do you drive normal rally and rallycross cars on the mud tracks? i wanna do that! i love the crashes, is this the xbox or ps3 version? because the its seems that your cars get damaged a lot easier than when i do stuff like that with the pc version.

To drive the rally and rallycross cars on mud tracks, you just have to replace one of the rallycross tracks with the mud track, so I renamed the old DiRT\tracks\rallycross\croft and then copied the tracks\baja\bark_river folder to the rallycross folder and renamed it to croft. Also, go into the newly made folder and delete "resetlines.cqtc" or rename it. This allows you to drive anywhere on the track.
